Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Murcia Airport
Región de Murcia International Airport (RMU) is the main commercial airport serving Murcia and the Costa Cálida in south-eastern Spain. Located south of Murcia city, the airport provides convenient access to the regional capital, Cartagena, the Mar Menor, La Manga and coastal resorts throughout the Region of Murcia.
WelcomeTaxi provides pre-booked private airport transfers from Murcia Airport to hotels, residences, resorts, business addresses and regional destinations. Passengers can organise their transportation before travelling and continue directly from the terminal with a professional English-speaking driver rather than arranging their onward journey after arrival.
Private transfers are suitable for individual travellers, couples, families, business passengers and groups. Chauffeur service and long-distance transfers can also be arranged for journeys across the Costa Cálida and destinations farther throughout south-eastern Spain.
Getting from Murcia Airport to the City
Región de Murcia International Airport is connected with Murcia city and regional destinations by road. Travellers can choose between scheduled buses, taxis, rental cars and pre-booked private transfers.
The most suitable option depends on the final destination, amount of luggage, passenger number and whether low cost or direct door-to-door convenience is the main priority.
Airport Bus to Murcia
Interbus operates a direct service between Murcia Airport and San Andrés Bus Station in Murcia city. This provides a practical public transport option for passengers whose accommodation is close to the city centre or a convenient onward connection.
The bus is economical for travellers with light luggage, but passengers staying away from the bus station may still need a taxi, local bus or another transfer for the final part of the journey.
A private airport transfer provides direct transportation from RMU to the exact hotel, residence or business address without an additional connection.
Bus Services to Cartagena and Coastal Resorts
Scheduled bus services also connect Murcia Airport with Cartagena and a range of coastal destinations. Routes from the airport serve areas including La Manga, Cabo de Palos, Los Alcázares, San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar, Mazarrón and other towns along the Costa Cálida.
These services can be useful for passengers whose accommodation is close to a scheduled stop. Travellers staying in resorts, villas or residential areas away from the main route may find a private transfer more convenient.
Taxis at Murcia Airport
Taxis are available directly from the airport and provide transportation to Murcia city and other destinations. The official airport taxi tariff currently includes a fixed fare to central Murcia.
A regular taxi is a practical option for passengers arranging transportation after landing. A pre-booked private transfer offers greater certainty before the flight and is particularly useful for families, groups or travellers continuing directly to a coastal resort.
Rental Cars
Rental cars are available for visitors planning to explore the Region of Murcia and neighbouring parts of south-eastern Spain independently.
For passengers travelling directly to a hotel or resort, however, renting a vehicle also means completing collection formalities, navigating unfamiliar roads and arranging parking. A chauffeur-driven transfer removes these additional steps.
Why Pre-Book a Private Transfer from RMU?
Pre-booking allows the airport journey to be organised before arrival. The pickup, destination, passenger number and vehicle requirements can all be specified in advance.
This is particularly useful in Murcia because many arriving passengers are travelling not only to Murcia city but also to Cartagena, Mar Menor resorts, La Manga and other coastal destinations.
Families and groups can reserve a vehicle with enough seating and luggage capacity rather than depending on the next available taxi.
For international visitors, travelling with an English-speaking driver can also make communication easier during the airport pickup and onward journey.
Transfers from Murcia Airport to Murcia City
Murcia city is the regional capital and one of the principal destinations for passengers arriving at RMU. It contains hotels, offices, universities, restaurants and cultural attractions throughout the urban area.
Direct airport buses provide an economical connection to San Andrés Bus Station, while taxis and private transfers offer direct road transportation.
A private transfer takes passengers directly to their hotel, apartment, residence or business address without requiring another local journey after reaching the city.
Murcia Airport Transfers to Cartagena
Cartagena is one of the most important cities in the Region of Murcia and a major tourism, business and cruise destination. Scheduled buses connect the airport with Cartagena Bus Station.
A private transfer provides direct door-to-door transportation to hotels, residences, business addresses or the port area without requiring passengers to continue from the bus terminal.
This can be particularly convenient for families, groups and passengers travelling with substantial luggage.
Transfers from RMU to La Manga
La Manga del Mar Menor is one of the best-known holiday destinations in the region, with hotels, apartments, beaches and resort developments along the narrow strip between the Mediterranean Sea and the Mar Menor lagoon.
Airport bus services operate towards La Manga and nearby destinations such as Cabo de Palos and Los Belones. A private transfer offers greater flexibility and takes passengers directly to their accommodation.
Transfers to the Mar Menor
The Mar Menor area includes popular destinations such as Los Alcázares, San Javier, Santiago de la Ribera and San Pedro del Pinatar. These towns attract visitors to beaches, resorts, golf facilities and residential accommodation.
Scheduled airport buses serve several of these locations, while a private transfer provides direct transportation to the exact hotel, apartment or villa address.
Transfers from Murcia Airport to Mazarrón
Mazarrón and Puerto de Mazarrón are important coastal destinations south-west of the airport. The area offers beaches, holiday accommodation, residential developments and resort communities.
Airport buses serve Mazarrón and surrounding locations on selected routes. A private transfer provides a direct alternative and is particularly useful for accommodation outside the main scheduled stops.
Chauffeur Service in Murcia and the Costa Cálida
WelcomeTaxi chauffeur service can be arranged for business schedules, sightseeing, events and personalised itineraries throughout the Region of Murcia.
The area combines cities, coastal resorts, golf developments and rural destinations spread across a broad region. A private vehicle with driver allows passengers to travel according to their own programme rather than arranging separate taxis or buses for each journey.
Hourly chauffeur service can also be useful for business meetings, events or itineraries involving several coastal destinations during the same day.
Regional Transfers across the Region of Murcia
Murcia Airport is a practical starting point for journeys throughout the region. Private transfers can be arranged to towns, resorts, hotels and residential destinations that may not have a convenient direct airport bus.
Travellers whose final destination is outside Murcia city can continue directly from the airport rather than travelling first to a central bus station simply to change transport.
Long-Distance Transfers from Murcia Airport
Private long-distance transfers provide an alternative to trains and intercity coaches when direct address-to-address transportation is preferred.
Journeys can be arranged from RMU to destinations farther across south-eastern Spain according to the required route and vehicle.
For groups, families and travellers with substantial luggage, remaining in one private vehicle throughout the journey can be considerably more convenient than changing transport several times.
Murcia Airport and Alicante Airport
Región de Murcia International Airport is the closest commercial airport to Murcia city, but Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport (ALC) is also a genuinely relevant alternative for travellers in the region.
Alicante Airport has a significantly larger route network and is approximately 98 kilometres by road from RMU. It is therefore frequently considered by passengers travelling to or from Murcia, particularly when a suitable flight is not available at RMU.
For Murcia city itself, RMU remains the closer airport. For destinations in the north-eastern part of the region and the southern Costa Blanca, the relative convenience of RMU and ALC depends on the exact location.
Useful Information for Arriving Passengers
Región de Murcia International Airport uses the IATA code RMU. It is the Region of Murcia's main commercial passenger airport and is operated by Aena.
Direct bus services connect the airport with Murcia and Cartagena, while additional routes serve destinations including La Manga, Mar Menor resorts, Mazarrón and coastal communities. Taxis and rental cars provide further ground transport options.
When booking a private airport transfer, passengers should provide the correct flight details, complete destination address, number of travellers and realistic luggage requirements. For villas, golf resorts and coastal properties, precise property information is particularly useful.
With airport transfers, chauffeur service and long-distance private transportation available from Murcia Airport, travellers can arrange their journey before arrival and continue directly to Murcia, Cartagena, La Manga, Mar Menor or destinations farther across south-eastern Spain.
