Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Private Transfers and Chauffeur Service in Tokyo
Tokyo is one of the world’s largest and most dynamic cities, combining modern business districts, historic neighborhoods, luxury shopping, and world-famous food culture. As the capital of Japan, the city attracts millions of international visitors every year for tourism, business travel, conferences, and long-term stays. Reliable transportation is an important part of traveling in Tokyo, especially for visitors arriving after long international flights or planning regional travel across Japan.
WelcomeTaxi provides private transfers and chauffeur service in Tokyo with professional English-speaking drivers and pre-booked transportation for airport arrivals, city travel, business meetings, and long-distance journeys. Our service is designed for travelers who prefer comfort, predictable pricing, and a smooth travel experience in Japan.
Airport Transfers in Tokyo
Tokyo is served by two major international airports: Narita International Airport and Haneda Airport. Both airports handle large volumes of domestic and international passengers, but they are located in different areas and require careful transportation planning.
Narita International Airport Transfers
Narita International Airport is located in Chiba Prefecture, approximately 60–80 kilometers from central Tokyo depending on the destination district. Travel time can vary significantly because of traffic conditions and the size of the metropolitan area.
Many travelers arriving at Narita prefer a pre-booked private transfer instead of navigating train systems immediately after arrival. This is especially useful for families, business travelers, passengers with multiple suitcases, and visitors arriving late at night.
WelcomeTaxi offers direct private transfers from Narita Airport to hotels, apartments, offices, cruise terminals, and train stations throughout Tokyo and neighboring cities.
Haneda Airport Transfers
Haneda Airport is located much closer to central Tokyo and is often considered the most convenient airport for business travelers and short stays. The airport provides excellent domestic and international connectivity and has become one of the busiest airports in Asia.
Private airport transfers from Haneda are a practical option for travelers who want fast and comfortable transportation directly to their destination without changing trains or dealing with crowded stations.
Our chauffeur service from Haneda Airport is available for transfers to Tokyo hotels, Yokohama, Disneyland Resort areas, and other destinations across the Kanto region.
Why Choose a Private Transfer in Tokyo
Tokyo has one of the most advanced public transportation systems in the world. However, the city can still be difficult to navigate for first-time visitors. Large train stations, language barriers, rush-hour congestion, and complex transfer routes can make arrival stressful, particularly after international flights.
A pre-booked private transfer offers several advantages:
Comfortable Door-to-Door Transportation
Instead of carrying luggage through busy train stations or searching for a taxi queue, passengers are picked up directly at the airport or hotel and transported to the final destination.
Fixed Pricing
Taxi fares in Tokyo can become expensive on longer routes, especially from Narita Airport or during heavy traffic. A pre-booked transfer provides transparent pricing agreed in advance.
English-Speaking Drivers
Communication can sometimes be difficult in Japan outside major tourist areas. English-speaking drivers help international travelers feel more comfortable and simplify the arrival process.
Professional Service for Business Travelers
Tokyo is one of the world’s leading business destinations. Corporate travelers often require punctual transportation between airports, hotels, conference venues, and offices. Chauffeur service provides a reliable and efficient solution for executive transportation.
Chauffeur Service for Business and Leisure Travel
Tokyo is a city where business and tourism often overlap. Visitors may attend meetings in Marunouchi during the day and explore Shibuya, Ginza, or Asakusa in the evening.
WelcomeTaxi chauffeur service is suitable for:
- airport pickups,
- business meetings,
- corporate roadshows,
- hotel transfers,
- private sightseeing,
- luxury transportation,
- event transportation,
- family travel,
- cruise terminal transfers.
Private transportation is also useful for travelers visiting multiple destinations within a limited schedule. Instead of navigating train connections with luggage, passengers can travel directly and comfortably between cities and tourist regions.
Long-Distance Transfers from Tokyo
Tokyo is an important transportation hub for regional travel across Japan. Many visitors combine Tokyo with other destinations during the same trip.
Tokyo to Mount Fuji and Hakone
The Mount Fuji and Hakone region is one of the most popular excursions from Tokyo. While public transport is available, train and bus connections may require several transfers.
Private transfers allow travelers to reach ryokans, resorts, and sightseeing locations directly with flexible schedules and luggage convenience.
Tokyo to Yokohama
Yokohama is located south of Tokyo and is a major cruise and business destination. Private transfers between Tokyo, Yokohama hotels, and Yokohama Port are popular among cruise passengers and business travelers.
Tokyo to Kyoto and Osaka
Long-distance chauffeur transfers between Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka are suitable for travelers who prefer flexible schedules, multiple stops, or private group transportation. Although Japan’s Shinkansen network is highly efficient, private transportation can still be practical for families, VIP clients, and travelers carrying significant luggage.
Transportation in Tokyo
Tokyo’s transportation infrastructure is extensive but can appear overwhelming for visitors unfamiliar with Japan.
Rail Network
The city is served by JR lines, Tokyo Metro, Toei Subway, private railways, and high-speed Shinkansen connections. Major stations such as Tokyo Station, Shinjuku Station, and Shibuya Station are among the busiest in the world.
Train travel is efficient but may become difficult during peak hours because of crowding and station complexity.
Taxis in Tokyo
Taxis in Tokyo are generally safe, clean, and professional. However, they can be expensive compared to other transportation options, especially for airport routes and longer journeys. Finding larger vehicles for groups or passengers with multiple suitcases may also be challenging without advance booking.
Cruise Port Transfers
Tokyo and Yokohama receive international cruise ships throughout the year. Cruise passengers often require transportation between airports, hotels, and cruise terminals with sufficient luggage capacity and reliable timing.
Pre-booked transfers simplify the process and reduce the stress of coordinating transportation on embarkation and disembarkation days.
Travel Tips for Visitors to Tokyo
Japan is known for punctuality, organization, and high service standards. Planning transportation in advance helps visitors save time and avoid unnecessary stress.
Important travel considerations include:
- traffic congestion during rush hours,
- limited luggage space on some trains,
- complex station layouts,
- language differences,
- long airport distances,
- seasonal tourism peaks,
- weather conditions during typhoon season.
Booking a private transfer in advance is especially useful for late-night arrivals, early departures, families with children, elderly travelers, and visitors unfamiliar with Japanese transportation systems.
Private Transportation Across Japan
In addition to Tokyo airport transfers and city transportation, WelcomeTaxi provides long-distance private transportation throughout Japan. Travelers can arrange transfers between major cities, ski resorts, countryside destinations, cruise ports, and regional airports.
Our international private transfer service combines local transportation expertise with the convenience of English-language support and online booking.
Whether visiting Tokyo for business, tourism, shopping, or a wider Japan itinerary, private chauffeur service offers a practical and comfortable way to travel.
