Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Dubai International Airport

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is the main international airport of Dubai and one of the most important aviation hubs in the Middle East. Located close to central Dubai, it serves millions of visitors travelling to the United Arab Emirates for business, tourism, events, exhibitions, beach holidays, shopping trips, and onward connections. DXB is also the main hub for many international arrivals into Dubai, making it a key starting point for private airport transfers, chauffeur service, and long-distance ground transportation across the UAE.

The airport is operated by Dubai Airports, which manages both DXB and Dubai World Central / Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). DXB has several passenger terminals and serves a wide range of international airlines, with strong connectivity to Europe, Asia, Africa, the Gulf region, North America, and Australia. For travellers arriving after a long flight, a pre-booked airport transfer is often the most comfortable way to reach a hotel, apartment, villa, office, conference venue, or cruise terminal without waiting in taxi queues or navigating local transport with luggage.

Getting from DXB to Dubai

Dubai International Airport is well connected to the city. Depending on traffic and the exact destination, the drive from DXB to Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, Deira, Bur Dubai, Dubai Creek, Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Palm Jumeirah, or the Dubai International Financial Centre can take from around 15 minutes to more than 45 minutes. Travel time varies considerably during peak hours, major events, weekends, and holiday periods.

Dubai is a modern city with excellent roads, but it is also a large metropolitan area where distances can be deceptive. A hotel that looks “in Dubai” may be located many kilometres from the airport, especially if it is in Dubai Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah, Jebel Ali, Dubai South, or near the Expo City area. This is why arranging a private transfer in advance can be especially useful: the route, pickup point, vehicle class, luggage capacity, and destination are confirmed before arrival.

Transportation Options from Dubai International Airport

Travellers arriving at DXB can choose between several transportation options. Regular airport taxis are widely available outside the terminals and are a common choice for simple city trips. Ride-hailing services are also used in Dubai, although pickup points may vary by terminal and vehicle category. The Dubai Metro connects the airport with key parts of the city and can be practical for light travellers heading to areas close to metro stations.

However, public transport is not always convenient with large luggage, children, late-night arrivals, early-morning departures, or destinations outside central Dubai. Many hotels, resorts, villas, business parks, and residential areas require an additional taxi ride from the nearest metro station. For families, corporate travellers, VIP guests, and groups, a door-to-door private airport transfer from DXB is usually the more practical option.

Dubai Metro from DXB

The Dubai Metro is clean, efficient, and connected to Dubai International Airport. It can be a good solution for travellers with minimal luggage and destinations close to a station. Still, it may not be ideal for passengers arriving with multiple suitcases, sports equipment, children, or after a long intercontinental flight. It also does not provide direct access to every hotel or residential district.

Airport Taxis and Ride-Hailing

Airport taxis in Dubai are regulated and available at official taxi ranks. They work well for many straightforward journeys, but travellers may still need to wait during busy periods. Vehicle size can also be a limitation for groups or passengers with several suitcases. Ride-hailing apps offer another alternative, but prices and availability can vary depending on demand, terminal pickup rules, and selected vehicle type.

Pre-Booked Private Transfers

A pre-booked transfer from Dubai International Airport gives you a confirmed driver, agreed pickup details, and a vehicle arranged for your party size and luggage. With WelcomeTaxi, the service is planned before your flight arrives, which helps reduce uncertainty after landing. This is particularly useful for business travellers, families, groups, elderly passengers, and anyone arriving at night or during peak travel periods.

Private Airport Transfers from DXB

WelcomeTaxi provides private airport transfers from DXB to all major areas of Dubai. Popular destinations include Downtown Dubai, Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Business Bay, DIFC, Deira, Bur Dubai, Dubai Creek Harbour, Jumeirah, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah, Bluewaters Island, Jebel Ali, Dubai South, Expo City Dubai, and the main hotel zones along the coast.

Private transfers are also suitable for arrivals to serviced apartments, private residences, company offices, hospitals, universities, conference venues, and event locations. Instead of looking for a taxi after arrival, the passenger follows pre-arranged pickup instructions and travels directly to the destination. For international visitors unfamiliar with Dubai, this can make the first part of the trip much smoother.

Vehicle selection can be adapted to the number of passengers, amount of luggage, and purpose of travel. A sedan may be enough for one to three passengers with standard luggage, while a van or minibus may be better for families, groups, delegations, or travellers carrying extra bags. For premium travel, business meetings, or VIP arrivals, a higher-class vehicle and chauffeur service can be arranged.

Chauffeur Service in Dubai

Dubai is a major destination for corporate travel, exhibitions, conferences, luxury tourism, and private events. A chauffeur service in Dubai is useful when transport is needed for more than a simple airport-to-hotel journey. Travellers may need a car and driver for meetings across several districts, shopping appointments, restaurant transfers, hotel inspections, real estate viewings, wedding guests, or full-day city itineraries.

WelcomeTaxi can arrange chauffeur service for hourly hire, half-day or full-day use, depending on the itinerary. This allows passengers to keep the same driver and vehicle for multiple stops instead of ordering separate taxis throughout the day. It is especially convenient when visiting areas such as Downtown Dubai, DIFC, Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah, Dubai Hills, Dubai Creek, and business zones spread across the city.

For business travellers, pre-arranged chauffeur service also helps with time management. Dubai traffic can be heavy, and parking or pickup coordination may take time at large hotels, malls, exhibition centres, and office towers. Having a professional driver familiar with the local transport environment can make the day more predictable and comfortable.

Long-Distance Transfers from Dubai International Airport

Dubai International Airport is not only a gateway to Dubai itself but also a convenient starting point for long-distance transfers across the United Arab Emirates. Many travellers arriving at DXB continue directly to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain, Al Ain, or resorts and industrial areas outside the city. In these cases, a pre-booked private transfer is often easier than arranging local transport after landing.

Popular long-distance routes from DXB include transfers to Abu Dhabi city, Yas Island, Saadiyat Island, Dubai World Central (DWC), Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah resorts, Fujairah hotels, and desert resorts in the UAE. These journeys may involve longer driving times, highway travel, luggage considerations, and sometimes multiple passengers arriving on the same flight. Booking in advance helps ensure that the correct vehicle is assigned for the distance and comfort level required.

For travellers connecting between airports, WelcomeTaxi can also arrange transfers between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). Although both airports serve Dubai, they are located in different parts of the emirate, and the journey can take significant time depending on traffic. A private airport-to-airport transfer is a practical option when travelling with luggage or connecting between separate flights.

Why Book a Private Transfer Instead of a Regular Taxi?

Dubai has a reliable taxi system, but a pre-booked private transfer offers several advantages. The most important is predictability. Your booking is arranged before arrival, the pickup details are confirmed, and the vehicle is selected according to the route and passenger requirements. This is especially valuable at a large airport like DXB, where passengers may arrive tired, with luggage, children, colleagues, or guests who expect a smooth reception.

Private transfers are also useful when the destination is outside the central city or when the route is more complex than a standard airport ride. A long-distance transfer to another emirate, a hotel in a remote resort area, or a business location outside the main tourist districts requires better planning than a short taxi journey. With WelcomeTaxi, the service is arranged as part of an international transfer network, giving travellers a professional point-to-point solution rather than an improvised ride.

For groups, the right vehicle matters. A regular taxi may not have enough space for all passengers and luggage, which can lead to splitting the group into several cars. A pre-booked van or minibus keeps everyone together and simplifies coordination. For premium and corporate travellers, chauffeur service provides a more polished arrival experience and can be matched to the tone of the trip.

Local Transportation Specifics in Dubai

Dubai is built around modern highways, large hotel districts, malls, residential communities, and business areas that can be far apart. Traffic can be dense on routes such as Sheikh Zayed Road, airport access roads, bridges across Dubai Creek, and roads leading to Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, and Palm Jumeirah. Travel times may increase during rush hours, major exhibitions, public holidays, and large events.

Another important detail is luggage and vehicle capacity. Many international visitors arrive in Dubai with several suitcases, shopping plans, golf bags, baby strollers, or equipment for events and cruises. A pre-booked transfer allows the vehicle to be selected with luggage space in mind. This is more reliable than assuming that the first available taxi will fit everyone and everything comfortably.

For airport pickups, terminal information is also important. DXB has multiple terminals, and different airlines operate from different parts of the airport. Providing accurate flight and terminal details helps coordinate pickup instructions and reduces confusion on arrival. For departures, it is wise to allow extra time for traffic, terminal access, check-in, and airport formalities, especially during peak travel periods.

Useful Travel Information for DXB Passengers

Dubai International Airport is close to many central districts, but the city’s geography means that transfer times vary widely. Deira and Dubai Creek are relatively close to DXB, while Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah, JBR, Jebel Ali, and Dubai South are much farther away. Travellers should consider both distance and traffic when planning airport departures.

The United Arab Emirates is a popular destination year-round, but the travel experience changes by season. Winter months bring cooler weather and high tourism demand, while summer is very hot and many travellers prefer direct air-conditioned transport. For families, elderly passengers, and business visitors wearing formal clothing, a private transfer from the terminal to the door can be noticeably more comfortable than combining public transport and walking.

English is widely used in Dubai’s tourism, hospitality, and business sectors. WelcomeTaxi arranges transfers with English-speaking drivers where available, making communication easier for international passengers. Whether you are travelling from DXB to a hotel in Dubai, a meeting in Abu Dhabi, a beach resort in Ras Al Khaimah, or another airport in the region, a pre-booked private transfer helps make the journey more organized from the moment you land.
