Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Private Transportation in Tashkent and Across Uzbekistan
Tashkent is the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan, as well as the country’s main centre for international travel, commerce and government. Its broad avenues, landscaped parks and Soviet-era architecture stand alongside traditional neighbourhoods, bazaars, mosques and modern business developments.
For many international visitors, Tashkent is the first stop on a journey through Uzbekistan. Some passengers remain in the capital for meetings or sightseeing, while others continue to Samarkand, Bukhara, the Fergana Valley or mountain resorts outside the city.
WelcomeTaxi offers pre-booked private transfers and chauffeur services for travellers who want transportation arranged before arrival. Services can be booked between the airport and a hotel, between city addresses, for several appointments during the day or for a direct long-distance journey to another region.
Tashkent Airport Transfers
Tashkent International Airport (TAS), officially named Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport, is the main airport serving the Uzbek capital. It handles the majority of the country’s international air connections as well as domestic services to other cities in Uzbekistan.
The airport is located within the wider urban area, but journey times still vary depending on traffic, the destination district and access to the passenger’s hotel or residence. A pre-booked airport transfer provides direct transportation to central Tashkent, business districts, railway stations and surrounding neighbourhoods.
Popular destinations include hotels around Amir Temur Square, the city centre, Mirabad, Yakkasaray, Chilanzar, Yunusabad and the areas near major government and commercial buildings. Transfers can also be arranged directly from the airport to destinations outside Tashkent.
International and Domestic Terminal Transfers
Tashkent Airport operates separate facilities for different flight types. Passengers connecting between an international arrival and a domestic departure should check the terminal information carefully, as changing terminals may involve a road transfer rather than a simple walk inside one building.
A private transfer can be arranged between terminals when required. Complete flight details, connection times and the number of passengers should be provided in advance so that an appropriate pickup schedule can be planned.
Meet-and-Greet at Tashkent Airport
Passengers may request a meet-and-greet service for their airport arrival. With this option, the driver waits in the designated arrivals area with a name sign, helping the passenger identify the correct representative after leaving the terminal.
This service can be particularly helpful for first-time visitors, business guests, families and passengers who do not speak Uzbek or Russian. Travellers should provide a working mobile telephone number and the correct flight number so that the pickup can be coordinated efficiently.
Chauffeur Service in Tashkent
An hourly chauffeur service is a convenient option for passengers with several appointments or stops. Instead of ordering a different taxi for each journey, travellers can reserve a private vehicle with a driver for an agreed period.
Chauffeur hire may be used for business meetings, government appointments, conferences, shopping, restaurant visits, medical travel and sightseeing. It is also suitable for corporate delegations whose schedule includes waiting time or may change during the day.
Tashkent covers a large urban area, and destinations that appear close on a map may require additional travel time because of traffic, road layouts and building access. Providing the full itinerary in advance allows the driver to plan a practical route between the required locations.
Business and Corporate Travel
Tashkent is Uzbekistan’s principal commercial and administrative centre. International companies, banks, embassies, exhibition venues and government institutions are located across different districts of the city.
Private chauffeur transportation can be arranged for executives, visiting partners, conference participants and corporate guests. Services may include airport pickup, hotel transportation, several meetings and an evening return to the passenger’s accommodation.
When several vehicles are required, it is advisable to provide passenger names, contact numbers and individual schedules in advance. This helps coordinate arrivals and prevents confusion when members of the group are travelling on different flights.
Getting Around Tashkent
Tashkent has a public transportation system that includes the metro, buses and local taxis. The city’s metro is known for its distinctive station architecture and is useful for travelling between many central districts.
Public transport can be practical for independent travellers with limited luggage, but it may be less convenient after a long flight, during extreme summer heat or when travelling with children and several suitcases. Some hotels, residential developments and business locations are also not immediately adjacent to a metro station.
Local taxis and ride-hailing services are widely available. However, vehicle standards, luggage space and communication in English may vary. For an important airport pickup, group journey or fixed business schedule, booking a private transfer in advance offers a clearer and more predictable arrangement.
Popular Destinations in Tashkent
Private transportation can be arranged to Tashkent’s main cultural, historical and commercial locations. Chorsu Bazaar and the surrounding old-city area offer a view of traditional trade and daily life, while the nearby Khast Imam complex is one of the capital’s most important religious sites.
Other frequently visited places include Amir Temur Square, Independence Square, the Museum of Applied Arts, the State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan and the city’s parks, theatres and restaurants.
A chauffeur-driven sightseeing itinerary can combine several locations in one day. Passengers should provide their preferred stops and approximate duration when making the request. Drivers provide transportation and normal journey assistance but do not replace a licensed professional guide unless a guiding service has been arranged separately.
Long-Distance Transfers from Tashkent
Tashkent is a practical starting point for road travel to mountain resorts, historic cities and other regions of Uzbekistan. A private long-distance transfer provides direct door-to-door transportation without the fixed departure times or shared seating associated with buses and trains.
Tashkent to Samarkand
Samarkand is one of Uzbekistan’s most important historic destinations and a central stop on many Silk Road itineraries. Although fast trains connect the two cities, a private transfer can be more convenient for travellers with substantial luggage, families, groups or passengers continuing to a location outside central Samarkand.
Pickup can be arranged from a Tashkent hotel, private residence, railway station or the airport. Any required stops should be specified in advance so that they can be included in the route and quotation.
Tashkent to Chimgan and Charvak
The Chimgan Mountains and Charvak Reservoir are popular destinations for recreation, hiking, winter activities and resort stays. They are located east of Tashkent and can be reached by private road transfer.
Mountain weather and road conditions can change seasonally. Passengers travelling in winter or carrying ski equipment should mention this when booking so that vehicle suitability and luggage capacity can be considered.
Tashkent to the Fergana Valley
Long-distance transfers can also be arranged from Tashkent to cities in the Fergana Valley, including Kokand, Margilan, Fergana and Andijan. The road journey crosses mountainous terrain and may take longer than expected from the straight-line distance.
A private transfer is useful for passengers travelling directly to a hotel, factory, private address or regional business location. For longer journeys, sensible rest stops can be included in the itinerary.
Tashkent to the Kazakhstan Border
Transportation may be requested from Tashkent to locations near the border with Kazakhstan. Cross-border services depend on carrier permissions, border regulations and vehicle documentation and therefore require advance confirmation.
Passengers remain responsible for their passports, visas and entry requirements. Border processing times cannot be guaranteed and should be considered when planning onward travel or flights.
Transfers to Tashkent Railway Stations
Rail travel is an important part of many Uzbekistan itineraries. High-speed and conventional trains connect Tashkent with Samarkand, Bukhara and other regional destinations.
A private station transfer can be arranged from the airport, hotel or another city address. Passengers should provide the exact station name and train departure time, as Tashkent has more than one passenger railway facility.
It is advisable to arrive with sufficient time to find the correct entrance, complete security procedures and reach the platform. Travellers carrying heavy luggage may find direct door-to-door transportation more convenient than using buses or the metro.
Why Pre-Book Instead of Taking a Regular Taxi?
A regular taxi may be suitable for a spontaneous short journey within Tashkent. However, it may not offer the right capacity for an airport arrival, a larger family or several pieces of luggage.
With a pre-booked private transfer, the date, pickup time, route, passenger number and vehicle category are confirmed before the service. The driver receives the journey information in advance, reducing the need to negotiate or explain a complicated destination after entering the vehicle.
Pre-booking is particularly valuable for early-morning departures, important meetings, long-distance routes and passengers requiring child seats or a larger vehicle. Additional stops and unusual luggage can also be included in the booking request.
Vehicles for Individuals and Groups
Different vehicle categories may be arranged according to local availability. Sedans are suitable for individual travellers, couples and small groups with limited luggage. Minivans and vans provide additional space for families, business groups and passengers carrying several suitcases.
Minibuses and coaches may be requested for larger groups, conferences and organised travel. The stated luggage volume should always be considered together with the passenger count, particularly for airport transfers.
Oversized baggage, sports equipment, wheelchairs, pushchairs and other special items should be declared before booking. This makes it possible to select a vehicle with sufficient usable storage space.
Useful Travel Information
Tashkent experiences hot summers and cold winters, so door-to-door transportation can be particularly comfortable during periods of extreme weather. Traffic is generally busiest during weekday commuting hours and near markets, railway stations and major commercial areas.
Addresses can sometimes be described using district names, landmarks or nearby institutions. Providing the full hotel or business name and an accurate map location helps the driver identify the correct entrance.
Uzbek and Russian are widely spoken in Tashkent. English is increasingly used in tourism and international business, but proficiency varies. WelcomeTaxi can request an English-speaking driver to assist with essential pickup and journey communication.
Booking a Tashkent Transfer
To request transportation, provide the pickup and drop-off locations, date, time, number of passengers and total luggage. Airport bookings should include the flight number, while railway transfers should contain the train details and exact station.
For chauffeur hire, include the planned itinerary and estimated duration. Long-distance requests should state the complete destination, required stops and any special timing requirements.
Advance booking is recommended for groups, child seats, premium vehicles, multi-stop routes and journeys outside Tashkent. Clear information helps ensure that the proposed vehicle and service match the passenger’s actual requirements.
