Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Chongqing Airport
Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport (CKG) is the principal airport serving Chongqing, one of China’s largest municipalities and an important commercial centre in southwestern China. Located north of the central urban districts, the airport handles an extensive network of domestic flights as well as international and regional services.
The airport complex includes Terminal 2 and the Terminal 3 facilities. Terminal 3A is the main processing building, while Terminal 3B operates as a satellite concourse connected to Terminal 3A by an automated passenger transport system. Passengers should always check their terminal and flight information before travelling to the airport. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}
WelcomeTaxi provides pre-booked private transfers from CKG to hotels, residences, business districts, railway stations, cruise terminals and visitor attractions throughout Chongqing. Chauffeur service, hourly bookings and long-distance transfers to destinations across the wider municipality and neighbouring provinces can also be arranged.
Transportation from CKG to Central Chongqing
Travellers arriving at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport can reach the city by metro, railway, airport bus, regular taxi, app-based ride service or private transfer. The most suitable option depends on the final destination, arrival time, luggage volume and familiarity with the local transport network.
Chongqing is famous for its steep hills, multiple urban levels, bridges, tunnels and roads built at different elevations. A location that appears close on a map may require a longer journey than expected because of the terrain and road layout. Door-to-door transport can therefore be particularly valuable for first-time visitors.
Pre-Booked Private Airport Transfer
A private airport transfer provides direct transportation from the terminal to the passenger’s hotel or private address. The vehicle is reserved in advance and selected according to the number of travellers, suitcases and any special requirements included in the booking.
This option removes the need to buy local tickets, change metro lines or find the correct exit from a large underground station. It is especially convenient for families with children, elderly passengers, business travellers and groups carrying several pieces of luggage.
English-speaking drivers may be requested when booking. Availability can vary, but advance arrangements make communication easier for international visitors who do not speak Mandarin Chinese.
Chongqing Rail Transit
Chongqing Jiangbei Airport is connected to the city’s extensive urban rail network. Rail Transit Line 3 serves the Terminal 2 area, while Line 10 serves both Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. These services provide connections towards central districts and important interchange stations.
Line 10 is often useful for passengers travelling towards Chongqing North Railway Station and other parts of the city. Depending on the final destination, one or more changes may be required. Travellers heading towards Jiefangbei, Hongya Cave or other central areas will usually need to transfer to another line and complete the final section on foot or by taxi. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}
The rail system is economical and efficient for passengers travelling with light luggage. However, Chongqing’s large stations, long corridors and numerous exits can be difficult to navigate after a long flight, especially when carrying heavy suitcases.
Airport Railway Station
Terminal 3 is integrated with a major ground transportation centre that includes access to urban rail, taxis, buses and railway services. The airport railway station connects with the Chongqing railway network and can be useful for passengers continuing towards another station or regional destination.
Rail schedules and stopping patterns should be checked for the intended travel date. A train connection may be practical when the departure time matches the flight arrival, but passengers should allow enough time for immigration, baggage collection and finding the correct platform.
Airport Express Buses
Airport express buses connect CKG with selected districts, transport hubs and central locations in Chongqing. Depending on current operations, routes may serve areas such as Jiefangbei, Chongqing North Railway Station, Shapingba and Chongqing West Railway Station.
Buses normally operate to fixed stops rather than individual hotels. Passengers may therefore need to continue by metro, taxi or on foot. Operating hours and routes can change, so current information should be checked at the airport after arrival. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}
Regular Taxis and Ride-Hailing Services
Official taxis are available from designated ranks outside the airport terminals. App-based ride services are also widely used in Chongqing, although foreign visitors may experience difficulties with Chinese-language applications, mobile verification, local payment methods and complicated pickup areas.
Road travel time depends heavily on the destination and traffic conditions. Congestion can occur during commuting periods, weekends and public holidays. Passengers should use authorised pickup points and avoid accepting unsolicited transport offers inside the terminal.
Transfers to Downtown Chongqing
Private transfers from CKG can be arranged to all major commercial, residential and visitor districts. Popular destinations include Jiefangbei, Yuzhong District, Jiangbei District, Nan’an District, Shapingba, Guanyinqiao and the central business areas around the Yangtze and Jialing rivers.
Jiefangbei is one of the most common destinations for first-time visitors, with hotels, shopping streets and restaurants concentrated around the central pedestrian area. Nearby Hongya Cave and Chaotianmen are also popular, although road access and building entrances can be confusing because of the city’s unusual vertical layout.
Passengers should provide the complete hotel name and address when booking. A Chinese-language version of the destination is helpful because many international hotel names differ from their local names.
Transfers to Chongqing Railway Stations
Chongqing has several major railway stations serving different routes. These include Chongqing North Railway Station, Chongqing West Railway Station, Shapingba Railway Station and Chongqing East Railway Station. Passengers should confirm the exact departure station shown on their train ticket.
A private transfer is useful when connecting from a flight to a high-speed train, particularly for passengers unfamiliar with the city. The driver can take passengers directly to the correct station entrance, reducing the risk of travelling to the wrong terminal or railway station.
Connection times should include a suitable allowance for flight delays, baggage collection, road traffic, security checks and the time required to find the correct railway platform.
Transfers to Chaotianmen and Yangtze River Cruises
Chongqing is a major starting and finishing point for Yangtze River cruises, including journeys through the Three Gorges. Cruise passengers often travel between Jiangbei Airport, hotels in central Chongqing and departure points around Chaotianmen.
Port and cruise arrangements may vary according to river conditions, the ship operator and the specific itinerary. Passengers should provide the exact vessel name, boarding location and embarkation time when requesting transportation.
A pre-booked transfer is especially practical for cruise passengers carrying large suitcases. It avoids the difficulty of navigating steep streets, stairways and multi-level pedestrian routes near the riverfront.
Professional Chauffeur Service in Chongqing
WelcomeTaxi chauffeur service can be arranged for business appointments, exhibitions, private sightseeing and journeys involving several stops. A vehicle and driver may be reserved for an agreed number of hours, allowing passengers to follow a planned itinerary without arranging a new taxi for every journey.
Hourly hire is suitable for corporate travellers visiting offices or industrial areas, as well as tourists wishing to see several attractions in one day. The itinerary, estimated duration and planned stops should be provided before booking so that the correct vehicle and quotation can be prepared.
Larger vans and minibuses may be arranged for delegations, families and private groups. Vehicle selection should take account of both passenger capacity and the total amount of luggage.
Long-Distance Transfers from Chongqing Airport
Chongqing Municipality covers a very large geographical area, and many destinations are several hours from the central city. Private long-distance transfers can be arranged from CKG to locations such as Wulong, Dazu, Fuling, Nanchuan, Qianjiang, Wanzhou and other districts or counties.
Popular visitor destinations include the Dazu Rock Carvings, the Wulong Karst region and the Three Natural Bridges. Direct road transportation can be more convenient than travelling first to a railway or bus station, particularly for groups and passengers staying at hotels outside the main town centres.
Transfers can also be requested to destinations in neighbouring Sichuan and Guizhou provinces. For longer journeys, the route, travel duration, luggage requirements and any additional stops should be agreed in advance.
Other Airports in Chongqing Municipality
CKG is the main airport for central Chongqing, but the wider municipality also has several smaller regional airports. These include Wanzhou Wuqiao Airport, Qianjiang Wulingshan Airport, Chongqing Xiannvshan Airport and Chongqing Wushan Airport.
These regional airports serve distant parts of the municipality and should not generally be considered alternatives for reaching central Chongqing. Because the distances involved can be substantial, passengers must carefully verify the airport code and location shown on their ticket. :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}
Why Pre-Book Instead of Taking a Regular Taxi?
Pre-booking provides clear pickup arrangements and confirms that a suitable vehicle will be available. Passengers travelling with several suitcases or as part of a group can choose the appropriate vehicle before arrival rather than relying on what is available at the taxi rank.
The driver receives the destination and journey information in advance, reducing the risk of misunderstandings about hotel names, railway stations or cruise departure points. This is especially important in Chongqing, where addresses and entrances may be located on different road levels.
A private transfer also provides a direct journey without public transport changes. After an overnight or long-distance flight, many passengers value being taken directly to their accommodation rather than navigating a complex urban transport network.
Useful Information for Arriving Passengers
Always provide the complete flight number when booking an airport pickup. Passengers should also check whether their flight uses Terminal 2 or Terminal 3 and keep their telephone available after landing in case pickup coordination is required.
International travellers should save their booking confirmation, hotel details and important contact information before travelling. Some international websites and communication services may have limited availability in China.
Mobile payments are widely used, and foreign visitors may find it useful to prepare an accepted payment application before arrival. Foreign bank cards are not accepted by every local transport provider or business.
For departure transfers, allow sufficient time for traffic, terminal access, airline check-in and security. Chongqing’s road network includes many bridges and tunnels, so congestion or a road incident can significantly affect journey times.
Book a Private Transfer from CKG
WelcomeTaxi offers private airport transfers, chauffeur-driven vehicles and long-distance transportation from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. Services can be arranged to central hotels, railway stations, cruise terminals, business districts and destinations throughout Chongqing Municipality.
Booking in advance provides an organised door-to-door journey with a vehicle selected for the passenger count, luggage and itinerary. It is a comfortable solution for both first-time visitors and experienced business travellers arriving in Chongqing.
