Boryspil International Airport (KBP) is an international airport located in the city of Boryspil, 29 km (18 mi) east of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. It is Ukraine's largest airport, serving 65% of its passenger air traffic. Serving more than 9.4 million passengers in 2021, Boryspil International Airport occupies 22nd position in the list of the busiest airports in Europe.
How to get from Boryspil International Airport to Kyiv city center
Kyiv Boryspil Express
Express trains to the Main Railway Station (Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi) depart from Boryspil International Airport approximately every hour. Travel time is about 40 minutes. From the Main Railway Station (metro station Vokzalna) you can use public transport to reach your final destination in Kyiv.
Sky Bus
Similar option is to travel from Boryspil International Airport to Kyiv city taking Sky Bus (route 322), to South terminal of Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi railway station (Main railway station). The Sky Bus runs from Terminal D every 30-60 minutes at the day time and every 60-90 minutes in the night.
Taxi
In the first line of Terminal D you can find official taxi stand with metered cabs. However, do not expect that your taxi driver will speak English. It may also happen that you will need to wait at the taxi stand for the next available cab, especially in the night. Alternatively, you can use Uber, Bolt apps or the local Uklon to order a taxi, but take in consideration that there many customer complaints on the Net related to low quality service provided by these ridesharing apps. And for sure, you will need to speak some Ukrainian or Russian to communicate with drivers when trying to locate them at the airport upon arrival.
Pre-booked transfer
Undoubtedly, the most hassle-free and safe option to get from Boryspil International Airport to Kyiv is to pre-book and pre-pay your transfer in advance. In this case, your driver will monitor your flight status, will meet you with the name tag at the proper time straight in the arrival hall and will safely drive you to your hotel or to any other destination - be it in Kyiv or in any other Ukrainian city.
Of course, you can use whatever transfer company you will find on Internet. But we recommend you to book your transfer from Boryspil International Airport at WelcomeTaxi, since it is one of the very few companies able to guarantee an English-speaking driver for you.
