Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Private Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Services in Lima
Lima is the capital of Peru and one of the largest cities on the Pacific coast of South America. It is the country’s main centre for international travel, business, culture and gastronomy, as well as the usual starting point for visitors continuing to Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Arequipa, Paracas and other destinations across Peru.
The city extends across a wide metropolitan area, from the coastal districts of Miraflores and Barranco to the historic centre, San Isidro, Callao and numerous residential and commercial neighbourhoods. Distances can be considerable, and road congestion often makes journey times difficult to predict. A pre-booked private transfer provides direct transportation with a vehicle selected for the number of passengers and their luggage.
WelcomeTaxi offers private airport transfers, local point-to-point journeys, hourly chauffeur service and long-distance transportation in Lima and the surrounding region. Services are available for individual travellers, families, corporate guests, organised groups and passengers requiring additional luggage capacity.
Transfers from Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM)
Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) is the principal international airport serving Lima and the main aviation gateway to Peru. It is located in Callao, northwest of central Lima and the city’s principal hotel districts. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}
A private airport transfer provides direct transportation from the terminal to a hotel, apartment, office or cruise facility. Instead of searching for transport after arrival or travelling with luggage on several public services, passengers are collected at the agreed meeting point and taken directly to their destination.
Popular transfer destinations include Miraflores, San Isidro, Barranco, the historic centre of Lima, Santiago de Surco and accommodation along the Costa Verde. Transfers can also be arranged to Callao, La Punta, local port facilities and addresses throughout the wider metropolitan area.
The airport and Lima’s main visitor districts are separated by busy urban roads. Travel times vary according to the destination, time of day, roadworks and traffic conditions. Passengers should therefore allow sufficient time for airport departures, particularly during weekday commuting periods.
Private Transfers to Miraflores and San Isidro
Miraflores is one of Lima’s best-known districts and a major centre for hotels, restaurants, shopping and coastal recreation. Its parks and neighbourhoods extend along cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, with the Costa Verde road running below the city. Many international visitors choose Miraflores because of its accommodation, dining options and convenient access to other parts of Lima.
San Isidro is an important financial and business district with corporate offices, embassies, luxury hotels and residential areas. Private transfers between the airport, Miraflores and San Isidro are suitable for both leisure and business travellers, especially when the journey involves several passengers, substantial luggage or a fixed meeting schedule.
Transportation can also be arranged between hotels in different districts, conference venues, restaurants, private homes and shopping centres. Passengers with several stops may find that an hourly chauffeur service is more convenient than booking each journey separately.
Transfers to Barranco and Historic Lima
Barranco is known for its historic streets, artistic atmosphere, restaurants and nightlife. It lies south of Miraflores and is connected to other coastal districts by major urban roads. Private transportation provides a practical option for evening journeys, hotel changes and airport connections.
The historic centre of Lima contains important colonial buildings, public squares, museums and religious landmarks. The distance between the historic centre and the coastal hotel districts may appear modest on a map, but actual travel times depend heavily on traffic.
A private transfer allows visitors to travel directly between these areas without navigating unfamiliar bus routes or arranging several separate taxis. For sightseeing itineraries involving both central Lima and the coastal districts, a chauffeur-driven vehicle can remain available for the required period.
Chauffeur Service in Lima
Hourly chauffeur hire is suitable for travellers who need a vehicle for several appointments or stops during the same day. The service can be used for business meetings, corporate events, embassy visits, private sightseeing, shopping trips and restaurant transfers.
Business travellers can arrange transportation between Jorge Chávez International Airport, hotels, offices and conference venues. A pre-planned chauffeur service helps maintain a more organised schedule in a city where journey times can change significantly during the day.
Leisure passengers may book a vehicle for a personalised itinerary covering Miraflores, Barranco, San Isidro and the historic centre. Visits to archaeological sites, coastal viewpoints, museums and restaurants can be combined without arranging a new vehicle after every stop.
Hourly bookings should include a realistic itinerary and sufficient time for traffic. The driver’s availability is reserved for the agreed duration, but the number of locations that can be visited depends on distances and road conditions.
Long-Distance Transfers from Lima
Lima is a convenient starting point for road journeys along Peru’s central coast. Private long-distance transfers provide direct transportation from the airport, a hotel or a private address to the final destination without the need to reach a bus terminal or change vehicles.
Lima to Paracas
Paracas is a popular coastal destination south of Lima and a gateway to the Paracas National Reserve and the Ballestas Islands. A private transfer is suitable for travellers carrying luggage or continuing directly to a hotel, resort or harbour departure point.
The journey can be booked as a one-way transfer or as part of a longer itinerary through southern Peru. Early departures are often practical when passengers have a scheduled boat excursion or wish to continue to Ica on the same day.
Lima to Ica and Huacachina
Ica is known for vineyards, regional agriculture and access to the desert oasis of Huacachina. Private transportation from Lima allows passengers to travel directly to accommodation in Ica or Huacachina without changing at a regional bus station.
Paracas, Ica and Huacachina are frequently combined in multi-day itineraries. When several destinations are included, the schedule should account for road distances, sightseeing time and overnight accommodation.
Lima to Caral
Caral is an important archaeological destination north of Lima in the Supe Valley. Because the site is outside the metropolitan transport network, a private vehicle provides a more direct option for visitors planning a dedicated excursion or onward journey.
Transportation may also be arranged to coastal towns, industrial sites and other destinations north or south of the capital. Longer routes should be reserved in advance so that driver availability and an appropriate vehicle can be confirmed.
Callao and Cruise Port Transfers
Callao is home to Jorge Chávez International Airport and Peru’s principal seaport. Cruise passengers may require transportation between port facilities, Lima hotels and the airport before or after their voyage.
The exact terminal, vessel name and requested meeting point should be provided when arranging a cruise transfer. Port access procedures and pickup locations may differ from ordinary hotel collections, so accurate information is important.
Private cruise transportation can be arranged for individuals and groups. Vans, minibuses and larger vehicles are available for passengers travelling together or carrying substantial luggage.
Why Pre-Book Instead of Taking a Regular Taxi?
Lima has conventional taxis, ride-hailing services, buses and urban rapid-transit systems. These options are useful for many local journeys, but availability, vehicle condition and luggage capacity may vary.
A pre-booked private transfer allows the route, pickup time, passenger count and vehicle class to be recorded in advance. Child seats, additional stops and larger vehicles can also be requested before the journey.
This is particularly helpful at the airport, where newly arrived passengers may be unfamiliar with the city and its distances. Families and groups can travel together in one suitable vehicle rather than dividing between several taxis.
For long-distance journeys, advance booking removes the need to negotiate an intercity route after arrival. The destination and schedule are agreed beforehand, making the service more predictable for both passengers and the transport provider.
Local Transportation and Traffic in Lima
Lima’s public transportation includes buses, minibuses, the Metropolitano bus rapid-transit system and a limited urban metro network. Public services can be economical, but they may require walking, route changes and additional transportation between the nearest stop and the final address.
Traffic is one of the most important factors when planning travel in Lima. Congestion is common on routes connecting Callao, the historic centre and the southern coastal districts. Journeys that are relatively short in distance can take considerably longer during busy periods.
Passengers travelling to Jorge Chávez International Airport should plan their departure conservatively. The complete flight number, terminal information and pickup address should be included in the reservation.
Lima has a mild desert climate, with limited rainfall but frequent coastal cloud and mist during the cooler months. Conditions are generally suitable for year-round travel, although visibility and traffic speed may vary along coastal roads.
Vehicles for Individuals, Families and Groups
Different vehicle categories are available according to passenger numbers, comfort preferences and luggage requirements. Sedans are suitable for individuals and small parties, while vans provide additional capacity for families, groups and passengers with larger bags.
Minibuses and coaches can be requested for conferences, organised tours, cruise groups and special events. Executive vehicles are available for corporate travellers and private guests requiring a higher level of comfort.
The selected vehicle should have sufficient space for every passenger and all luggage. Oversized items, mobility equipment and additional bags must be declared in advance to avoid capacity problems on the day of travel.
