Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Berlin Brandenburg Airport
Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) is the principal international airport serving Berlin and the surrounding Brandenburg region. Located south-east of central Berlin in Schönefeld, it replaced the city's former Tegel and Schönefeld passenger airports and now handles the vast majority of commercial air traffic for the German capital.
WelcomeTaxi provides pre-booked private airport transfers from Berlin Brandenburg Airport to hotels, residences, offices and regional destinations. Passengers can organise their transportation before travelling and continue directly from the airport with a professional driver rather than arranging their onward journey after arrival.
Private transfers are suitable for individual travellers, couples, families, business passengers and larger groups. Chauffeur service and long-distance transfers can also be arranged for journeys throughout Berlin, Brandenburg and destinations farther across eastern Germany.
Getting from Berlin Brandenburg Airport to the City
BER has excellent public transport connections and offers several ways to reach central Berlin. Travellers can choose between the Airport Express, regional trains, S-Bahn services, express buses, taxis, rental cars and pre-booked private transfers.
The most suitable option depends on the final destination, amount of luggage, group size and whether the priority is low cost or direct door-to-door convenience.
Airport Express and Regional Trains
The Flughafen-Express, commonly known as the FEX, provides one of the fastest public transport connections between Berlin Brandenburg Airport and central Berlin. Trains operate from the airport station directly beneath Terminal 1 and serve major stations including Berlin Hauptbahnhof, Potsdamer Platz and Südkreuz.
Regional trains also connect BER with Berlin and destinations elsewhere in Brandenburg. These services are particularly convenient for passengers travelling with light luggage and staying close to a major railway station.
A private airport transfer provides direct transportation to the passenger's hotel, residence or business address without the need to continue by local transport after leaving the train.
S-Bahn from BER Airport
S-Bahn services connect Berlin Brandenburg Airport with many parts of the city. The S9 provides a direct route through eastern and central Berlin, serving destinations including Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstraße, Hauptbahnhof, Zoologischer Garten and Spandau.
The S-Bahn can be a practical option for travellers whose destination is close to the route and who are comfortable navigating the urban rail network with luggage.
For passengers staying away from a convenient station, travelling with children or carrying several suitcases, a private transfer offers a simpler door-to-door journey.
Express Buses
Express buses also connect BER with Berlin and surrounding areas. The X7 and X71 routes provide connections towards Rudow, where passengers can transfer to the Berlin U-Bahn network, while other regional bus services connect the airport with destinations such as Potsdam.
Bus services can be useful when their route matches the passenger's destination, although they generally require an onward connection for journeys into central Berlin.
Taxis at Berlin Brandenburg Airport
Licensed taxis are available directly outside Terminal 1 at designated taxi ranks on the arrivals level. They provide direct transportation to Berlin, Potsdam and surrounding destinations.
A regular airport taxi can be convenient for passengers who prefer to arrange transportation after landing. A pre-booked private transfer provides an alternative when travellers want their vehicle organised before departure, require a particular vehicle type or are travelling with a larger group or substantial luggage.
Rental Cars and Car Sharing
Several major rental car companies operate at Berlin Brandenburg Airport, while car-sharing services are also available from designated airport parking areas.
Hiring a vehicle can be useful for travellers planning an independent road trip through Brandenburg or other parts of Germany. For a straightforward journey to a hotel or office in Berlin, however, a chauffeur-driven transfer removes the need to deal with navigation, traffic and parking.
Why Pre-Book a Private Transfer from BER?
Berlin has one of Europe's best public transport systems, but a private airport transfer offers a different level of convenience. The pickup, destination, passenger number and vehicle requirements can all be arranged before arrival.
Door-to-door transportation is particularly useful because Berlin is geographically large and accommodation is spread across many districts. A traveller staying in Mitte has different transport needs from someone heading to Charlottenburg, Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain or a suburban destination.
Families and groups can also reserve a vehicle with sufficient seating and luggage capacity rather than depending on the size of the next available taxi.
For business passengers, chauffeur service provides a direct connection between BER and offices, hotels, trade fairs, conference venues and meeting locations throughout the city.
Transfers from BER to Central Berlin
Central Berlin includes major visitor and business districts such as Mitte, Alexanderplatz, Potsdamer Platz and areas around Berlin Hauptbahnhof.
FEX, regional trains and S-Bahn services provide fast public transport connections from the airport. A private transfer offers direct transportation to the exact hotel, apartment or office address without requiring an onward local connection.
This can be particularly convenient after a late arrival, when travelling with children or when carrying several pieces of luggage.
Berlin Brandenburg Airport Transfers to Mitte
Mitte is Berlin's historic and administrative centre and one of the most common destinations for visitors arriving at BER. It contains major hotels, government buildings, museums, restaurants and attractions such as Brandenburg Gate and Museum Island.
Public transport provides excellent access to the district, while a private transfer allows passengers to travel directly from the terminal to their accommodation or business address.
Transfers to Charlottenburg and City West
Charlottenburg and the wider City West area are important hotel, shopping and business districts. Popular destinations include Kurfürstendamm, Zoologischer Garten and nearby neighbourhoods.
S-Bahn and rail connections are available from BER, but some journeys require transfers depending on the current service pattern. A private airport transfer provides direct door-to-door transportation to the passenger's final address.
Transfers to Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain
Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain are among Berlin's most popular districts for hotels, apartments, restaurants, nightlife and creative industries.
The airport is located south-east of the city, making these areas relatively convenient by road compared with destinations in western Berlin. A private transfer offers direct transportation without the need to change between rail, S-Bahn or local bus services.
Chauffeur Service in Berlin
WelcomeTaxi chauffeur service can be arranged for business schedules, events, sightseeing and personalised itineraries throughout Berlin.
The city is extensive, with government institutions, corporate offices, trade fair venues, hotels, restaurants and attractions spread across many districts. A private vehicle with driver allows passengers to travel according to their own programme rather than arranging separate taxis for every journey.
Hourly chauffeur service can also be useful when several meetings, events or sightseeing stops are planned during the same day.
Business Travel from Berlin Brandenburg Airport
Berlin is one of Germany's principal government, technology, media and conference centres. International visitors frequently arrive at BER for meetings, exhibitions, political events and corporate travel.
A pre-booked chauffeur can provide direct transportation from the airport to an office, hotel, embassy, conference venue or trade fair location.
For schedules involving several appointments, chauffeur service can provide continuous transportation throughout the day without the need to repeatedly arrange local vehicles.
Transfers from BER to Potsdam
Potsdam, the capital of Brandenburg, is one of the most important nearby destinations served from Berlin Brandenburg Airport. It is known for its historic palaces, government institutions, universities and business locations.
Regional bus and rail connections are available between the airport and Potsdam, while a private transfer provides direct transportation to hotels, residences and business addresses.
This can be particularly convenient for passengers travelling with luggage or continuing directly to Potsdam without entering central Berlin first.
Regional Transfers across Brandenburg
BER is well positioned for journeys throughout Brandenburg. Private regional transfers can be arranged to towns, hotels, business destinations and countryside accommodation beyond the Berlin metropolitan area.
Travellers whose final destination lies outside central Berlin can continue directly from the airport rather than entering the city simply to change transportation.
This is particularly useful for families, groups and business travellers carrying substantial luggage.
Long-Distance Transfers from Berlin
Private long-distance transfers provide an alternative to intercity rail and domestic flights when direct address-to-address transportation is preferred.
Journeys can be arranged from Berlin Brandenburg Airport to destinations farther across eastern and central Germany according to the required route and vehicle.
For very long routes, Germany's high-speed rail network may sometimes be faster or more economical, but chauffeur-driven transportation remains useful when flexibility, several stops or direct door-to-door travel is the priority.
Transfers from Berlin Airport to Leipzig and Dresden
Leipzig and Dresden are two major regional cities within practical driving distance of Berlin Brandenburg Airport. Both have direct rail connections from the wider Berlin transport network, while private transfers provide direct transportation from the airport to a hotel, residence or business address.
This can be useful for groups, families and business travellers who prefer to continue immediately after landing without travelling into central Berlin to change trains.
Berlin's Former Airports
Berlin Brandenburg Airport replaced the city's former Tegel Airport (TXL) and the old passenger facilities at Berlin Schönefeld Airport (SXF). Tegel closed to commercial passenger traffic in 2020, while the former Schönefeld site became part of the BER airport complex.
As a result, travellers booking current flights to Berlin should normally use the airport code BER. TXL and SXF are historical airport codes and should not be treated as active alternative passenger airports.
Useful Information for Arriving Passengers
Berlin Brandenburg Airport uses the IATA code BER and is located at Schönefeld, south-east of central Berlin. The airport's main railway station is located directly beneath Terminal 1 and is served by the Airport Express, regional trains and S-Bahn services.
Licensed taxis are available outside Terminal 1, while express buses, rental cars and car-sharing services provide additional transportation options.
When booking a private airport transfer, passengers should provide the correct flight details, terminal where known, complete destination address, number of travellers and realistic luggage requirements.
With airport transfers, chauffeur service and long-distance private transportation available from Berlin Brandenburg Airport, travellers can arrange their onward journey before arrival and travel directly to Berlin, Potsdam or destinations farther across Germany.
