Igor Sikorsky Kyiv International Airport (IEV) also known as Zhuliany airport is one of the two international airports serving the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, along with Boryspil International Airport (KBP). It is located in about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) southwest of the city centre. Kyiv International Airport is also one of the busiest business aviation hubs in Europe.
How to get from Kyiv International Airport to the city center
Public transport
Different minibus, bus and trolleybus routes connect Kyiv International Airport with metro stations Shuliavska, Dorohozhychi, Petrivka, Kontraktova Square, Lukyanivska, Vasyl'kivs'ka, Teremki and Syrets, as well as with Main Railway Station. Public transport runs from 06:30 till 22:30.
Taxi
Taking a taxi ride would be much more convenient way to get from Kyiv International Airport to the city center. You can use of the international ridesharing apps (for example, Uber or Bolt), or the local one (Uklon). Alternatively, you can accept offers from local taxi drivers, loudly inviting their passengers. Be aware, that there is no metered taxi, and you need to negotiate the price before to get in your taxi. It may become a real problem if you don't speak Ukrainian or Russian, since almost nobody among taxi drivers in Kyiv speaks English.
Pre-booked transfer
The most safe, reliable and convenient option for you would be to book and to pre-pay your transfer from Kyiv International Airport in advance. In this case you will be met by your driver with name tag straight in the arrival zone and hassle-free driven to your hotel or to any other destination in Kyiv or outside the city.
You can book your transfer from Kyiv International Airport at any transfer company offering their services on Internet. However, we urge you to take in consideration that WelcomeTaxi is one of the very few companies which can guarantee an English-speaking driver for you.
