About Maribor
Maribor is the second-largest city of Slovenia and the main city of the hystorical region of Lower Styria.
The city was first mentioned in 1254. Like most Slovene ethnic territory, Maribor was a part of Habsburg empire until 1918, when it joined the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs, and later became a part of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Since dissolving of Yugoslavia in 1991 Maribor is a part of independent Slovenia.
