How to get from central Budapest to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport
By taxi
There is no Uber in Hungary, but you can use another Uber-like ridesharing app here: Bolt. Alternatively, you can call by phone one of the local taxi companies or just take a metered cab at a street taxi stand. Taxi fares are subject of government regulation here. The ride from city center to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport should typically cost about 7200 HUF (26 EUR), however this sum may increase in case of heavy traffic. Language barrier can easily turn into a problem, since Hungarian cabbies rarely speak English or any other foreign language.
By public transport
There are two bus routes connecting Budapest with its international airport. Bus 100E runs to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport from Deák Ferenc Square in the city center. It departs every 15-30 minutes with a 3-hours night interval. Bus 200E departs for the airport from Kőbánya-Kispest metro station at the day time and from Határ út metro station in the night.
By train
There is no train station at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport. The closest railway station is Ferihegy, accessible by train from Budapest Nyugati railway station in Budapest. From the Ferihegy station you can reach the airport by bus 200E.
Private transfer
No doubt, the most quick, reliable and convenient option to get from Budapest to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport to the city of Budapest or to any other city within Hungary would be a private transfer. If you book and pre-pay your transfer in advance, you have nothing more to worry about. Your driver will meet you at the door of your hotel, will assist you with your luggage and will safely drive you to the airport.
Although there are many companies offering airport transfers in Budapest, we recommend you to choose WelcomeTaxi, since unlike many other competitors, we can always dispatch an English-speaking driver to you.
