Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Private Transportation in Prague

Prague is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic, as well as one of Central Europe’s major tourism and business destinations. Its historic centre, Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square and extensive cultural attractions bring visitors throughout the year, while the city also serves as an important starting point for travel to other parts of the Czech Republic and neighboring European countries.

WelcomeTaxi provides pre-booked private transfers and chauffeur service in Prague for individual travellers, families, business passengers and groups. Transportation can be arranged between the airport, hotels, apartments, railway stations and other addresses, as well as for longer journeys to Czech and international destinations.

Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) Transfers

Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) is the main international airport serving Prague and the primary arrival point for passengers flying to the Czech capital. The airport is located to the west of the city and has two main passenger terminals handling flights within and outside the Schengen Area.

A pre-booked private airport transfer provides direct transportation from PRG to your hotel, apartment, office or other destination in Prague. Instead of arranging transportation after landing, passengers can have a suitable vehicle reserved before the trip, which is particularly convenient when travelling with luggage, children or a larger group.

Transfers can also be booked from Prague to Václav Havel Airport for departing flights. A scheduled pickup from a hotel or private address helps passengers plan the journey around their departure time without having to search for a taxi immediately before leaving.

Pardubice Airport (PED) as a Regional Alternative

Pardubice Airport (PED) is located in Eastern Bohemia, approximately 100 km from Prague. It is considerably smaller than PRG and should not be regarded as Prague’s main airport, but it can be relevant when a particular flight itinerary uses Pardubice or when passengers are combining Prague with destinations east of the capital.

A pre-booked private transfer between Pardubice Airport and Prague offers a direct alternative to combining local transportation with rail or bus services. For most international visitors, however, Václav Havel Airport Prague remains the natural and most convenient air gateway to the city.

Getting from Prague Airport to the City Centre

Prague Airport is connected with the city by public transportation. Passengers can use bus and trolleybus routes to connect with the Prague Metro, while the Airport Express service provides a connection towards the main railway station. Taxi services are also available directly from the airport terminals.

Public transport works well for many travellers, particularly those with light luggage and accommodation close to a convenient metro or tram stop. However, most journeys from the airport to central Prague require at least one connection if using ordinary public transport.

A private transfer removes the need to change between buses and the metro or carry luggage through stations. The driver takes passengers directly from the airport to their final address, making this option especially useful after a long flight, for families, business travellers and groups requiring a larger vehicle.

Private Transfers within Prague

Prague has an extensive public transport system of metro lines, trams and buses, and many parts of the historic centre are easily explored on foot. For everyday sightseeing inside central Prague, public transport is often practical and efficient.

Private transportation becomes more useful when the journey involves substantial luggage, an early or late departure, several passengers, business appointments or destinations outside the central tourist districts. Transfers can be arranged between hotels, railway stations, conference venues, residential addresses and other locations throughout the Prague metropolitan area.

Advance booking also allows travellers to select an appropriate vehicle category rather than relying on whichever car happens to be available at the time of travel.

Chauffeur Service in Prague

WelcomeTaxi chauffeur service in Prague is designed for journeys where passengers need a private vehicle and professional English-speaking driver for more than a simple airport transfer. It can be arranged for business schedules, corporate events, private sightseeing, shopping, restaurant visits and customised itineraries.

A chauffeur-driven vehicle is particularly convenient when several appointments or attractions need to be visited during the same day. Instead of arranging a new taxi for every journey, passengers can plan their transportation around a predefined itinerary and service period.

Chauffeur service can also be used for trips outside Prague. Travellers may combine the capital with castles, spa towns, historic cities or other destinations in the Czech Republic while keeping the same private transportation arrangement.

Long-Distance Transfers from Prague

Prague’s central location makes it an excellent starting point for private road transfers throughout the Czech Republic. Popular destinations include Karlovy Vary, Český Krumlov, Brno, Plzeň, Kutná Hora and other cities and tourist areas.

Private transfers are especially convenient for destinations that require several public transport connections or where passengers are travelling with substantial luggage. Door-to-door transportation can also save time when the itinerary includes accommodation outside a railway station or city centre.

Cross-border transfers can be arranged to destinations in neighboring countries, including Dresden, Vienna and other Central European cities. This can be useful for travellers planning a multi-city European itinerary without returning to the airport between destinations.

Prague to Karlovy Vary

Karlovy Vary is one of the Czech Republic’s best-known spa destinations and a common excursion or onward stop from Prague. A private transfer provides direct transportation from a Prague hotel or airport to accommodation in Karlovy Vary without the need to coordinate several stages of the journey.

Prague to Český Krumlov

Český Krumlov is another popular destination for visitors exploring the Czech Republic. Because it lies well south of Prague, a private car can be particularly convenient for travellers carrying luggage or continuing onward rather than returning to Prague on the same day.

International Transfers from Prague

Prague is within practical road distance of several major Central European destinations. Private transfers can form part of itineraries connecting the Czech capital with cities in Germany, Austria and neighboring countries. Such journeys are particularly suitable for families, small groups and travellers who prefer direct transportation between hotels rather than airports or railway stations.

Why Pre-Book a Transfer Instead of Taking a Regular Taxi?

A regular taxi is useful for spontaneous short trips around Prague, but airport and long-distance transportation benefits from advance planning. With a pre-booked transfer, the vehicle is reserved specifically for the passenger’s journey and can be selected according to the number of travellers and their luggage.

This is important for families, groups and passengers who need vans or other larger vehicles. Advance booking also makes it easier to organise airport pickups, early departures and journeys outside Prague where finding another suitable taxi at short notice may be less convenient.

For long-distance travel, pre-booking also avoids having to negotiate an intercity journey with a local taxi after pickup. The route and transportation requirements are arranged before the trip begins.

Prague Railway Stations and Onward Travel

Prague is an important railway hub with direct connections to many Czech and European cities. Praha hlavní nádraží, the main railway station, is located close to the city centre and is widely used by visitors continuing to destinations elsewhere in the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Slovakia and beyond.

Private transfers can connect Prague Airport directly with the main railway station or provide transportation between railway stations, hotels and other addresses. This can be particularly useful when travelling with multiple suitcases or when a flight and train journey form part of the same itinerary.

Useful Travel Information for Prague

Prague’s historic centre contains many pedestrian streets and areas where vehicle access can be restricted. Some hotels and apartments, particularly around Old Town and Malá Strana, may therefore require pickup at the closest accessible point rather than directly outside the entrance.

Traffic conditions also vary considerably depending on the time of day. Travellers heading to the airport, railway station or an important appointment should allow sufficient time for urban traffic, especially during weekday peak periods.

For sightseeing within the historic centre, walking and public transport remain excellent choices. Private transfers are most valuable when comfort, luggage capacity, direct transportation or precise scheduling are more important than simply travelling a short distance across central Prague.

Book a Private Transfer or Chauffeur in Prague

WelcomeTaxi offers private airport transfers, chauffeur service and long-distance transportation in Prague and throughout the Czech Republic. Services can be arranged for arrivals and departures at Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG), journeys involving Pardubice Airport (PED), railway station transfers, corporate travel and customised regional itineraries.

Whether you need a direct airport pickup, a private car for several hours or an intercity journey from Prague, booking in advance provides convenient door-to-door transportation with a professional English-speaking driver and a vehicle suitable for your trip.
