Florence Airport, Peretola (FLR), formally Amerigo Vespucci Airport, is the international airport of Florence, the capital of Tuscany region, Italy. It is the second-busiest Tuscan airport in terms of passengers after Pisa International Airport. In 2021, the airport served 838,025 passengers.
How to get from Florence Airport to Florence
Tramway
From February 2019 the new tramway connection T2 between the Florence airport and the city centre (Piazza dell'Unità Italiana near Firenza Santa Maria Novella railway station) is operational. The tram runs every 7 to 18 minutes from 5:00 am to 0:04 am (Monday to Thursday), to 2:00 am (Friday and Saturday), to 0:25 am (Sunday and holidays). The transit time is 20 minutes. The one-way single ticket costs EUR 1.50.
Taxi
Taxis are stationed in front of the terminal. There is a fixed rate of EUR 22 from Florence Airport to Florence downtown including main hotels, and EUR 25.30 after 10pm. Additionally, you will pay EUR 1.00 for each piece of luggage. Be aware that Italian taxi drivers usually do not speak English, therefore it might be useful to have your exact drop off address written in Italian.
