Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Private Airport Transfers from Warsaw Modlin Airport
Warsaw Modlin Airport (WMI) is Warsaw’s principal secondary passenger airport and an important arrival point for low-cost flights to the Polish capital. The airport is located near Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, approximately 36 kilometres north of central Warsaw.
Unlike Warsaw Chopin Airport, which is situated within the city, Modlin Airport requires a longer road journey to most Warsaw hotels and business districts. A pre-booked private transfer offers direct transportation from the terminal to the passenger’s final address without changing between buses, trains or local taxis.
WelcomeTaxi provides airport transfers from WMI to central Warsaw, surrounding municipalities and destinations throughout Poland. Chauffeur service and long-distance transfers can also be arranged for business trips, private travel, events and airport-to-airport connections.
Getting from Modlin Airport to Warsaw
Passengers arriving at Warsaw Modlin Airport can choose between a private transfer, direct coach, train with an airport shuttle, regular taxi, ride-hailing service or rental car. The best option depends on the arrival time, luggage, group size and exact destination in Warsaw.
Pre-Booked Private Airport Transfer
A private transfer provides direct door-to-door transportation from Modlin Airport to a hotel, apartment, office, railway station or private residence. The vehicle is reserved exclusively for the booked party, without shared passengers or scheduled intermediate stops.
This option is particularly convenient for families, business travellers, groups and passengers carrying several suitcases. Advance booking also allows the vehicle category to be selected according to the number of travellers and their luggage requirements.
The complete destination and pickup arrangements are recorded before arrival. Passengers therefore do not need to compare transport options, wait for a scheduled departure or navigate several stages of public transportation after a flight.
Direct Airport Coaches
Direct coach services connect Warsaw Modlin Airport with central Warsaw. These services can be economical and convenient for individual travellers whose accommodation is close to the coach stop.
Coach journey times depend on traffic and may increase during weekday rush hours. Passengers staying outside the city centre may need to continue by metro, tram, bus or taxi after reaching Warsaw.
Scheduled services also require passengers to wait for the next departure. This may be inconvenient after a late arrival, when travelling with children or when carrying heavy luggage.
Train and Airport Shuttle Bus
Modlin Airport does not currently have a railway station directly inside the terminal. Passengers can use an airport shuttle bus between the terminal and Modlin railway station, then continue by train towards Warsaw.
This combined connection is a practical public transport option, but it involves transferring luggage between the shuttle and train. Depending on the final destination, another connection may be required after arriving in Warsaw.
The train-and-shuttle option works best for travellers with light luggage and flexible schedules. A private transfer is generally more comfortable for families, groups and passengers with an exact hotel or residential address.
Airport Taxis
Taxis are available for journeys from WMI to Warsaw, Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki and surrounding destinations. A regular taxi may be suitable for passengers who prefer to arrange transportation after landing.
Because central Warsaw is a considerable distance from the airport, passengers should confirm the fare or pricing method before beginning the journey. The first available vehicle may also be too small for a family or group with several large suitcases.
A pre-booked transfer is preferable when a minivan, child seats, an English-speaking driver or a specific vehicle category is required.
Ride-Hailing Services
App-based ride-hailing services may be available at Modlin Airport. Prices and waiting times vary according to demand, driver availability and traffic conditions.
Passengers should check the designated pickup area and selected vehicle size carefully. A standard car may not have enough luggage capacity for several passengers arriving with checked baggage.
Car Rental
Rental cars are available for passengers planning independent travel through Poland. A car can be useful for rural destinations, multi-city itineraries and accommodation outside the public transport network.
For a short stay in central Warsaw, renting a vehicle may be unnecessary. The capital has extensive public transportation, while traffic, parking restrictions and central parking costs can make driving inconvenient.
Why Pre-Book a Transfer from WMI?
The distance between Modlin Airport and central Warsaw makes advance planning particularly valuable. A private transfer removes the need to coordinate a bus or train connection and then arrange additional transportation within the city.
A pre-booked transfer is especially useful when:
- your flight arrives late at night or early in the morning;
- you are travelling with children or elderly passengers;
- you have several suitcases or oversized luggage;
- your group requires a minivan, van or minibus;
- your accommodation is outside central Warsaw;
- you need to connect with a flight at Chopin Airport;
- you prefer an English-speaking driver.
Unlike a scheduled coach or train, a private transfer leaves according to the confirmed pickup arrangements and travels directly to the booked address. The vehicle can also be matched in advance to the group and luggage requirements.
Transfers to Central Warsaw
WelcomeTaxi provides private transfers from Modlin Airport to hotels, apartments and business addresses throughout Warsaw. Common destinations include Śródmieście, the Old Town, Wola, Mokotów, Praga, Żoliborz, Ochota, Ursynów and Wilanów.
Travel time varies according to traffic and the final district. Journeys to northern Warsaw may be shorter than transfers to southern areas such as Mokotów, Ursynów or Wilanów.
Some streets around the Old Town are pedestrianised or subject to vehicle access restrictions. Where the exact accommodation entrance cannot be reached, the driver will use the closest safe and legally permitted stopping point.
Passengers staying in private apartments should provide the complete address, building number and any useful arrival instructions.
Transfers Between Modlin and Chopin Airports
Warsaw has two principal passenger airports. Warsaw Modlin Airport mainly serves low-cost traffic, while Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) is the capital’s primary international and domestic aviation hub.
Passengers with separately booked flights may need to travel between WMI and WAW. The airports are located on opposite sides of the metropolitan area and are not connected by an internal airport shuttle or protected flight-transfer system.
A private airport-to-airport transfer provides direct transportation without changing between a local bus, train and additional city transport. It is particularly convenient for families, groups and travellers carrying checked luggage.
Travel time can vary substantially because the route crosses or passes around Warsaw. Passengers should allow a generous margin for baggage collection, road traffic, check-in, security and unexpected delays. Tight self-connections between WMI and WAW should be avoided.
Transfers to Warsaw Railway and Bus Stations
Private transfers are available from Modlin Airport to Warszawa Centralna, Warszawa Zachodnia, Warszawa Wschodnia and other railway stations across the capital.
Warszawa Centralna serves many domestic and international rail routes. Warszawa Zachodnia is an important hub for trains and long-distance coaches, while Warszawa Wschodnia serves eastern Warsaw and onward railway connections.
A private vehicle is useful when passengers have substantial luggage, limited time or a separately booked onward journey. The correct station, train number and departure time should be supplied when booking.
Transfers to Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki and the Modlin Area
Warsaw Modlin Airport is located near Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki rather than within Warsaw itself. Private transfers can be arranged to hotels, residences and business addresses in the local area.
The region is also known for Modlin Fortress, located near the confluence of the Vistula and Narew rivers. Transportation can be arranged between the airport, local accommodation and sites around the fortress area.
Passengers should provide the full address because properties described as being in Modlin or Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki may be located in different parts of the surrounding area.
Chauffeur Service in Warsaw and Mazovia
WelcomeTaxi’s chauffeur service can be arranged for business meetings, conferences, official visits, sightseeing and private events. A vehicle with a driver may be booked for a single journey or for an agreed number of hours.
Hourly chauffeur hire is convenient when the itinerary includes several addresses. A business schedule may involve Modlin Airport, central Warsaw, Wola, Mokotów, government offices, embassies and regional business locations.
A sightseeing itinerary may include Warsaw’s Old Town, Łazienki Park, Wilanów Palace and destinations elsewhere in the Mazovia region. The driver provides transportation between stops and remains available during the reserved period, subject to the agreed itinerary, mileage and parking arrangements.
An English-speaking driver can be requested, subject to availability. Chauffeur service provides professional transportation rather than a guided tour, so travellers requiring detailed commentary should arrange a licensed guide separately.
Regional and Long-Distance Transfers from Modlin Airport
WMI is conveniently positioned north of Warsaw and can be a practical starting point for road travel to destinations in northern, central and eastern Poland. WelcomeTaxi can arrange direct long-distance transfers without requiring passengers to travel into central Warsaw first.
Łódź
Private transfers are available from Modlin Airport to Łódź, one of Poland’s largest cities and an important centre for business, education, film and cultural events.
Door-to-door transportation can be more convenient than travelling through Warsaw with luggage, especially when the final address is outside central Łódź.
Toruń
Toruń is a historic city on the Vistula River and a popular destination for tourism, university travel and business. A private transfer offers direct transportation to hotels, residences and event venues.
Olsztyn and Masuria
Transfers can be arranged to Olsztyn and destinations throughout the Masurian Lake District. Many lakeside hotels, holiday homes and resorts are located outside major railway and bus routes.
The complete destination address is important because rural properties may be far from the nearest town. Travel time can also vary during summer holidays and weekend traffic.
Białystok
Private transportation is available from WMI to Białystok and other destinations in northeastern Poland. This can be convenient for passengers arriving on flights that do not operate to a closer regional airport.
Gdańsk and the Baltic Coast
Long-distance transfers may be arranged to Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot and other destinations on the Baltic coast. These journeys cover a substantial distance, so passengers should allow time for comfort and refreshment stops.
Lublin and Eastern Poland
Transfers can also be requested south-east towards Lublin and surrounding areas. Depending on traffic and the final address, travelling directly from the airport may be easier than making several public transport changes in Warsaw.
Warsaw Radom Airport and Other Regional Connections
Warsaw Radom Airport (RDO) is located near Radom, south of Warsaw. Despite its Warsaw branding, it is considerably farther from the capital and serves selected passenger routes.
Airport-to-airport transfers can be arranged between WMI, WAW and RDO. Passengers making separately booked connections should allow substantial time because the airports are widely separated and road traffic can be unpredictable.
Vehicles for Individuals, Families and Groups
A private car is generally suitable for one to three passengers with standard luggage. Families and small groups may require a minivan or van, while larger parties can request minibuses, coaches or several coordinated vehicles.
The suitcase count must be provided accurately. A vehicle may offer enough seats but insufficient luggage capacity when every passenger carries a large case.
Child seats, wheelchairs, bicycles, sports equipment and other special items should be declared before booking. This allows an appropriate vehicle to be confirmed and reduces the risk of delays at pickup.
Useful Travel Information
Polish is the official language, while English is widely used at airports, international hotels and many tourism businesses. English proficiency among drivers varies, so passengers who consider it essential should request an English-speaking driver when booking.
Poland uses the Polish złoty. Cards and contactless payments are widely accepted, although some local cash can still be useful.
Warsaw has an extensive metro, tram, bus and suburban rail network. Public transportation is effective within the city, but a private transfer is often more convenient for the initial journey from Modlin Airport.
Winter snow and ice, summer roadworks, weekday congestion and major events can increase journey times. Passengers travelling to another airport, railway station or fixed appointment should allow sufficient time.
Book a Private Transfer from Warsaw Modlin Airport
WelcomeTaxi provides private airport transfers, chauffeur service and long-distance transportation from Warsaw Modlin Airport. Book direct travel to a Warsaw hotel, arrange an airport-to-airport transfer to WAW, hire a chauffeur for business or sightseeing, or continue by private vehicle to another destination in Poland.
For an accurate quotation, provide your flight details, pickup date and time, complete destination address, passenger count and luggage information. Child seats, additional stops, oversized items and special vehicle requirements should be included in the request.
