Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Private Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service in Bangkok
Bangkok is Thailand’s capital and one of Southeast Asia’s most important centres for tourism, business, shopping and international travel. The city combines historic temples, riverside neighbourhoods and traditional markets with modern commercial districts, luxury hotels, convention venues and some of the region’s largest shopping centres.
Getting around Bangkok can take time, particularly during busy periods. The metropolitan area is extensive, traffic conditions vary throughout the day, and many journeys require several changes when using public transportation. A pre-booked private transfer provides a direct and comfortable alternative, especially when travelling with luggage, children, colleagues or a larger group.
WelcomeTaxi offers private airport transfers, point-to-point transportation, hourly chauffeur service and long-distance transfers in Bangkok and throughout central Thailand. Services can be arranged for individual passengers, families, business travellers, tour groups and event participants.
Bangkok Airport Transfers
Bangkok is served by two major airports: Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and Don Mueang International Airport (DMK). Both handle significant passenger traffic, but they are located in different parts of the metropolitan area. It is therefore important to check the airport code shown on your booking before arranging transportation.
Transfers from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK)
Suvarnabhumi Airport is Bangkok’s principal international gateway and receives flights from destinations across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and other regions. It is located east of central Bangkok and is connected to the city by expressways and the Airport Rail Link. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}
A private transfer from BKK is particularly convenient after a long international flight. Instead of navigating the terminal with luggage, purchasing train tickets or joining a taxi queue, passengers can travel directly to their hotel or private address. Transfers can be arranged to central districts such as Sukhumvit, Silom, Sathorn, Siam, Riverside, Pratunam and the historic centre around Rattanakosin.
Direct transport is also available from Suvarnabhumi Airport to destinations outside Bangkok. Popular routes include Pattaya, Chonburi, Rayong, Ayutthaya, Hua Hin and other cities or resorts in central and eastern Thailand.
Transfers from Don Mueang International Airport (DMK)
Don Mueang International Airport is located north of central Bangkok. It is widely used by domestic and regional airlines and is an important arrival point for passengers travelling between Bangkok and destinations elsewhere in Thailand or Southeast Asia.
Private transfers from DMK can be arranged to hotels, serviced apartments, conference centres and transport terminals throughout Bangkok. The service is useful for travellers arriving with several bags, families requiring child seats, business passengers following a fixed schedule and groups that need a van or minibus.
Passengers connecting between DMK and BKK should allow sufficient time. The two airports are on opposite sides of the metropolitan area, and the journey may be affected by Bangkok traffic. Although an airport shuttle service operates between them, a private inter-airport transfer offers door-to-door transport without waiting for a scheduled departure. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}
Private Transfers Within Bangkok
Bangkok covers a large urban area divided by the Chao Phraya River and an extensive network of major roads, expressways and smaller local streets. A destination described simply as “Bangkok” may be far from another address in the same city, so accurate pickup and drop-off details are important.
A private point-to-point transfer is suitable for journeys between hotels, residences, offices, hospitals, shopping centres, embassies, exhibition venues and transport terminals. Unlike a regular taxi journey arranged at the last minute, a pre-booked service allows the vehicle class, passenger capacity and luggage requirements to be confirmed in advance.
Private transport can also be useful for evening journeys, early departures and trips involving locations that are not conveniently connected by BTS Skytrain or MRT services. The driver collects passengers at the agreed location and takes them directly to their destination without unnecessary changes.
Chauffeur Service in Bangkok
An hourly chauffeur service is a practical choice when several stops are planned during the same day. The vehicle remains available for the booked period, allowing passengers to travel between appointments or attractions without arranging a separate taxi for every journey.
Business travellers may use a chauffeur-driven car for meetings in areas such as Sathorn, Silom, Sukhumvit, Asoke, Ratchadaphisek or the central business district. The service can also be arranged for conferences, exhibitions, corporate delegations, diplomatic visits and private events.
For leisure travellers, hourly hire provides greater flexibility when visiting temples, markets, shopping centres and riverside attractions. A typical itinerary may include the Grand Palace area, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, Chinatown, Jim Thompson House or one of Bangkok’s major shopping districts. Travellers should plan a realistic schedule because journey times can vary considerably depending on traffic and the time of day.
Long-Distance Transfers from Bangkok
Bangkok is a convenient starting point for private road travel to many destinations in central, eastern and western Thailand. Long-distance transfers provide direct transportation from a hotel, airport or private address to another city without the need to reach a bus station or railway terminal.
Pattaya is one of the most frequently requested destinations from Bangkok and Suvarnabhumi Airport. Private transport can also be arranged to Jomtien, Chonburi and Rayong, including hotels, resorts and industrial areas along Thailand’s eastern coast.
Ayutthaya, the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam, can be reached on a private day trip or as a one-way transfer. Other possible destinations include Kanchanaburi, known for its historic sites and natural surroundings, and Hua Hin, a coastal resort southwest of Bangkok.
Longer journeys to other parts of Thailand may also be available depending on the route, vehicle type and required schedule. For extended travel, advance booking is recommended so that the appropriate vehicle and driver can be arranged.
Why Pre-Book Instead of Taking a Regular Taxi?
Bangkok has many local transportation options, including metered taxis, ride-hailing services, buses, river boats, the BTS Skytrain, MRT lines and the Airport Rail Link. Public transport is useful for many city journeys, but it may not provide a direct connection to a hotel or final destination.
A pre-booked private transfer is especially valuable when the journey involves an airport arrival, several passengers or a substantial amount of luggage. The correct vehicle capacity can be selected beforehand, and important requirements such as child seats, additional stops or group transportation can be included in the reservation.
Pre-booking also helps passengers avoid uncertainty about vehicle availability during peak travel periods, bad weather or major events. The pickup location, route and destination are recorded in advance, reducing the risk of misunderstandings after arrival.
For business travellers, private transportation offers a more controlled schedule and an appropriate environment between meetings. Families benefit from travelling together in one vehicle, while larger groups can reserve vans, minibuses or coaches instead of splitting across several taxis.
Local Transportation and Travel Planning
Traffic congestion is an important consideration when planning transportation in Bangkok. Travel times may increase during weekday commuting periods, around major shopping areas and before public holidays. Heavy rain can also slow road traffic, particularly during the wet season.
Passengers travelling to an airport should leave sufficient time for the journey and check which terminal and airport are shown on the flight reservation. BKK and DMK are separate airports, and travelling to the wrong one can cause a significant delay.
The BTS Skytrain and MRT systems are efficient for many journeys within the central city, while the Airport Rail Link connects Suvarnabhumi Airport with Bangkok’s urban rail network. However, passengers may still need to walk, change lines or take another vehicle to reach their accommodation. Private airport transport eliminates these additional stages and provides direct service to the requested address.
When booking a transfer, provide the complete hotel name and address, flight number, pickup time, number of passengers and total luggage. For pickups from private apartments or buildings with restricted access, it is helpful to specify the entrance or meeting point.
Vehicles for Individuals, Families and Groups
Different vehicle categories can be arranged according to passenger numbers, luggage and service requirements. Sedans are suitable for individuals and small parties, while minivans and vans provide additional space for families and groups. Minibuses and coaches may be requested for conferences, organised tours, weddings and other larger events.
Executive and premium vehicles are available for corporate travel, VIP guests and occasions where a higher level of comfort is required. The selected vehicle should always have sufficient capacity for both passengers and luggage, especially for airport journeys.
Book a Private Transfer in Bangkok
WelcomeTaxi provides international booking support for private transportation in Bangkok and other destinations throughout Thailand. Services include airport pickups, hotel transfers, hourly chauffeur hire, intercity journeys and group transportation.
Pre-booking gives travellers a clear transportation plan before arrival. Whether the journey begins at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang Airport, a Bangkok hotel or a private address, passengers can reserve a suitable vehicle for direct and comfortable travel.
