How to get from Pisa International Airport to Pisa

People mover

Pisa International Airport is about 1 km from Pisa Centrale Train Station, from where you can reach all destinations on the Italian rail network. Less than 40 meters from the Pisa Airport passenger terminal, you will find a new high-speed, fully automated people mover (APM) service with direct connection to Pisa Central Station. The service is available daily from 6:00 am to midnight with variable frequencies (6-15 minutes) depending on the number of passengers. The average travel time between the airport and the railway station, including the intermediate stop at San Giusto - Aurelia, is about 5 minutes. The single one-way ticket costs 5 euro.

Bus

At the airport, bus tickets may be purchased at the Information Desk (Arrivals Area). The Bus Area (P6) is located just outside the Passenger Terminal Arrivals Area, to the right from the exit. There are numerous bus lines running to the centre of the city from the airport. Their frequency is 15-40 minutes. The approximate travel time till the Via Crispi 93-95 bus stop in the city centre is about 7 minutes. Be ready to pay from $1 to $3 for the one-way ride.

Taxi

In Pisa, there is no Uber. The taxi service from Pisa International Airport is operated by Cooperativa Pisana Tassisti – CO.TA.PI. The taxi stand is in front of the airport on the arrivals side. The travel time between the airport and the city centre is about 2 minutes and will typically cost you from 6 to 8 euro. Be aware that taxi drivers in Pisa typically do not speak neither English nor any other foreign language.
