Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Private Airport Transfers from Brussels South Charleroi Airport

Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL) is an important gateway to Belgium and a popular arrival point for passengers traveling to Brussels and other cities in the region. Although the airport carries the Brussels name, it is located near Charleroi, south of the Belgian capital, which makes onward transportation an important part of travel planning.

WelcomeTaxi offers pre-booked private airport transfers from CRL to Brussels, Charleroi and destinations throughout Belgium. Chauffeur service and long-distance transportation are also available for passengers who need more than a simple airport-to-city journey.

Getting from Charleroi Airport to Brussels

Passengers arriving at CRL can reach Brussels by airport shuttle, a combination of local bus and train services, regular taxi, rental car or pre-booked private transfer. Unlike Brussels Airport (BRU), Charleroi Airport does not have a railway station directly beneath the terminal, so public transport journeys typically require either a dedicated shuttle or an additional connection.

Airport Shuttle to Brussels

Dedicated shuttle buses connect Brussels South Charleroi Airport with Brussels-Midi railway station. Services are scheduled throughout the day and are designed around airport traffic, making the shuttle one of the most widely used public transport options between CRL and the Belgian capital.

The shuttle is practical for passengers traveling alone with limited luggage and staying near Brussels-Midi or somewhere easily reached by the city's public transport network. After arriving at the station, however, many travelers still need a metro, tram, train or taxi to reach their hotel or final address.

Bus and Train

It is also possible to combine local public transport with Belgium's railway network. This can be useful for passengers continuing beyond Brussels or traveling to a city with convenient rail connections.

Because the airport itself is not directly served by a train station, this option involves an additional transfer between the terminal and a railway station. Travelers carrying large suitcases, traveling with children or arriving late may find a direct car considerably simpler.

Regular Taxis

Taxis are available at Brussels South Charleroi Airport and provide direct transportation without the need to change vehicles. They are convenient for passengers who have not booked transportation in advance.

For the relatively long journey between CRL and Brussels, however, many travelers prefer to know their transportation arrangements before landing. A pre-booked private transfer also makes it easier to select the appropriate vehicle for the number of passengers and amount of luggage.

Rental Cars

Rental cars are another option at Charleroi Airport, particularly for travelers planning to explore Belgium independently or continue to several destinations during their stay. For passengers visiting central Brussels only, hiring a car may be less attractive because Brussels has extensive public transportation and city-center parking can add unnecessary complexity.

CRL to Brussels Private Transfers

A private transfer from Charleroi Airport provides a direct journey from the airport to a hotel, apartment, office or other address in Brussels. There is no need to wait for a scheduled shuttle, transfer luggage at Brussels-Midi or arrange another taxi after reaching the city.

This door-to-door format is particularly useful for families, groups, business travelers and passengers with several suitcases. Different vehicle categories can be arranged according to the size of the group and luggage requirements.

English-speaking drivers can be requested for international passengers who prefer easier communication during their journey in Belgium.

Transfers from CRL to Charleroi

Charleroi itself is much closer to the airport than Brussels. Travelers visiting the city for business, events or local accommodation can arrange a direct transfer from the terminal to their destination in Charleroi or the surrounding area.

A private car is also useful for passengers arriving at unusual hours or continuing to locations outside the main public transport corridors. Instead of coordinating several local connections, the journey can be completed directly to the requested address.

Chauffeur Service from Charleroi Airport

Not every journey from CRL ends with a single airport transfer. WelcomeTaxi can also arrange chauffeur service for travelers who have meetings, several appointments or a more complex itinerary after arrival.

Hourly chauffeur bookings are suitable for corporate travelers, delegations and visitors who need transportation between multiple locations. A driver and vehicle can be arranged around the planned schedule rather than booking a separate taxi for each segment.

This can be particularly convenient when an itinerary includes Brussels, Charleroi and other Belgian cities on the same day or when transportation is needed between offices, hotels and event venues.

Long-Distance Transfers from Brussels South Charleroi Airport

CRL is well positioned for road travel across southern and central Belgium. Private long-distance transfers can be arranged to destinations such as Namur, Mons, Liège, Leuven, Ghent, Bruges and Antwerp, as well as smaller towns that may require several public transport connections.

For groups or passengers with substantial luggage, a direct vehicle can be more practical than traveling through Brussels or changing between local buses and trains. The driver takes passengers from the airport directly to the requested destination without intermediate transfers.

Cross-border transportation can also be arranged depending on the itinerary and vehicle availability. Belgium's location makes CRL a practical starting point for journeys toward northern France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and neighboring parts of Germany.

Charleroi Airport to Ghent, Bruges and Antwerp

Many international travelers arriving at CRL are heading beyond Brussels. Ghent and Bruges are major tourism destinations, while Antwerp is an important center for business, culture and international travel.

Public transportation to these cities is possible, but the journey may involve reaching a railway station first and then changing trains or continuing from the destination station by taxi. A private transfer provides a continuous journey from the airport terminal to the hotel or private address.

This becomes particularly attractive for several passengers traveling together, as the convenience of one vehicle can outweigh the complexity of coordinating multiple public transport tickets and connections.

Transfers Between CRL and Brussels Airport

Brussels is served by two major airports with very different locations. Brussels Airport (BRU) lies northeast of the capital, while Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL) is situated well to the south. Passengers occasionally need to travel between them when connecting between airlines or combining separate flight reservations.

A pre-booked airport-to-airport transfer avoids traveling into central Brussels and changing between different public transport services. The driver collects passengers at one airport and takes them directly to the other, which can be especially useful with luggage or when connection time is limited.

Because road traffic around Brussels can vary considerably, passengers arranging a transfer between BRU and CRL should allow a generous margin before their departing flight.

Why Pre-Book a Transfer from CRL?

The main advantage of a pre-booked private transfer is a direct and organized journey. Transportation is arranged before the flight, so there is no need to choose between shuttle schedules, local connections or taxi options after landing.

Passengers can book a vehicle appropriate for their group, travel directly to the final address and avoid handling luggage during transfers between buses, trains and stations. This is particularly valuable after a late flight, when traveling with children, or when the destination is outside central Brussels.

For long-distance journeys, advance booking also makes it possible to plan the complete route rather than relying on several independent transport segments.

Useful Travel Information for CRL Passengers

Travelers should remember that Brussels South Charleroi Airport is not located in Brussels itself. The airport's location near Charleroi means that road journeys to central Brussels are considerably longer than journeys from Brussels Airport.

Traffic conditions can affect travel time, particularly on approaches to Brussels during busy weekday periods. Passengers traveling to an important meeting, railway departure or another airport should therefore leave sufficient time in their schedule.

Once in Brussels, visitors have access to an extensive metro, tram, bus and rail network. For many tourists, a private transfer is most useful for arrival and departure days, while public transportation works well for sightseeing within the city.

For travelers continuing directly to another part of Belgium, a private car can eliminate the need to enter Brussels at all. Whether the destination is the Belgian capital, a regional city or a cross-border location, a pre-arranged transfer from CRL provides a convenient door-to-door alternative to a multi-stage public transport journey.
