Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Phuket International Airport
Phuket International Airport (HKT) is the main air gateway to Phuket, Thailand’s best-known island destination and one of the busiest tourist hubs in Southeast Asia. The airport is located in the north of Phuket Island, near Mai Khao and Nai Yang, while many popular beach resorts are spread along the west and south coasts. Because of this layout, travel times from the airport can vary significantly depending on the final destination, traffic, weather and time of arrival.
WelcomeTaxi offers private airport transfers from Phuket Airport to hotels, villas, resorts, marinas and residential addresses across the island. Whether you are travelling to Phuket City, Patong, Kata, Karon, Kamala, Bang Tao, Surin, Rawai, Nai Harn, Laguna Phuket or Cape Panwa, a pre-booked transfer gives you a smoother arrival and a clear alternative to negotiating local transport after a long flight.
Getting from Phuket Airport to the City and Beach Resorts
There are several ways to travel from Phuket International Airport to your accommodation. Regular taxis, airport taxi counters, ride-hailing apps, shared minibuses, hotel shuttles and public buses may all be available depending on your arrival time and destination. Each option can work for different types of travellers, but the experience is not always the same.
Airport taxis are widely used, especially for short and medium-distance trips within Phuket. However, fares, waiting times and vehicle availability may vary during peak hours, public holidays and high season. Ride-hailing apps can be convenient, but pick-up points may not always be obvious for first-time visitors, and larger vehicles for families or groups are not always instantly available.
Shared minibuses can be cheaper for solo travellers, but they often involve waiting for other passengers and making several hotel stops before reaching your destination. Public buses are the most economical option, but they are less practical with luggage, late arrivals, villa addresses or resorts outside the main routes. Hotel transfers can be convenient, although they are often limited to one property and may not be suitable for multi-stop or long-distance travel.
Why Choose a Pre-Booked Private Transfer in Phuket
A pre-booked private transfer is designed around your itinerary. Your driver receives the journey details in advance, including the pick-up time, destination, passenger count and luggage information. This is especially useful in Phuket, where many villas and resorts are located on hillsides, in gated communities or in areas where addresses can be difficult to find without local knowledge.
With WelcomeTaxi, the transfer is arranged before arrival, so you do not need to compare counters, explain your destination repeatedly or worry about whether the available vehicle has enough luggage space. This is particularly helpful for families with children, groups with several suitcases, honeymoon travellers, business visitors and guests arriving after a long international flight.
Private airport transfers from HKT are also a strong option when travelling to areas outside central Phuket. Destinations such as Khao Lak, Phang Nga, Krabi, Ao Nang and Khao Sok require longer road journeys, where comfort, vehicle quality and driver communication become more important than simply finding the first available taxi.
Chauffeur Service in Phuket
Phuket is not only an airport transfer destination. Many travellers need a reliable chauffeur service for several hours or for a full day, especially when visiting beaches, viewpoints, restaurants, marinas, shopping areas and cultural attractions. A private chauffeur can be arranged for business meetings, wedding guests, resort-to-restaurant transfers, golf trips, sightseeing routes or flexible transport around the island.
Hourly chauffeur service is a practical choice when the route includes several stops or when plans may change during the day. Instead of booking separate taxis for each ride, you keep one vehicle and driver for the agreed duration. This can be more comfortable for families, small groups and travellers staying in villas away from the main beach roads.
Popular local routes may include Phuket Old Town, Big Buddha, Wat Chalong, Promthep Cape, Chalong Pier, Royal Phuket Marina, Boat Lagoon, beach clubs and resort areas along the west coast. For premium travel, WelcomeTaxi can arrange suitable vehicle classes depending on availability, passenger number and luggage requirements.
Long-Distance Transfers from Phuket Airport
Phuket Airport is often used not only for Phuket itself, but also for the wider Andaman region. Many travellers land at HKT and continue by road to Khao Lak, Phang Nga Bay, Takua Pa, Krabi, Ao Nang, Railay ferry connections, Koh Lanta transfer routes, Khao Sok National Park or ports serving nearby islands.
Long-distance transfers are where pre-booking becomes especially valuable. Routes outside Phuket may involve tolls, ferry connections, mountain roads, rural addresses or resorts located far from town centres. Having a confirmed private transfer helps avoid uncertainty at the airport and gives the driver time to prepare the correct route and vehicle.
For island connections, a private transfer can take you from Phuket Airport to ferry piers serving destinations such as Koh Phi Phi, Koh Yao Yai, Koh Yao Noi or other nearby islands, depending on the season and ferry schedule. Since boats may have fixed departure times, it is important to plan enough travel time from the airport, especially during high season or rainy weather.
Local Transportation Specifics in Phuket
Phuket has a very different transport environment from cities with dense metro or rail networks. There is no island-wide urban railway for visitors, and many resort areas are spread along coastal roads. Traffic can be heavy around Patong, Phuket Town, Chalong, school zones, shopping centres and popular beach areas. Travel times can also increase during evening hours, festivals, cruise arrivals and peak holiday periods.
Distances on the map can look short, but road conditions and island geography often make journeys slower than expected. For example, travelling from Phuket Airport to Patong, Kata or Rawai is not the same as a simple city-centre airport ride. The route may include winding roads, busy intersections and resort access roads. This is one reason why choosing the right vehicle and allowing realistic travel time is important.
For departures from Phuket Airport, a private transfer is especially useful because the driver collects you directly from your hotel, villa or resort at a planned time. This helps reduce the risk of last-minute delays, missed pick-up arrangements or confusion about the correct airport terminal.
English-Speaking Drivers and International Service Standards
WelcomeTaxi is positioned as an international private transfer and chauffeur service, which is especially important in destinations with many international visitors. English-speaking drivers make communication easier at pick-up, during hotel transfers and on longer routes. While local conditions may vary, the goal is to provide a clear, professional and comfortable travel experience from booking to drop-off.
For airport arrivals, the driver or local operator follows the confirmed booking details and supports the passenger with a direct transfer to the destination. For more complex routes, such as multi-stop trips, long-distance transfers or chauffeur service, clear instructions can be shared in advance so that the journey is easier to manage on the day of travel.
Useful Travel Information for Phuket Airport Transfers
When booking a transfer from Phuket International Airport, it is helpful to provide the flight number, arrival date, scheduled landing time, hotel or villa name, full drop-off address, number of passengers and luggage details. If you are travelling with children, child seats should be requested in advance where available. For villas, private residences and smaller hotels, a map pin or local contact can also help the driver locate the exact entrance.
For departures, allow extra time during high season, heavy rain or evening traffic. Phuket roads can become congested quickly, particularly around major beaches and town areas. A pre-booked transfer helps plan the timing more safely than leaving transport arrangements until the last moment.
Whether you need a direct ride from HKT to your hotel, a private chauffeur for the day, or a long-distance transfer to another province, WelcomeTaxi provides a reliable way to arrange transport in advance. The service is suitable for leisure travellers, families, business guests, wedding groups and anyone who prefers a confirmed private vehicle instead of handling transport on arrival.
