Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Bukhara Airport

Bukhara International Airport (BHK) is the principal passenger airport serving Bukhara and the surrounding part of western Uzbekistan. Located close to the city, it provides convenient access to Bukhara’s historic centre, modern districts, hotels, railway stations, business locations, and regional destinations.

Bukhara is one of Uzbekistan’s most important cultural and tourism centres. Its old city formed a major stop on the Silk Road and remains known for its madrasas, mosques, trading domes, courtyards, and historic monuments. Visitors arrive for cultural tours, pilgrimage travel, business, conferences, family visits, and journeys connecting several cities across Uzbekistan.

WelcomeTaxi provides pre-booked private transfers from Bukhara Airport for passengers who prefer to have their transportation arranged before arrival. Services include direct airport pickups, transfers to hotels and private addresses, chauffeur-driven vehicles for hourly use, and long-distance travel to cities and attractions beyond Bukhara.

Getting from Bukhara International Airport to the City

Bukhara Airport is situated within easy driving distance of the main urban area. Nevertheless, the exact journey depends on the location of the hotel or residence. Some travellers stay near the historic centre around Lyabi-Hauz, while others choose modern hotels, business accommodation, private apartments, or properties outside the central tourist district.

A private airport transfer takes passengers directly from the terminal to the requested destination. There is no need to search for the correct bus, explain the route to several drivers, or change vehicles with luggage. This is particularly convenient after an international flight, during late arrivals, and for visitors who do not speak Uzbek or Russian.

Passengers should provide the complete name and address of their accommodation when booking. Many hotels and guesthouses are located in or near the historic quarters, where narrow streets, pedestrian zones, and access restrictions can affect the nearest possible drop-off point. Accurate details help the transport provider plan the most suitable route.

Private Airport Transfers

A pre-booked private transfer is arranged specifically for the passenger or group. The vehicle is selected according to the number of travellers, luggage requirements, route, and requested service level.

Sedans are suitable for individuals, couples, and small parties with standard luggage. Families and groups can request minivans, vans, minibuses, or coaches, depending on local availability. Business and VIP passengers may choose an executive vehicle or chauffeur service for a more formal arrival.

English-speaking drivers can be requested in advance. Availability may vary according to the vehicle category and travel date, so passengers who require assistance in English should include this preference in their original booking request.

Airport Taxis

Taxis may be available outside Bukhara Airport for travellers arranging transport after landing. They can be practical for a simple journey into the city when a suitable vehicle is immediately available.

However, passengers may still need to confirm the fare, payment method, luggage capacity, and exact destination with the driver. Communication can also be more difficult for visitors who do not speak a local language.

A pre-booked transfer provides greater certainty. The route, pickup details, passenger count, luggage, and vehicle type are arranged beforehand. This is especially useful for groups, families with children, business travellers following a schedule, and passengers continuing to another city.

Public Transportation

Local public transportation may offer an economical way to travel between the airport area and parts of Bukhara. It is generally most suitable for passengers who know the local system, carry little luggage, and do not require door-to-door service.

Routes and operating times can change, and public transport may not stop close to every hotel or guesthouse. Travellers may need to walk or take an additional taxi for the final part of the journey. Passengers planning to use public transportation should check current local information shortly before arrival.

Car Rental

Car rental may appeal to travellers planning an independent road trip across Uzbekistan. Driving provides flexibility for visiting smaller towns and rural destinations that are not always easy to reach by scheduled transport.

Before renting a vehicle, visitors should consider licence requirements, insurance, deposits, road conditions, parking, fuel arrangements, and local driving practices. Historic areas can have narrow streets and limited vehicle access. Travellers who do not wish to drive may find a private transfer or chauffeur-driven car more convenient.

Why Pre-Book a Transfer from BHK Airport?

Pre-booking allows travellers to organise the journey before their flight. The pickup date, arrival details, destination, passenger count, luggage, and required vehicle category can all be confirmed in advance.

This removes the need to compare transport options immediately after landing. The service is particularly valuable for first-time visitors to Uzbekistan, passengers arriving at night, families travelling with children, and groups requiring more than one standard car.

A reserved vehicle also offers a clear door-to-door itinerary. Instead of travelling to a bus terminal or railway station and arranging another connection, passengers can continue directly to their hotel, meeting point, tourist site, or next city.

For corporate travellers, advance booking helps maintain a planned schedule between the airport, hotel, office, and meeting venue. For organised tours, a suitable van, minibus, or coach can be arranged for the entire group rather than finding several separate taxis on arrival.

Chauffeur Service in Bukhara

WelcomeTaxi offers chauffeur service in Bukhara for travellers who need a vehicle for several hours or for a full programme of appointments. Hourly hire can be used for city sightseeing, business meetings, shopping, restaurant visits, pilgrimage routes, wedding transportation, or transfers between several hotels and venues.

With hourly chauffeur service, the vehicle remains available according to the confirmed schedule. This is often more practical than ordering a new taxi for every journey, particularly when passengers have several stops or need to keep luggage and personal belongings in the vehicle.

Corporate clients may arrange chauffeur-driven cars for executives, visiting partners, conference delegates, and event guests. Larger vehicles can be requested for teams or tour groups. The planned duration, passenger count, approximate itinerary, and any waiting periods should be provided when requesting a quotation.

Exploring Historic Bukhara

Bukhara’s UNESCO-listed historic centre contains many of the city’s best-known landmarks within a relatively compact area. Major attractions include the Poi Kalyan complex, Kalyan Minaret, Ark Fortress, Lyabi-Hauz, Chor Minor, the Samanid Mausoleum, and the old trading domes.

Much of the old city is best explored on foot. A chauffeur service is more useful for journeys between accommodation and the historic centre, airport and railway transfers, visits to attractions outside the central walking area, or itineraries combining Bukhara with surrounding towns and pilgrimage sites.

Popular destinations outside the main historic centre include the Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa palace, the Chor Bakr memorial complex, and the Bahauddin Naqshband complex. A private vehicle makes it easier to combine several locations in one day without relying on separate taxis for each stage of the journey.

Pilgrimage and Cultural Routes

Bukhara is an important destination for Islamic heritage and pilgrimage travel. Visitors may arrange private transportation to the Bahauddin Naqshband complex and other sites associated with the Seven Saints of Bukhara.

These journeys often involve several stops outside the city. Booking a vehicle for the complete route allows the schedule to be planned in advance and avoids repeated negotiations with local taxis. Travellers should provide the full itinerary and expected service duration so that an appropriate quotation can be prepared.

Long-Distance Transfers from Bukhara Airport

Bukhara Airport is also a convenient starting point for private road transfers to other destinations in Uzbekistan. Long-distance service can be arranged directly from the arrivals terminal, allowing passengers to continue their journey without entering the city or changing at a railway or bus station.

Common destinations include Gijduvan, Navoi, Samarkand, Karshi, Khiva, Urgench, and towns throughout the Bukhara and Navoi regions. Transportation can also be requested to desert camps, rural guesthouses, industrial sites, and other locations not easily reached by public transport.

Gijduvan and the Bukhara Region

Gijduvan is known for its traditional ceramics and forms a popular addition to cultural itineraries around Bukhara. A private transfer can be arranged as a one-way journey, return excursion, or part of a longer route towards Navoi and Samarkand.

Other regional journeys may include Romitan, Kagan, Vabkent, rural pilgrimage sites, and accommodation in desert areas. Because some destinations are outside regular urban taxi zones, arranging the complete journey beforehand is advisable.

Navoi

Navoi is an important industrial and administrative city northeast of Bukhara. Private transfers between Bukhara Airport and Navoi are suitable for business travellers, engineering specialists, contractors, and passengers visiting industrial facilities in the region.

The service can also cover Navoi International Airport, hotels, railway stations, and addresses outside the city. Business passengers should provide the precise destination, as travel distances can vary considerably between central Navoi and industrial sites elsewhere in the region.

Samarkand

Samarkand and Bukhara are frequently combined in Uzbekistan travel itineraries. Rail services provide a popular connection between the cities, but a private road transfer may be preferable when passengers have substantial luggage, require hotel-to-hotel transportation, or wish to stop in Gijduvan or Navoi along the way.

A private vehicle also provides flexibility when train schedules do not match the planned itinerary. The journey should be booked with sufficient time for road conditions, rest stops, and access to the final address in Samarkand.

Khiva and Urgench

Khiva and Urgench are major long-distance destinations west of Bukhara. The road journey is considerably longer than a local airport transfer and crosses sparsely populated areas. A suitable vehicle, experienced driver, realistic schedule, and planned rest stops are therefore important.

Travellers continuing to Khiva may request direct transportation to a hotel near the Itchan Kala historic area. As some accommodation is located inside pedestrian or restricted-access zones, the final approach should be discussed in advance.

Karshi and Southern Uzbekistan

Private transfers can also be arranged from Bukhara Airport to Karshi and other destinations to the south and southeast. These services may be useful for business visits, regional tours, family travel, and journeys to locations without a convenient direct rail or air connection.

Journey times depend on the precise route, traffic, roadworks, weather, and scheduled stops. Passengers should avoid planning tight connections immediately after a long-distance road transfer.

Useful Travel Information

Uzbek and Russian are commonly used in Bukhara. English is spoken in many tourism businesses, but it should not be assumed that every taxi driver will speak English. Passengers who need an English-speaking driver should request one when booking.

Uzbekistan uses the Uzbek sum. Payment options can differ between local transport providers, so travellers should not assume that every taxi accepts an international bank card. With a pre-arranged transfer, the applicable payment procedure is confirmed as part of the booking.

Bukhara has hot, dry summers and colder winters. During the hottest months, an air-conditioned vehicle is especially important for airport and intercity journeys. In winter, passengers travelling long distances should allow additional flexibility for weather and road conditions.

Historic hotels and guesthouses may be located along narrow streets with limited access for larger vehicles. In some cases, passengers may need to walk a short distance between the nearest accessible point and the entrance. Providing the accommodation name and address in advance helps the driver determine the most practical pickup or drop-off location.

Booking a Bukhara Airport Transfer

To request a transfer, provide the arrival date, pickup time, flight number, destination, number of passengers, and luggage details. For departures, include the required airport arrival time so that a suitable pickup can be planned.

Passengers requiring child seats, several pickup points, additional stops, oversized luggage, wheelchair-accessible transportation, or a larger group vehicle should state these requirements before confirmation. Special equipment and particular vehicle types depend on local availability.

WelcomeTaxi operates as an international private transfer and chauffeur service. Whether the journey is a short transfer from Bukhara International Airport to the old city, an hourly chauffeur booking, or a long-distance trip across Uzbekistan, advance reservation provides a more organised and comfortable start to the journey.
