Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Private Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Dublin Airport

Dublin Airport (DUB) is the main international airport of Dublin and the busiest airport in Ireland. It serves the Irish capital, the wider Dublin region, and many destinations across the country. The airport is used by business travelers, tourists, students, conference guests, cruise passengers, and visitors continuing to other parts of Ireland after arrival.

Located north of Dublin city centre, Dublin Airport is a practical gateway for travel to the capital, the east coast, and long-distance routes across Ireland. Although the airport is relatively close to the city, traffic conditions, hotel location, luggage, group size, and arrival time can make airport transportation more complex than it first appears.

WelcomeTaxi provides private transfers from Dublin Airport to hotels, private addresses, offices, universities, cruise terminals, event venues, and regional destinations. A pre-booked airport transfer gives travelers a reserved vehicle, a clear pickup arrangement, and a direct journey to the final address.

Getting from Dublin Airport to the City

Dublin Airport is situated to the north of the city and is connected with central Dublin by road. Travel time to the city centre depends on traffic and the exact destination. Popular arrival areas include Dublin city centre, Temple Bar, Trinity College, St Stephen’s Green, the Docklands, IFSC, Ballsbridge, Ranelagh, Rathmines, Grand Canal, Smithfield, and the areas around major hotels and conference venues.

Passengers arriving at DUB can choose between airport buses, regular taxis, car rental, ride-hailing services where available, and pre-booked private transfers. Dublin does not have a direct metro or rail link from the airport to the city centre, so most airport journeys are made by road. This makes planning especially important during rush hours, bad weather, weekends, and major events.

Airport Buses from Dublin Airport

Airport buses are a common way to travel from Dublin Airport to the city. They serve selected stops in central Dublin and some surrounding areas. For solo travelers with light luggage and a hotel close to a bus stop, this can be an economical option.

The main limitation is that airport buses do not provide a direct door-to-door service. After reaching the nearest stop, passengers may still need to walk, take another bus, or use a taxi to reach the final address. This can be inconvenient with suitcases, children, elderly passengers, or late-night arrivals.

Regular Taxis from Dublin Airport

Regular taxis are available at Dublin Airport and can be suitable for simple journeys into the city. However, taxi availability, waiting times, luggage capacity, and final cost can vary depending on demand, time of day, traffic, and the exact route.

For travelers who prefer a more predictable arrival, a pre-booked private transfer is often more convenient. The vehicle is arranged in advance, the driver has the destination details before pickup, and the service can be planned according to the number of passengers and luggage. This is especially useful for families, corporate travelers, groups, and visitors going beyond central Dublin.

Car Rental from Dublin Airport

Car rental is available at Dublin Airport and may be useful for travelers planning an independent road trip around Ireland. However, it is not always the best option for visitors staying in Dublin itself. City driving, parking costs, traffic, one-way streets, and unfamiliar road rules can make rental cars less convenient for short city stays.

For many travelers, a private airport transfer is a simpler solution for arrival and departure days. It avoids the need to collect a rental car immediately after a flight, navigate into the city, or find parking at the hotel.

Private Transfers from Dublin Airport

WelcomeTaxi arranges private airport transfers from Dublin Airport to all main areas of the city and region. Popular destinations include Dublin city centre, Temple Bar, Trinity College, the Docklands, IFSC, Ballsbridge, RDS, Aviva Stadium, Croke Park, Phoenix Park, Dublin Port, Dún Laoghaire, Howth, Malahide, and surrounding towns.

A private transfer from DUB is designed for passengers who want a smooth, direct, and comfortable journey after arrival. Instead of waiting for transport or managing public bus stops, travelers can continue from the airport to their hotel, apartment, office, or event venue in a pre-arranged vehicle.

The service is useful for individual travelers, families, business guests, small groups, and passengers with extra luggage. Depending on availability and the route, vehicles may include sedans, executive cars, minivans, vans, or minibuses for larger groups.

Chauffeur Service in Dublin

Dublin is an important business, technology, education, and tourism destination. Many travelers arriving at Dublin Airport need more than a simple one-way transfer. WelcomeTaxi can arrange chauffeur service in Dublin for business meetings, conferences, roadshows, university visits, sightseeing, private events, and multi-stop itineraries.

Hourly chauffeur service is useful when travelers need a vehicle and driver available for several hours. This can be helpful for meetings in the city centre, the Docklands, Sandyford, Ballsbridge, or other business areas, as well as for hotel-to-event transfers, restaurant visits, and flexible city programs.

For corporate guests, a pre-booked chauffeur service provides a professional alternative to arranging separate taxis throughout the day. It helps keep the schedule organized and reduces the stress of moving between appointments in an unfamiliar city.

Long-Distance Transfers from Dublin Airport

Dublin Airport is also a convenient starting point for long-distance transfers across Ireland. Many passengers arrive at DUB and continue directly to other cities, towns, hotels, universities, golf resorts, wedding venues, or countryside destinations.

Private long-distance transfers can be arranged from Dublin Airport to destinations such as Galway, Cork, Limerick, Kilkenny, Waterford, Belfast, Wexford, Athlone, Kildare, Wicklow, Drogheda, Navan, and other locations depending on the itinerary.

For visitors traveling with luggage or arriving after a long flight, a direct private transfer can be much easier than combining airport buses, trains, intercity coaches, and local taxis. It provides a door-to-door journey from the airport to the final destination without multiple changes.

Transfers to Dublin Port and Cruise Terminals

Dublin Airport is frequently used by passengers connecting to Dublin Port, cruise ships, ferries, and coastal destinations. A private transfer from DUB to Dublin Port can be a practical choice for cruise passengers, families, and travelers with large luggage.

Pre-booking the transfer helps ensure that the pickup time, luggage capacity, and destination details are arranged in advance. This is especially useful when traveling between airport arrivals, ferry schedules, and cruise embarkation times.

Why Pre-Book a Transfer Instead of Taking a Taxi?

A regular taxi may work well for short trips, but pre-booked private transfers offer several advantages for airport travel. The service is arranged before arrival, the vehicle is selected for the passenger count and luggage, and the destination is confirmed in advance.

This is particularly valuable at Dublin Airport during peak arrival times, business travel periods, major events, sports matches, and holidays. Passengers do not need to search for transport after landing or worry about whether a suitable vehicle will be available for their group.

For travelers who need English-speaking drivers, child seats, extra luggage space, executive vehicles, or long-distance transfers, advance booking is strongly recommended. It gives the journey more structure and helps avoid unnecessary delays at the airport.

Useful Travel Information for Dublin Airport Arrivals

Passengers arriving at Dublin Airport should allow time for passport control, baggage claim, and walking through the terminal. The airport handles a high volume of flights, and arrivals can be busy during morning peaks, weekends, summer holidays, and major events in Dublin.

When booking a private transfer, travelers should provide the flight number, arrival date, passenger contact number, exact destination address, and luggage details. Dublin has many hotels, guesthouses, student residences, and office buildings with similar names, so a complete address helps make the transfer more accurate.

For departure transfers back to Dublin Airport, it is important to allow a comfortable time buffer. Traffic on routes from the city centre, business districts, coastal areas, or regional towns can vary depending on the time of day. A pre-booked transfer helps plan the pickup time more carefully and makes the journey to the airport less stressful.
