About Pisa
Pisa is a city and commune in Tuscany, central Italy, located on the Arno River just before it flows into the Ligurian Sea. It is the capital of the province of Pisa. While Pisa is best known for its Leaning Tower (the bell tower of the city's cathedral), the city of over 91,104 inhabitants (about 200,000 in the metropolitan area) contains more than twenty other historic churches, several medieval palaces and various bridges over the Arno River. Much of the city's architecture is funded by its history as one of the Italian maritime republics.
>p>The city is also home to the University of Pisa, which dates back to the 12th century, as well as the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa and its offshoot, the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, founded by Napoleon in 1810, as the most recognized advanced graduate school in Italy. How to get from Pisa to Pisa International Airport
