Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport
Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP) is the main international airport for Malaga, the Costa del Sol and much of southern Andalusia. Located close to Malaga city and well connected to the coastal motorway, the airport serves travellers heading to beach resorts, city hotels, private villas, golf clubs, marinas, cruise terminals and inland towns across southern Spain.
WelcomeTaxi provides private airport transfers from Malaga Airport to hotels, apartments, villas, business addresses, ports and long-distance destinations. Whether you are travelling to Malaga city centre, Marbella, Puerto Banús, Estepona, Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Nerja or Granada, a pre-booked transfer gives you a comfortable and predictable way to continue from the airport to your final destination.
Getting from Malaga Airport to the City and Costa del Sol
There are several transport options from Malaga Airport. Travellers can use the local train, regular taxis, buses, ride-hailing services, rental cars, hotel shuttles or pre-booked private transfers. The best option depends on where you are going, how much luggage you have, when you arrive and whether you prefer door-to-door service.
The suburban train is useful for some destinations along the coast, including Malaga city, Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola. It can be a fast and economical option for solo travellers with light luggage who are staying near a station. However, it is less convenient for villas, resorts away from the rail line, late arrivals, families with children, passengers with golf equipment or travellers continuing to Marbella, Estepona, Nerja or inland Andalusia.
Regular taxis are available at the airport and can work well for straightforward trips. However, during peak holiday periods, queues may form and larger vehicles may not always be immediately available. For longer journeys along the coast, many travellers prefer to know the vehicle type, route and price arrangement in advance instead of arranging transport after landing.
Buses connect Malaga Airport with selected towns and cities, but schedules, luggage handling and onward local transport can make them less practical for door-to-door travel. Car rental is popular in Andalusia, especially for independent road trips, but it also means dealing with parking, navigation, deposits and local traffic immediately after a flight.
Why Choose a Pre-Booked Private Transfer from AGP
A pre-booked private transfer from Malaga Airport is arranged before you travel. Your driver receives the journey details in advance, including arrival time, destination, passenger count and luggage information. This helps make the arrival process smoother and removes the need to compare transport options at the airport.
Private airport transfers are especially useful in the Costa del Sol because many destinations are spread along the coast. A hotel may be close to a town name on the map, but the actual entrance can be in a residential area, golf resort, hillside development or gated community. For villas and private apartments, a clear address or map pin can be important.
For families, groups and leisure travellers, a reserved vehicle provides more comfort after a flight. The vehicle can be selected according to passenger and luggage needs, and larger vehicles can be arranged for groups instead of splitting into several taxis. For business travellers, a private transfer provides a more reliable arrival for meetings, conferences or events in Malaga, Marbella or nearby cities.
Transfers to Malaga City Centre
Malaga is both an airport gateway and a popular destination in its own right. Travellers arrive for the historic centre, museums, restaurants, cruise port, beaches, business districts and events. A private transfer from Malaga Airport to the city centre is a practical option for passengers who want direct transport to a hotel, apartment, meeting venue or cruise terminal.
The city centre has narrow streets, pedestrian areas and limited access zones in some places. For hotels in the old town, the driver may use the closest practical drop-off point if the entrance is not directly accessible by car. Providing the full hotel name and address helps make the route clearer in advance.
For cruise passengers, a private transfer to or from the Port of Malaga can be especially helpful. Cruise and ferry passengers often travel with more luggage and may need reliable timing between the airport, hotel and terminal. Pre-booking avoids the need to arrange transport at the last moment.
Transfers to Marbella, Puerto Banús and Estepona
Malaga Airport is the main arrival point for many visitors to Marbella, Puerto Banús and Estepona. These destinations are among the most requested private transfer routes on the Costa del Sol, especially for beach holidays, luxury hotels, villas, golf trips, weddings and corporate events.
Marbella and Puerto Banús are known for resorts, beach clubs, marinas, restaurants and private residences. Many addresses are not located directly in the town centre, so door-to-door private transfer is often more convenient than combining public transport with a local taxi. For villas, gated communities and hillside properties, it is helpful to provide a full address, residence name or map location.
Estepona is farther west along the coast and is a common destination for families, long-stay visitors and golf travellers. A pre-booked transfer from AGP to Estepona gives a more comfortable journey than changing between bus services or waiting for a suitable vehicle at the airport during busy periods.
Transfers to Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola and Mijas
Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola are popular resort towns located between Malaga and Marbella. Some areas are served by the local train, but private transfers remain convenient for hotels away from stations, travellers with luggage, families, late arrivals and guests staying in apartments or villas.
Mijas, including Mijas Pueblo and Mijas Costa, may require more careful planning because destinations can be spread between coastal areas, residential communities and hillside roads. A private transfer helps avoid uncertainty and gives the driver the correct destination before pick-up.
For short resort transfers, the main benefit is simplicity. You leave the airport with a confirmed vehicle and travel directly to your accommodation without waiting, changing transport or navigating unfamiliar local connections.
Regional and Long-Distance Transfers from Malaga Airport
Malaga Airport is also an important gateway for wider Andalusia. WelcomeTaxi can arrange long-distance transfers from AGP to Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Ronda, Nerja, Almuñécar, Motril, Gibraltar, Tarifa, Cadiz, Jerez and other destinations in southern Spain. These routes are useful for travellers whose final destination is not easily reached by direct public transport or who prefer a private door-to-door journey.
Granada is one of the most popular inland destinations from Malaga Airport, especially for visitors travelling to the Alhambra, ski areas in the Sierra Nevada or historic city hotels. Ronda is another frequent route, often chosen by travellers staying in boutique hotels, countryside estates or planning scenic travel through Andalusia.
Transfers to Gibraltar, Tarifa and Cadiz are useful for ferry connections, coastal holidays, business travel and multi-city itineraries. For these longer journeys, pre-booking gives more certainty about timing, luggage space and vehicle comfort.
Chauffeur Service in Malaga and Costa del Sol
WelcomeTaxi also arranges chauffeur service in Malaga and the Costa del Sol for travellers who need flexible transport beyond a simple airport transfer. Hourly chauffeur hire can be used for business meetings, golf days, weddings, private sightseeing, restaurant transfers, shopping trips, marina visits or evening travel between resorts.
A chauffeur service is practical when the itinerary includes several stops or when plans may change during the day. Instead of booking separate taxis for each ride, passengers can keep one vehicle and driver for the agreed duration. This is especially useful for visitors staying in villas, attending events or moving between resorts along the coast.
Popular chauffeur routes may include Malaga city, Marbella, Puerto Banús, Estepona, Mijas, Ronda, Nerja, golf clubs, beach clubs, marinas and private estates. For longer sightseeing or business schedules, sharing the itinerary in advance helps plan realistic timing and suitable vehicle options.
Private Transfer vs Regular Airport Taxi
A regular airport taxi can be suitable for a simple short journey, especially when travelling alone with light luggage. However, a pre-booked private transfer provides more control over the travel experience. The vehicle is reserved in advance, the destination is known before arrival and the service can be matched to the number of passengers and suitcases.
This is important at Malaga Airport because many journeys are not short city rides. Transfers to Marbella, Estepona, Nerja, Granada or Gibraltar can take considerably longer than a standard airport-to-centre trip. After an international flight, most travellers prefer not to negotiate, wait for a larger vehicle or explain a villa address at the airport.
For departures, a private transfer is also helpful because the driver collects you from your hotel, villa, resort or cruise terminal at the agreed time and takes you directly to AGP. This reduces stress and helps you plan your airport arrival more safely, especially during high season, weekends or early morning flights.
Local Transportation Specifics in Malaga and Andalusia
Transport in Malaga and the Costa del Sol is shaped by the geography of the coast. Some towns are connected by train or bus, while others are better reached by road. Many resorts, villas and golf properties are located outside town centres, sometimes in hillside or gated communities where public transport is limited.
Traffic can increase during summer, public holidays, weekend changeover days, major events and evening peak periods. Coastal roads, motorway exits and resort access roads can become busy, particularly around Malaga, Torremolinos, Fuengirola, Marbella and Puerto Banús. For airport departures, it is wise to allow extra time during these periods.
Parking and vehicle access can also vary by destination. Historic centres such as Malaga old town, Marbella old town, Ronda and Granada may have restricted streets or pedestrian zones. A professional driver can use the closest practical drop-off point where direct access is limited.
Useful Travel Information for Malaga Airport Transfers
When booking a transfer from Malaga Airport, provide the flight number, arrival date, scheduled landing time, destination address, passenger count and luggage details. If you are travelling with golf bags, baby strollers, sports equipment or extra suitcases, mention this in advance so that an appropriate vehicle can be planned.
For hotels, include the full hotel name and address. For villas and private apartments, a map pin or local contact number can help the driver find the correct entrance. For cruise or ferry transfers, provide the terminal or port details where available.
Whether you need a direct transfer from AGP to Malaga, a private ride to Marbella or Estepona, chauffeur service for a golf or business itinerary, or a long-distance transfer across Andalusia, WelcomeTaxi provides a professional way to arrange transport in advance. With English-speaking drivers and pre-booked service, your journey from Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport can start in a more comfortable and organized way.
