About Hévíz

Hévíz is a famous spa town in Zala County, Hungary. The town is located near Lake Hévíz, the second-largest thermal lake of the world. Its temperature even on the coldest winter days doesn’t drop below 24 °C (75 °F), it makes bathing possible year round.

The lake's healing properties have been well known by local people as far back as the end of the Stone Age. The Romans in the 2nd century brought here the bath culture. The city and the bath began the significant development in the 18th century.

How to get from Hévíz to Budapest Airport

Train

There is no train station is Hévíz. The nearest one is Keszthely train station reachable by bus which departs from Hévíz bus station every 30 minutes. From Keszthely station you should take a train to Budapest-Kelenfoeld station, where you have to change for another train to Koebanya-Kispest station. At Koebanya-Kispest station take a bus to Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport. The total travel time will be 4h 45m.

Bus

The direct bus from Hévíz to Budapest runs 4 times a day, travel time is 2h 40m. At Budapest bus station (Népliget metro station) you should take another bus to Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport (runs every 30 minutes, travel time 20 minutes).

Private transfer
