Federico Fellini International Airport (RMI), formerly known as Rimini Miramare Airport, is an international airport in Miramare, 5.2 km southeast of Rimini. It is also the main air gateway to the nearby independent Republic of San Marino. The airport is named after Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini. In 2019, the airport served 395,194 passengers and was the 27th busiest airport of Italy.
How to get from Federico Fellini International Airport to Rimini
Bus
There is bus number 9 between the airport and Rimini train station. The bus departs every 30 minutes and costs about 1.00 euro. The journey takes about 20 minutes. It is also the most convenient way to get from the airport to the city. From Rimini Train Station, you can continue using public transport to the rest of the city.
Taxi
Probably the most convenient way to travel between Federico Fellini International Airport and the city is by taxi, especially if you have a lot of luggage. At RMI Airport, you will find taxis in front of the terminal. We recommend that you only choose a licensed taxi company, such as Taxi Rimini, otherwise you may be cheated on fares. All taxi vehicles should be white or yellow with a taxi sign. Approximate fares start at EUR 17 to get to Rimini city center and EUR 45 to San Marino. Note that nightly rates apply after 10pm. Be aware, that taxi drivers in Italy usually do not speak English or other foreign languages.
