Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur-Driven Travel in Bukhara

Bukhara is one of Uzbekistan’s most important historic cities and a major destination on the ancient Silk Road. Its old city contains centuries-old mosques, madrasas, mausoleums, trading domes, courtyards, and traditional neighbourhoods, while the wider urban area includes modern hotels, railway connections, residential districts, universities, and commercial centres.

WelcomeTaxi provides pre-booked private transfers and chauffeur services throughout Bukhara and the surrounding region. Transportation can be arranged between the airport, hotels, guesthouses, private residences, railway stations, business locations, historic attractions, pilgrimage sites, and destinations elsewhere in Uzbekistan.

Passengers may reserve a direct airport pickup, a city transfer, an hourly chauffeur-driven vehicle, or a long-distance journey. Suitable cars and larger vehicles can be arranged for individuals, families, corporate travellers, organised groups, and passengers carrying additional luggage.

Bukhara Airport Transfers

Bukhara International Airport (BHK) is the main passenger airport serving the city and the surrounding part of Uzbekistan. It is located within easy driving distance of central Bukhara, making transfers to most hotels and guesthouses relatively straightforward.

A pre-booked private airport transfer provides direct transportation from the terminal to the requested accommodation, residence, railway station, office, tourist site, or regional destination. The pickup arrangements, passenger count, luggage requirements, and vehicle category are confirmed before arrival.

This service is particularly convenient for first-time visitors, families, groups, late-night arrivals, business passengers, and travellers who do not speak Uzbek or Russian. It also removes the need to find a suitable taxi and explain the destination immediately after a flight.

Private Transfers from BHK Airport

With a private transfer, the reserved vehicle is used only by the passenger or travelling party. After collection at the agreed meeting point, the journey continues directly to the confirmed destination without additional stops for unrelated passengers.

A sedan may be suitable for individuals and small parties with standard luggage. Families and groups can request a minivan, van, minibus, or coach, depending on local availability. Executive vehicles may also be arranged for business travellers, official visitors, and passengers who prefer a higher service category.

English-speaking drivers are available on request. Language availability may depend on the travel date, route, and vehicle type, so passengers who specifically require service in English should mention this preference when booking.

Transfers to Bukhara Airport

Private departure transfers can be arranged from hotels, guesthouses, apartments, residences, railway stations, offices, and other locations in and around Bukhara. Passengers should provide their flight departure time so that pickup can be scheduled with sufficient time for the road journey, check-in, security, and baggage procedures.

Many visitors stay in or near the historic centre, where narrow streets, pedestrian sections, and access limitations may affect the closest possible pickup point. Providing the complete property name and address helps the driver identify the most practical meeting location.

Transportation in Bukhara

Bukhara has local buses, minibuses, taxis, and app-based transport services. Many of the principal attractions within the historic centre are close enough to explore on foot, while a vehicle is useful for airport journeys, railway station transfers, attractions outside the old city, and travel to other towns.

Public transportation is economical, but route information may not always be readily available in English. Private transfers provide a more convenient option for passengers carrying luggage, following a fixed schedule, or travelling to an unfamiliar address.

Local Buses and Minibuses

Buses and minibuses operate on established routes throughout Bukhara. They connect residential areas, markets, hospitals, educational institutions, transport hubs, and commercial districts.

These services are generally most suitable for travellers familiar with the local network and carrying little luggage. Visitors may find it difficult to identify the correct route or stop without local assistance, particularly when signs and announcements are not provided in English.

Public transport routes and operating arrangements may change. Travellers planning to use local buses should check current information after arrival rather than relying entirely on older online maps or travel guides.

Regular Taxis and Ride-Booking Services

Taxis are widely used for direct journeys around Bukhara. They can be found near the airport, railway stations, hotels, markets, and popular visitor areas, while local ride-booking applications may also be available.

A regular taxi may be practical for a spontaneous city journey when a suitable vehicle is immediately available. Passengers should make sure that the destination and fare arrangement are understood before departure.

A pre-booked transfer provides greater predictability for airport pickups, larger groups, substantial luggage, multiple stops, and journeys beyond Bukhara. The provider receives the relevant route and passenger information before the service begins.

Walking in the Historic Centre

Bukhara’s historic centre is compact and many of its best-known attractions can be explored on foot. The area around Lyabi-Hauz, the old trading domes, Poi Kalyan, and the Ark is especially suitable for walking.

Visitors should expect cobbled or uneven surfaces, steps, narrow passages, and limited vehicle access in some areas. Summer temperatures can also make longer walks tiring during the middle of the day.

A chauffeur-driven vehicle is useful for reaching attractions outside the central walking area, returning to accommodation in hot weather, or transporting passengers with limited mobility.

Car Rental

Rental cars may be available for travellers who prefer to drive independently. This can provide flexibility for visiting regional towns, desert accommodation, and destinations not served by convenient public transport.

Visitors should consider licence requirements, insurance, deposits, parking, fuel arrangements, road conditions, and local driving practices. Access and parking can be difficult near some parts of the historic centre.

For travellers who do not wish to navigate unfamiliar roads, a private transfer or chauffeur-driven vehicle offers a more straightforward alternative.

Why Pre-Book a Private Transfer in Bukhara?

Pre-booking allows the complete journey to be organised before travel. The pickup location, date, time, destination, passenger count, luggage, and vehicle requirements can be confirmed as part of one reservation.

This provides greater certainty than finding transport after arrival. The local provider knows in advance whether the booking requires a sedan, executive vehicle, van, minibus, child seat, additional luggage capacity, or transportation to another city.

A reserved vehicle is particularly useful for families and organised groups. Instead of separating into several taxis, passengers can request one vehicle suitable for the entire travelling party.

Advance booking is also recommended for early flights, railway connections, business appointments, pilgrimage itineraries, and long-distance journeys. These services require more planning than a short urban taxi ride.

Chauffeur Service in Bukhara

WelcomeTaxi offers hourly chauffeur service for passengers who require a vehicle for several hours rather than one direct transfer. The vehicle and driver remain available during the confirmed service period and follow the agreed itinerary.

Hourly hire can be used for business meetings, private sightseeing, pilgrimage routes, shopping, family visits, weddings, restaurant journeys, and programmes involving several stops.

The service may begin at Bukhara Airport, a hotel, guesthouse, railway station, residence, or another confirmed location. Passengers should provide the expected duration, approximate route, passenger count, and any planned travel outside the city.

Corporate and Executive Transportation

Bukhara is an important regional centre for tourism, education, trade, public administration, energy, agriculture, and professional services. Executive transportation can be arranged for visiting managers, consultants, official guests, investors, conference participants, and corporate delegations.

A chauffeur-driven vehicle can operate between the airport, hotels, offices, government locations, meeting venues, industrial sites, restaurants, and railway stations.

For larger delegations, several coordinated vehicles or a minibus may be requested. Providing flight details and a complete programme helps organise arrivals, waiting periods, meeting transfers, and return journeys.

Private Sightseeing in Bukhara

Bukhara contains an exceptional concentration of historic monuments. Major attractions include the Poi Kalyan complex, Kalyan Minaret, Kalyan Mosque, Mir-i-Arab Madrasa, the Ark Fortress, Lyabi-Hauz, Chor Minor, the Samanid Mausoleum, and the old trading domes.

Many central sites are close together and are best visited on foot. A private vehicle becomes more useful when the itinerary includes attractions beyond the old city or when passengers wish to combine several distant locations within a limited time.

Passengers should arrange attraction tickets and professional guide services separately unless they are specifically included in another booking. WelcomeTaxi provides transportation and waiting according to the confirmed itinerary.

Religious and Historical Sites outside Central Bukhara

Several important sites are located outside the main historic centre. These attractions may be difficult to combine efficiently using separate local taxis, especially when the passenger needs the driver to wait during each visit.

Bahauddin Naqshband Complex

The memorial complex of Bahauddin Naqshband is one of the most important pilgrimage destinations near Bukhara. Visitors travel there for religious, historical, and cultural reasons.

A private transfer can be arranged from a hotel, the airport, or another location in Bukhara. Passengers planning a return journey should state whether the driver is expected to wait during the visit.

Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa Palace

Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa was the summer residence of the last emirs of Bukhara. The complex is located outside the historic centre and combines local decorative traditions with European architectural influences.

Private transportation can connect the palace with central Bukhara and other nearby attractions as part of an hourly chauffeur itinerary.

Chor Bakr Memorial Complex

Chor Bakr is a historic necropolis located outside central Bukhara. It is visited for its religious importance, architecture, and quieter setting away from the busiest tourist areas.

A private vehicle provides direct transportation and can combine Chor Bakr with other regional sites according to the confirmed schedule.

Bukhara Railway Station Transfers

Bukhara’s principal railway station is located in Kogon, outside the central historic area. The station serves intercity trains connecting Bukhara with Samarkand, Tashkent, Khiva, and other destinations.

A private station transfer provides direct transportation between Kogon railway station and hotels, guesthouses, residences, Bukhara Airport, or another regional address. This is particularly convenient for passengers arriving with luggage or travelling early in the morning or late at night.

Passengers should provide the train number, scheduled arrival or departure time, and the complete name of their accommodation. Sufficient time should be allowed for the road journey and station procedures.

Regional Transfers from Bukhara

Bukhara is a convenient starting point for journeys throughout the Bukhara and Navoi regions. Private transfers can be arranged as one-way services, return excursions with waiting, or stages of a multi-day itinerary.

The booking request should clearly state whether the driver is expected to remain at the destination. A point-to-point transfer does not automatically include sightseeing time or waiting.

Bukhara to Gijduvan

Gijduvan is known for its traditional ceramics and craft workshops. It is a popular stop on the route between Bukhara and Samarkand and can also be visited as a separate excursion.

A chauffeur-driven journey can include workshop visits, local attractions, and a return to Bukhara according to an agreed schedule. Passengers should make any workshop or guided-tour arrangements separately.

Bukhara to Navoi

Navoi is an important administrative and industrial city northeast of Bukhara. Private transfers are suitable for business travellers, engineers, consultants, contractors, and passengers visiting hotels or industrial facilities in the region.

The exact destination should be provided because central Navoi, nearby towns, industrial sites, and Navoi International Airport are located in different areas.

Desert Camps and Rural Accommodation

The region between Bukhara, Navoi, and the Kyzylkum Desert includes yurt camps, rural guesthouses, archaeological locations, and outdoor tourism destinations.

Many of these properties are not served by regular public transportation. Passengers should provide the exact accommodation name, coordinates or access instructions, and information about road conditions.

A standard city vehicle may not be suitable for every desert or rural route. Vehicle requirements should therefore be discussed before the booking is confirmed.

Long-Distance Transfers from Bukhara

WelcomeTaxi can arrange direct long-distance transfers from Bukhara to destinations throughout Uzbekistan. Door-to-door road transportation is particularly useful for families, groups, passengers with substantial luggage, and travellers whose final destination is not close to a railway station.

Bukhara to Samarkand

Samarkand and Bukhara are frequently combined in cultural itineraries across Uzbekistan. Trains provide an important connection between the cities, while a private transfer offers direct hotel-to-hotel transportation.

A road transfer can be particularly useful for passengers who want to stop in Gijduvan, Navoi, or another location along the route. All intermediate stops should be included in the booking request so that the complete journey can be quoted correctly.

Bukhara to Khiva

Khiva is another major Silk Road destination and is known for the walled historic city of Itchan Kala. The road journey from Bukhara crosses a long section of western Uzbekistan and should be planned as a genuine intercity transfer rather than a standard local taxi ride.

A private transfer provides direct transportation to a hotel, guesthouse, or accessible meeting point in Khiva. Some properties within the historic walled area cannot be reached directly by vehicle.

Passengers should allow sufficient time for the journey, comfort stops, road conditions, and the final approach to their accommodation.

Bukhara to Urgench

Urgench is the principal modern city of the Khorezm region and provides access to Urgench International Airport, railway services, hotels, and regional business locations.

Private transfers can operate directly between Bukhara and Urgench or continue to Khiva and other destinations in Khorezm. The final address should be specified because Urgench and Khiva are separate cities.

Bukhara to Tashkent

Tashkent is a considerable distance from Bukhara. Rail and air connections may be more practical for many travellers, but a private road transfer can be arranged for groups, specialised luggage, multi-stop itineraries, or direct travel to an address outside the capital’s main transport hubs.

The complete journey should be planned with realistic driving and rest time. Any intermediate cities or overnight stops must be included in advance.

Bukhara to Karshi and Southern Uzbekistan

Private transfers can also be arranged from Bukhara to Karshi and other destinations in southern Uzbekistan. These journeys may be required for business, family travel, regional tourism, or connections towards Shakhrisabz and Termez.

Road conditions and journey times depend on the precise route and destination. Passengers should provide complete addresses and all planned stops before confirmation.

Multi-Day Chauffeur Service from Bukhara

Bukhara can form part of a longer chauffeur-driven journey through Uzbekistan. Multi-day transportation may include Samarkand, Khiva, Tashkent, desert camps, regional towns, and rural attractions.

A detailed itinerary is required for this type of booking. Passengers should provide each city, daily schedule, hotel, overnight stop, estimated luggage, passenger count, and planned sightseeing route.

Driver accommodation, working hours, mileage, parking, and vehicle suitability may affect the quotation. A multi-day chauffeur service is therefore different from booking several unrelated one-way transfers.

Useful Travel Information for Bukhara

Uzbek is the official language of Uzbekistan, while Russian is also widely used. English is spoken in many hotels and tourism businesses but should not be expected from every local driver. Passengers who require an English-speaking driver should request one in advance.

The official currency is the Uzbek sum. Card acceptance is increasing in hotels, restaurants, and larger businesses, although cash remains useful for markets, smaller cafés, local shops, and some transport services.

Bukhara has hot, dry summers and colder winters. Air-conditioned transportation is especially important during the warmest months, while winter travellers should allow flexibility for changing weather and road conditions.

The historic centre contains uneven paving, narrow streets, steps, and pedestrian areas. Passengers with limited mobility should provide detailed accessibility requirements before booking.

Hotels and guesthouses may have similar names or be located in lanes that are not accessible to vehicles. Providing the full address and a working mobile number helps the driver coordinate the nearest practical pickup or drop-off point.

Booking Transfers and Chauffeur Services in Bukhara

To request transportation, provide the travel date, pickup time, complete pickup and destination details, passenger count, and luggage information. Airport bookings should also include the flight number and scheduled arrival or departure time.

For railway station transfers, provide the train number and timetable. For hourly chauffeur hire, include the expected duration and approximate itinerary. Long-distance and multi-day requests should list every planned stop and the final destination.

Passengers requiring child seats, oversized luggage, several pickup points, wheelchair-accessible transportation, or a specific vehicle category should mention these requirements before confirmation. Special equipment and particular vehicles remain subject to local availability.

Whether the booking is a short transfer from BHK Airport, a chauffeur-driven day around historic Bukhara, a station transfer to Kogon, or a long-distance journey across Uzbekistan, advance reservation provides a clear and comfortable transportation plan.
