Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Zayed International Airport

Zayed International Airport (AUH) is the main international airport serving Abu Dhabi and one of the principal aviation gateways to the United Arab Emirates. Located east of central Abu Dhabi, the airport provides convenient access to Abu Dhabi city, Yas Island, Saadiyat Island, Al Raha, Khalifa City and destinations throughout the wider emirate.

WelcomeTaxi provides pre-booked private airport transfers from Zayed International Airport to hotels, residences, offices and regional destinations. Passengers can organise their transportation before travelling and continue directly from the terminal with an English-speaking driver rather than arranging their onward journey after arrival.

Private transfers are suitable for individual travellers, couples, families, business passengers and larger groups. Chauffeur service and long-distance transfers can also be arranged for journeys beyond Abu Dhabi, including travel to Dubai, Al Ain and other destinations across the UAE.

Getting from Abu Dhabi Airport to the City

Zayed International Airport is connected with Abu Dhabi by road and public transport. Travellers can choose between city buses, official airport taxis, ride-hailing services, rental cars, limousine services and pre-booked private transfers.

The best option depends on the final destination, passenger number, amount of luggage and whether cost or direct door-to-door convenience is the priority.

Public Buses from Zayed International Airport

Abu Dhabi's public bus network provides direct services from the airport to several parts of the city and surrounding communities. Airport routes operate throughout the day and night, including services towards central Abu Dhabi, Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Al Shahama and Khalifa City.

Public buses are an economical option for independent travellers with light luggage and a destination close to a convenient stop. Passengers staying at a hotel, resort or residence away from the main routes may still need another local connection.

A private airport transfer provides direct transportation from the terminal to the exact address specified when booking.

Official Airport Taxis

Official airport taxis operate 24 hours a day from Zayed International Airport and use metered fares. Standard, larger and accessible vehicles are available, making taxis a practical option for passengers who prefer to arrange transportation after landing.

A pre-booked private transfer offers greater certainty before the flight and can be particularly useful when a specific vehicle class, additional luggage capacity or a longer regional journey is required.

Ride-Hailing Services

Ride-hailing services including Uber and Careem operate at Zayed International Airport with designated pickup zones. Passengers arrange their journey through the relevant mobile app and follow the airport signage to the collection area.

Ride-hailing is convenient for flexible local journeys, while a pre-booked transfer can be preferable when travellers want their transportation arranged before arrival or are travelling directly to another emirate.

Rental Cars

Car rental companies operate from the airport and can be useful for visitors planning to drive independently around Abu Dhabi or elsewhere in the UAE.

For passengers travelling directly to a hotel, resort or business address, however, renting a vehicle also means completing collection formalities, navigating local roads and arranging parking. A chauffeur-driven transfer removes these additional steps.

Why Pre-Book a Private Transfer from AUH?

Pre-booking allows the airport journey to be organised before arrival. The pickup, destination, passenger number and vehicle requirements can all be specified in advance.

Door-to-door transportation is especially useful in Abu Dhabi because hotels, resorts, offices and residential areas are spread across the city, nearby islands and surrounding communities.

Families and groups can reserve a vehicle with sufficient seating and luggage capacity rather than depending on the size of the next available taxi or ride-hailing car.

For business travellers, a pre-arranged chauffeur provides a direct connection between the airport and a hotel, office, conference venue or meeting location.

Transfers from Abu Dhabi Airport to Central Abu Dhabi

Central Abu Dhabi is one of the main destinations for passengers arriving at AUH. Hotels, offices, government institutions, shopping areas and waterfront districts are distributed throughout Abu Dhabi Island.

Public buses and taxis provide convenient connections from the airport, while a private transfer offers direct transportation to the passenger's hotel, residence or business address without intermediate stops.

Journey times depend on traffic and the exact destination within the city.

Abu Dhabi Airport Transfers to Yas Island

Yas Island is located relatively close to Zayed International Airport and is one of Abu Dhabi's most important leisure and entertainment destinations. The island contains major hotels, theme parks, Yas Marina Circuit, shopping and event venues.

A private transfer provides direct transportation from AUH to hotels and attractions on Yas Island and is particularly convenient for families and groups arriving with luggage.

Transfers to Saadiyat Island

Saadiyat Island is a major cultural, residential and resort destination in Abu Dhabi. It is home to luxury hotels, beaches, museums and cultural institutions.

A private transfer from Zayed International Airport provides direct door-to-door transportation to a resort, residence or cultural destination on the island without requiring a connection through central Abu Dhabi.

Transfers to Khalifa City and Al Raha

Khalifa City and Al Raha are located between the airport and central Abu Dhabi and include residential communities, hotels, offices and leisure developments.

Public buses serve parts of these areas, but a private transfer is useful when passengers want direct transportation to a specific residence, hotel or business address.

Chauffeur Service in Abu Dhabi

WelcomeTaxi chauffeur service can be arranged for business schedules, events, sightseeing and personalised itineraries throughout Abu Dhabi.

The city includes business districts, cultural attractions, government institutions, resorts and entertainment areas distributed across several islands and mainland communities. A private vehicle with driver allows passengers to travel according to their own programme rather than arranging separate taxis for every journey.

Chauffeur service can also be useful for full-day itineraries involving several meetings, hotels or attractions.

Business Travel from Abu Dhabi Airport

Abu Dhabi is one of the UAE's principal business, government and financial centres. International passengers frequently arrive at AUH for meetings, conferences, exhibitions and corporate travel.

A pre-booked chauffeur can provide direct transportation from the airport to an office, hotel, government institution, exhibition venue or meeting location.

Hourly chauffeur service may also be appropriate when several appointments are scheduled across Abu Dhabi during the same day.

Transfers from Abu Dhabi Airport to Dubai

Dubai is one of the most important long-distance destinations from Zayed International Airport. AUH operates a direct Airport Express coach service to Ibn Battuta Bus Station in Dubai, providing a practical scheduled public transport option.

For passengers whose final destination is a hotel, residence or business address elsewhere in Dubai, a private transfer provides direct door-to-door transportation without another connection after reaching Ibn Battuta.

This can be especially convenient for families, groups and passengers arriving with substantial luggage.

Transfers from Abu Dhabi Airport to Al Ain

Al Ain is an important city within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and lies inland near the border with Oman. It is known for its universities, business activity, cultural attractions and oasis landscapes.

Private transfers can be arranged directly from AUH to hotels, residences and business addresses in Al Ain, providing an alternative to scheduled intercity transport.

Regional and Long-Distance Transfers across the UAE

Zayed International Airport is well positioned for road journeys throughout the UAE. Private long-distance transfers can be arranged to destinations in Abu Dhabi Emirate and other emirates according to the required route and vehicle.

This type of service is particularly useful for families, groups and business travellers carrying substantial luggage. Passengers can leave the airport and continue directly towards their final destination without entering central Abu Dhabi first.

For journeys to Dubai and other major cities, scheduled coach services may be more economical, while private transfers provide greater flexibility and direct address-to-address travel.

Zayed International Airport and Dubai Airports

Abu Dhabi and Dubai form separate aviation markets, but their airports can be relevant alternatives for some international itineraries because the two cities are connected by modern highways and regular ground transport.

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is the principal airport serving Dubai and has one of the world's largest international route networks. Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) serves Dubai's southern metropolitan area and is geographically closer to Abu Dhabi than DXB.

For travellers whose destination is Abu Dhabi city itself, AUH remains by far the most convenient airport. Dubai airports are better treated as wider UAE alternatives rather than neighbouring Abu Dhabi airports in the same sense as airports serving one metropolitan area.

Useful Information for Arriving Passengers

Zayed International Airport uses the IATA code AUH. All scheduled passenger flights operate through the airport's main terminal, simplifying arrival and onward transportation.

Public buses operate 24 hours a day on several airport routes, while official taxis, Uber, Careem, rental cars and limousine services are also available. A direct Airport Express coach connects AUH with Ibn Battuta Bus Station in Dubai.

When booking a private airport transfer, passengers should provide the correct flight details, complete destination address, number of travellers and realistic luggage requirements.

With airport transfers, chauffeur service and long-distance private transportation available from Zayed International Airport, travellers can arrange their journey before arrival and continue directly to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain or destinations farther across the United Arab Emirates.
