Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Al Maktoum International Airport

Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), also known as Dubai World Central, is Dubai’s second international airport and a major part of the Dubai South aviation and logistics development. Located south-west of central Dubai, close to Jebel Ali, Expo City Dubai, Dubai Investment Park, and the wider Dubai South area, DWC is designed to support the long-term growth of air travel in the emirate. For passengers arriving at or departing from this airport, a pre-booked private transfer is one of the most convenient ways to reach Dubai, Abu Dhabi, the Northern Emirates, or other regional destinations.

Unlike Dubai International Airport (DXB), which is much closer to the historic and central parts of Dubai, Al Maktoum International Airport is located farther from many of the city’s best-known hotel and business districts. This makes ground transportation planning especially important. A journey from DWC to Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah, Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, DIFC, Deira, or Dubai Creek can take a considerable amount of time depending on traffic and the exact destination. For visitors travelling with luggage, families, colleagues, or VIP guests, arranging an airport transfer in advance helps make the arrival experience smoother and more predictable.

Getting from DWC to Dubai

DWC is located in the Dubai South area, near Al Maktoum Airport Road and major highway connections. It is convenient for destinations such as Dubai South, Expo City Dubai, Jebel Ali, Dubai Investment Park, Dubai Parks and Resorts, and parts of the south-western side of Dubai. However, many popular visitor areas are farther away. Dubai Marina and JBR are closer than Downtown Dubai or Deira, while the old city, Dubai Creek, and northern districts require a longer drive.

For this reason, travellers should not assume that all “Dubai airport” transfers are similar in distance. A transfer from DWC can be very different from a transfer from DXB. The airport may be more convenient for some locations in southern Dubai, but less convenient for hotels and offices in central or northern districts. WelcomeTaxi helps passengers arrange the right private transfer from DWC based on the actual destination, route, luggage requirements, and preferred vehicle type.

Transportation Options from Al Maktoum International Airport

Passengers arriving at Al Maktoum International Airport have several ways to continue their journey. Taxis may be available at the airport, and ride-hailing services may operate depending on demand and pickup arrangements. There are also road connections to Dubai’s highway network, making private car transfers practical for both city journeys and intercity travel.

Public transport options around DWC are more limited than at Dubai International Airport. While Dubai has an excellent metro system, DWC is not as directly connected to the main tourist and business districts by metro as DXB. For passengers with luggage, children, late-night flights, early departures, or destinations far from public transport, a private airport transfer is usually the more comfortable and reliable choice.

Airport Taxis from DWC

Regular taxis can be suitable for simple point-to-point trips, especially when travelling light and heading to a straightforward address. However, vehicle size, waiting times, and availability can vary. For groups or passengers with multiple suitcases, it may be necessary to split into more than one taxi if a larger vehicle is not immediately available.

Ride-Hailing Services

Ride-hailing apps are commonly used in Dubai, but airport pickup procedures, waiting areas, vehicle categories, and prices can vary depending on demand and location. At an airport farther from central Dubai, availability may also be less predictable than in dense city districts. For business travellers, families, and groups, booking a transfer in advance removes much of this uncertainty.

Pre-Booked Private Transfers

A pre-booked private transfer from DWC provides a confirmed service arranged before the passenger lands. The pickup details, destination, vehicle type, and luggage capacity are agreed in advance, helping avoid last-minute decisions at the airport. This is particularly useful when arriving late, travelling to another emirate, carrying extra luggage, or coordinating transport for several passengers.

Private Airport Transfers from DWC

WelcomeTaxi arranges private airport transfers from Al Maktoum International Airport to all major areas of Dubai. Common destinations include Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Palm Jumeirah, Bluewaters Island, Jebel Ali, Dubai South, Expo City Dubai, Dubai Investment Park, Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, DIFC, Jumeirah, Deira, Bur Dubai, and Dubai Creek.

DWC can also be a convenient arrival point for passengers heading to theme parks, beach resorts, exhibition areas, industrial zones, logistics facilities, and residential communities in the south-western part of Dubai. For travellers arriving for events at Expo City Dubai, meetings in Dubai South, or accommodation near Jebel Ali, a private transfer from DWC may offer a direct and comfortable connection.

The right vehicle depends on the size of the party and the amount of luggage. A sedan may be suitable for up to three passengers with standard luggage, while a van or minibus is often better for families, groups, delegations, or travellers with several suitcases. For premium passengers, executives, and VIP arrivals, a business-class vehicle or chauffeur service can be arranged for a more polished travel experience.

Chauffeur Service in Dubai from DWC

Al Maktoum International Airport is often used by travellers whose plans involve business districts, exhibitions, private aviation, regional travel, or destinations outside the busiest central areas of Dubai. A chauffeur service is useful when a passenger needs more than a simple airport-to-hotel ride. It can be arranged for meetings, site visits, event transportation, hotel inspections, shopping trips, restaurant transfers, or a full-day itinerary around Dubai.

WelcomeTaxi provides chauffeur service in Dubai for hourly hire and multi-stop journeys. This is a practical solution when transport is needed between Dubai South, Jebel Ali, Dubai Marina, Downtown Dubai, DIFC, Business Bay, Palm Jumeirah, or other parts of the city. Instead of arranging separate taxis for every movement, passengers can keep the same vehicle and driver for a planned period.

For corporate clients, chauffeur service helps with timing and coordination. Dubai is a large city, and journeys between districts can be affected by rush-hour traffic, road works, events, and hotel or venue access rules. A pre-arranged car and English-speaking driver can make the schedule easier to manage, especially for international visitors unfamiliar with local geography.

Long-Distance Transfers from Al Maktoum International Airport

DWC is well positioned for long-distance transfers to several parts of the United Arab Emirates. Its location in the south-west of Dubai can be convenient for journeys toward Abu Dhabi, Yas Island, Saadiyat Island, Jebel Ali, Dubai Parks and Resorts, and some desert resorts. It can also serve as a starting point for transfers to Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain, and Al Ain, depending on the passenger’s itinerary.

Long-distance travel in the UAE is usually road-based, and private transfers are often more comfortable than combining taxis, public transport, or intercity connections. A pre-booked transfer allows the vehicle to be selected for the journey length, passenger comfort, and luggage volume. This is particularly important for families, golf travellers, business delegations, cruise passengers, and guests travelling directly to resorts outside Dubai.

WelcomeTaxi can also arrange airport-to-airport transfers between Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) and Dubai International Airport (DXB). Although both airports serve Dubai, they are located in different parts of the emirate. The journey can take significant time, especially during busy traffic periods, so passengers connecting between flights should plan carefully and allow enough time for airport formalities.

Why Pre-Book a Transfer from DWC?

A regular taxi can work well for some airport journeys, but a pre-booked transfer offers more control and comfort. This is especially relevant at DWC because the airport is farther from many central Dubai districts than DXB. After a long flight, passengers may not want to search for the right transport option, compare vehicle sizes, or explain a long route to a driver at the terminal.

With a private airport transfer, the service is organized before arrival. The route is known, the destination is confirmed, and the vehicle is chosen for the number of passengers and suitcases. For larger groups, this can prevent the need to split into several taxis. For business travellers and VIP guests, it creates a more professional arrival experience. For families, it reduces stress and makes the journey from the airport to the door easier.

Pre-booking is also helpful when the destination is outside Dubai. Transfers to Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, or other emirates require more planning than a short city ride. A private long-distance transfer provides a direct journey without changing vehicles, carrying luggage between transport modes, or negotiating arrangements after landing.

Local Transportation Specifics Around DWC

The area around Al Maktoum International Airport is modern, spacious, and connected to major roads, but it is not the same transport environment as central Dubai. Distances are longer, public transport coverage is more limited, and some destinations may be in developing districts, logistics zones, industrial areas, resorts, or event venues. Accurate pickup and drop-off details are therefore important.

Traffic conditions can vary by time of day. Routes toward Dubai Marina, Sheikh Zayed Road, Downtown Dubai, and the northern districts may become busier during peak hours. Travel toward Abu Dhabi can also be affected by highway traffic, events, and weekend movement. For departures from DWC, passengers should allow enough time for the drive, airport procedures, and possible delays on the road.

Luggage capacity is another practical detail. Dubai attracts travellers for shopping, conferences, exhibitions, cruises, golf, beach holidays, and family vacations. Many passengers travel with more luggage than a standard city taxi can comfortably hold. Booking a suitable private vehicle in advance helps avoid space issues at the terminal.

Useful Travel Information for DWC Passengers

Al Maktoum International Airport is particularly convenient for Dubai South, Expo City Dubai, Jebel Ali, Dubai Investment Park, Dubai Parks and Resorts, and some routes toward Abu Dhabi. It is farther from Downtown Dubai, Deira, Bur Dubai, Dubai Creek, and several older or northern districts. When comparing airport options in Dubai, travellers should consider not only the flight schedule but also the location of their hotel or final destination.

The climate in Dubai is another reason why direct private transport can be valuable. Summers are extremely hot, and even short outdoor walks with luggage can be uncomfortable. In winter, tourism and event demand is high, so airport and city transport can be busy. A pre-booked airport transfer from DWC provides a more comfortable start or end to the journey in any season.

English is widely used in Dubai’s tourism and business sectors, and WelcomeTaxi arranges transfers with English-speaking drivers where available. Whether travelling from DWC to a hotel in Dubai Marina, a meeting in Downtown Dubai, a resort in Abu Dhabi, another airport, or a long-distance destination across the UAE, a private transfer offers a clear, direct, and comfortable travel solution.
