Naples International Airport (NAP) is an international airport serving Naples and the Campania region of southern Italy. According to 2021 figures, the airport serves 4,636,501 passengers and is the 5th busiest airport in Italy, 1st in southern Italy and 48th in Europe. The airport is home to easyJet, Ryanair, Volotea and Wizzair. Located 5.9 km (3.7 mi) north-northeast of the city centre, in the San Pietro a Patierno district of Naples, the airport is officially named Aeroporto di Napoli-Capodichino Ugo Niutta, after World War I pilot Ugo Niutta.

How to get from Naples International Airport to Naples

🚌 Bus

If you're traveling alone or on a budget, the Alibus Shuttle might be a good choice for you. The Alibus Shuttle is located at the Naples Airport (NAP) bus station, about 50 meters outside the terminal. A one-way ticket only costs EUR 5, and buses leave every 20 to 30 minutes. You can buy your ticket directly from the bus driver, from the information kiosk in the arrivals hall or from the Tabacaria Sun store. The total travel time from Naples Airport (NAP) to Piazza Garibaldi is approximately 15 minutes.

There is also a local bus line 3S, for 1.10 euros, but it runs less frequently, is less comfortable, and is located outside the airport building.

The Alibus shuttle service is available from 06:00 to 23:00 and the 3S local bus service is available Monday to Friday from 06:10 to 21:30 and Saturday from 07:30 to 21:30.

If you're on a tight budget or have a little extra time, a ride on the Alibus Shuttle might be a good option. However, once you arrive at Piazza Garibaldi train station, you will need to find other means of transport to reach your hotel.

🚕 Taxi

Apparently, Uber is unavailable at Naples International Airport. Taxi lane is located just in front of Arrivals. Flat rates are in use for predetermined urban and suburban routes (City Center, Molo Beverello, Mergellina, Pompei, Caserta etc). The predetermined rates include any extra charge. For instance, the ride from Naples International Airport to the city center of Naples will cost EUR 18.

If you don't speak Italian, consider that having your exact drop off address written in Italian language would be a smart trick, since Italian taxi drivers (and especially in Southern Italy) normally do not speak English.
