Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Shannon Airport
Shannon Airport (SNN) is one of Ireland's principal international airports and an important gateway to the west and south-west of the country. Located in County Clare, close to Shannon town and approximately 25 kilometres from Limerick, the airport is particularly convenient for travellers visiting Limerick, Ennis, Galway, the Cliffs of Moher and the Wild Atlantic Way.
WelcomeTaxi provides pre-booked private airport transfers from Shannon Airport to hotels, residences, business addresses and regional destinations. Passengers can organise their transportation before travelling and continue directly from the terminal with an English-speaking driver rather than arranging an onward journey after landing.
Private transfers are suitable for individual travellers, couples, families, business passengers and larger groups. Chauffeur service and long-distance transfers can also be arranged for journeys throughout western Ireland and farther across the country.
Getting from Shannon Airport to Your Destination
Unlike airports located within large city centres, Shannon Airport serves a broad regional area. Many passengers are not travelling to Shannon town itself but continuing to Limerick, Ennis, Galway, County Clare, Kerry or other destinations in western Ireland.
The main transport options are scheduled buses, taxis, rental cars and pre-booked private transfers. The most suitable choice depends on the final destination, arrival time, luggage and whether the passenger prefers public transport or direct door-to-door travel.
Buses from Shannon Airport
Bus services connect Shannon Airport with several important destinations in the region. Routes provide connections towards Limerick, Ennis, Galway and Cork, making public transport a practical option for passengers whose itinerary matches the available timetable.
Buses are generally the most economical choice for solo travellers and passengers with light luggage. However, they operate to designated stops rather than directly to every hotel, guesthouse or rural address. Travellers may therefore need another local bus, taxi or walk after reaching the nearest town.
A private airport transfer avoids these additional connections and takes passengers directly to the address provided when booking.
Taxis at Shannon Airport
Taxis are available at Shannon Airport and offer direct transportation to nearby towns and regional destinations. A regular taxi can be convenient for passengers who prefer to arrange their journey after arrival.
For longer trips, groups or passengers who want a specific vehicle type, pre-booking provides greater certainty. The transfer can be arranged around the number of passengers, luggage requirements and final destination before the flight.
Rental Cars
Car rental is popular at Shannon Airport because many visitors use the airport as the starting point for a road trip through western Ireland. Driving can provide excellent flexibility for exploring County Clare, Galway, Kerry and the Wild Atlantic Way independently.
For travellers who do not want to drive immediately after a flight, or who prefer not to navigate unfamiliar rural roads, a chauffeur-driven transfer provides an alternative. It also removes the need to collect a rental vehicle, arrange insurance and find parking at the destination.
Why Pre-Book a Private Transfer from SNN?
Shannon Airport serves a region where many popular destinations are located well beyond the airport itself. This makes door-to-door transportation particularly useful.
With a pre-booked transfer, the pickup, destination, passenger number and vehicle requirements are organised in advance. Travellers do not need to coordinate bus schedules or find another taxi after reaching the nearest town.
This is especially convenient for families, groups and passengers carrying substantial luggage. A vehicle with sufficient seating and baggage capacity can be selected beforehand rather than depending on the next available local car.
For international visitors, travelling with an English-speaking driver also makes communication straightforward throughout the journey.
Transfers from Shannon Airport to Limerick
Limerick is one of the main destinations served by Shannon Airport and is located around 25 kilometres east of the terminal. The city is an important business, university and tourism centre and has a wide selection of hotels and accommodation.
Scheduled buses connect Shannon Airport with Limerick, providing a practical public transport option. A private transfer offers direct transportation to a hotel, office, university, residence or other address without the need to continue from a bus stop.
For business travellers, chauffeur service can also be arranged for onward meetings and appointments in Limerick and the surrounding region.
Transfers from Shannon Airport to Ennis
Ennis is the county town of County Clare and lies north of Shannon Airport. It is a popular base for visitors exploring western Ireland and provides access to many of Clare's countryside and coastal attractions.
Passengers can travel between the airport and Ennis by scheduled bus or road transport. A private transfer provides direct delivery to the passenger's hotel, guesthouse or other accommodation.
Shannon Airport Transfers to Galway
Galway is one of Ireland's most popular visitor destinations and is frequently reached through Shannon Airport. The city lies north of the airport and is connected by the N18 and M18 corridor.
Direct and connecting bus services provide public transportation between Shannon Airport and Galway. These can work well for travellers staying near central stops and travelling according to a fixed timetable.
A private transfer offers a more flexible alternative. Passengers can leave the airport immediately after their flight and travel directly to a hotel, apartment or other address in Galway without additional local connections.
This can be particularly useful for families, groups and travellers arriving late or carrying several suitcases.
Transfers to the Cliffs of Moher
The Cliffs of Moher are among Ireland's most famous natural attractions and are located on the Atlantic coast of County Clare. Shannon Airport is one of the most convenient major airports for reaching this part of Ireland.
Public transport is possible, but journeys may require connections and are less convenient for travellers heading to rural hotels or accommodation outside the main towns.
A private transfer can take passengers directly from SNN towards the Cliffs of Moher area, Doolin, Lahinch or other destinations along the Clare coast. Chauffeur service can also be arranged when the journey forms part of a sightseeing itinerary with several stops.
Private Transfers to Doolin and County Clare
Doolin is a popular base for visiting the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and the Aran Islands ferry services. Other destinations across County Clare include Lahinch, Lisdoonvarna, Ballyvaughan and numerous countryside hotels and guesthouses.
Many of these locations are easier to reach by private road transport than by combining several scheduled services. A door-to-door transfer from Shannon Airport is particularly useful when accommodation is outside a town centre or when passengers are travelling with luggage.
Chauffeur Service in Western Ireland
WelcomeTaxi chauffeur service can be arranged for sightseeing, business schedules, events and customised itineraries throughout western Ireland.
The region includes cities, coastal roads, rural attractions, castles, golf resorts and countryside accommodation spread across considerable distances. A private car with driver allows passengers to travel according to their own schedule rather than coordinating several public transport services.
Chauffeur service can also be arranged for multi-stop journeys involving Limerick, Galway, County Clare or other destinations within the same itinerary.
Exploring the Wild Atlantic Way from Shannon Airport
Shannon Airport is particularly well positioned for travellers beginning a journey along Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way. The route follows the western coastline and passes through some of the country's best-known landscapes and visitor destinations.
From SNN, travellers can head north towards the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and Galway or south towards County Kerry and the Atlantic coast.
Private chauffeur service provides flexibility for itineraries involving several hotels and sightseeing stops. Passengers can travel directly between locations without returning to bus stations or coordinating different scheduled routes.
Long-Distance Transfers from Shannon Airport
Private long-distance transfers are useful when passengers want direct transportation from Shannon Airport to destinations farther across Ireland. They can be arranged according to the specific route, vehicle requirements and passenger itinerary.
For groups or families, a single chauffeur-driven vehicle can be particularly convenient compared with purchasing several tickets and carrying luggage through multiple transport connections.
Long-distance transfers can also be useful for travellers arriving at Shannon but departing later from another Irish city or airport as part of a wider itinerary.
Transfers from Shannon Airport to Killarney and Kerry
Killarney and County Kerry are major tourism destinations in south-western Ireland. Travellers arriving through Shannon Airport can continue south by road towards Killarney, Tralee and other parts of Kerry.
Scheduled public transport is available, but journeys may require connections. A private transfer provides direct door-to-door transportation, which can be particularly convenient for passengers staying in countryside hotels, resorts or accommodation outside the main transport hubs.
Transfers from Shannon Airport to Cork
Cork is another major city within reach of Shannon Airport by road. Bus connections operate between the regions, while private transportation provides a direct alternative for travellers whose final destination is a specific hotel, residence or business address.
For longer journeys such as Shannon to Cork, pre-booking can be especially useful because the vehicle, luggage capacity and route are arranged before arrival.
Business Travel from Shannon Airport
Shannon and Limerick form an important business and industrial region. International passengers may arrive for meetings, technology and manufacturing facilities, conferences or other corporate travel.
A chauffeur-driven transfer can take passengers directly from the airport to a business address, hotel or meeting venue. Hourly chauffeur service can also be arranged when several appointments are scheduled during the same day.
Useful Information for Arriving Passengers
Shannon Airport uses the IATA code SNN and is located in County Clare. Shannon town is only a few kilometres away, while Limerick is approximately 25 kilometres from the airport and Ennis approximately 20 kilometres to the north.
Bus services connect the airport with Limerick, Ennis, Galway, Cork and other destinations. Taxis and rental cars are also available for passengers arranging their transportation locally.
When booking a private airport transfer, passengers should provide the correct flight details, complete destination address, number of travellers and realistic luggage requirements. For rural accommodation, providing the exact property name and location is particularly helpful.
With airport transfers, chauffeur service and long-distance private transportation available from Shannon Airport, visitors can arrange their journey before arriving in Ireland and travel directly to their destination throughout the west and south-west of the country.
