Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from LaGuardia to New York

LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is one of the principal airports serving New York City. Located in Queens, it is especially convenient for travelers heading to Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and other parts of the city. The airport handles a large volume of domestic traffic and is a common arrival point for business travelers and visitors connecting through major US cities.

WelcomeTaxi offers pre-booked private airport transfers from LaGuardia to hotels, private residences, offices, cruise terminals, railway stations, and other destinations throughout New York. Chauffeur service, airport-to-airport transportation, and long-distance transfers can also be arranged for journeys beyond the city.

For passengers who prefer a direct journey after landing, a private transfer provides a practical alternative to navigating buses, subway connections, taxi queues, or ride-hailing pick-up areas with luggage.

Getting from LaGuardia Airport to Manhattan

LaGuardia is relatively close to Manhattan, but the airport does not have a direct subway or railway station. Travelers therefore have several options for continuing into the city, including private transfers, taxis, ride-hailing services, and MTA buses connecting with the subway and rail network.

Private Airport Transfer

A pre-booked private transfer takes passengers directly from LaGuardia to their specified address. The journey and vehicle are arranged before arrival, which can be particularly useful for visitors unfamiliar with New York or travelers carrying substantial luggage.

Private transportation is also convenient for families, business passengers, larger groups, and anyone requiring a van, premium vehicle, or other specific vehicle category. English-speaking drivers are available on selected services, depending on local supply.

Public Transportation

Public transportation from LaGuardia is based primarily on MTA bus connections. The LaGuardia Link Q70 provides service between Terminals B and C and major transit hubs at Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue and 74 St-Broadway, where passengers can continue by subway. Other buses provide additional connections toward Manhattan, Queens, the subway network, Long Island Rail Road, and Metro-North services.

Public transit can be an economical way to reach New York, especially for solo travelers with light luggage. However, most journeys require at least one transfer, and the combination of buses, stairs, crowded trains, and baggage can be inconvenient after a flight.

Yellow Taxis

Licensed yellow taxis operate from designated taxi stands outside LaGuardia terminals. They provide direct transportation to Manhattan and other destinations without the need to reserve in advance.

A taxi can be convenient for spontaneous travel, while a pre-booked private transfer offers the advantage of arranging the vehicle and destination beforehand. This distinction becomes more important for families, groups, travelers with several suitcases, or passengers who want a particular class of vehicle.

Ride-Hailing Services

App-based services such as Uber and Lyft also operate at LaGuardia. The airport uses designated pick-up areas, and passengers should follow terminal signs and the instructions in the relevant app.

Ride-hailing can work well for flexible trips, but passengers booking transportation in advance may prefer knowing that their transfer has already been organized before they arrive.

Transfers from LGA to Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn

LaGuardia's location in northern Queens means many parts of New York are relatively accessible by road. Midtown Manhattan, the Upper East Side, Harlem, Long Island City, Astoria, and other districts can be reached without first traveling across the entire metropolitan area.

Journey times nevertheless vary substantially according to traffic. A transfer from LGA to Midtown during a quiet period may be considerably faster than the same journey during rush hour. Bridges, tunnels, construction, sporting events, and weather can all affect driving conditions.

Private transfers are also available to Brooklyn, including areas such as Williamsburg, Downtown Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights, and other residential or commercial districts. Transfers to the Bronx, Staten Island, Long Island, and New Jersey can also be arranged.

LaGuardia Chauffeur Service

A chauffeur service is useful when transportation is required for more than a single airport journey. Business travelers may need a car for meetings in Midtown, Lower Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, or New Jersey, while leisure visitors may prefer a private vehicle for sightseeing, shopping, events, or a customized itinerary.

Hourly chauffeur hire can reduce the need to arrange a separate taxi or ride-hailing vehicle for every journey. Depending on availability, different vehicle classes can be selected according to passenger numbers, luggage, and the level of comfort required.

Transfers Between LaGuardia, JFK and Newark Airports

New York is served by three major airports frequently used by local and international travelers: LaGuardia Airport (LGA), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). Some itineraries involve arriving at one airport and departing from another, making ground transportation between airports an important part of the connection.

Private airport-to-airport transfers can be arranged from LGA to JFK and from LGA to Newark. This can be considerably more convenient than combining buses, trains, and subway services while carrying luggage.

Travelers should always allow a generous connection window. New York road traffic is highly variable, and transfers between airports can take much longer during peak periods than under light traffic conditions.

Long-Distance Transfers from LaGuardia Airport

WelcomeTaxi can also arrange long-distance transfers from LGA to destinations outside New York City. Instead of traveling into Manhattan to board another train or bus, passengers can continue directly from the airport to their final destination.

Typical regional journeys may include locations on Long Island, in the Hudson Valley, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and other parts of the northeastern United States. Availability depends on the route and vehicle required.

A direct long-distance transfer can be especially practical for families, groups, corporate travelers, and passengers with several pieces of luggage. It avoids intermediate connections and allows the entire journey to be completed in one vehicle.

Why Pre-Book a Transfer from LaGuardia?

New York provides many transportation choices, but pre-booking offers a different type of convenience. The destination is entered in advance, the appropriate vehicle can be selected before travel, and the ground transportation part of the journey is already planned before the flight arrives.

This can be particularly valuable when arriving for the first time in New York, traveling with children, carrying large suitcases, arriving late in the evening, or coordinating transportation for several passengers.

Pre-booking is also useful for more complicated journeys, such as transportation from LaGuardia directly to another airport, a cruise terminal, a suburban destination, or a city outside New York.

Useful Information for Travelers at LGA

LaGuardia has multiple passenger terminals, and ground transportation arrangements differ according to the terminal and type of service. Official taxis have designated stands, while ride-hailing services use specific pick-up areas. Public buses stop outside airport terminals and connect passengers with the wider New York transit network.

LaGuardia also operates a complimentary shuttle service for transportation between airport terminals and selected airport facilities. The airport shuttle runs around the clock, which can be useful when passengers need to move between terminal areas.

When booking a private transfer, provide accurate flight details and a passenger contact number. For journeys back to LaGuardia, allow sufficient time for New York traffic in addition to airline check-in and security requirements. Road conditions can change significantly throughout the day, so estimated driving times should not be treated as guaranteed.

Book a Private Transfer from New York LaGuardia

WelcomeTaxi provides private airport transfers, chauffeur services, airport-to-airport transportation, and long-distance journeys from LaGuardia Airport. Whether you are traveling to a hotel in Manhattan, an address in Queens or Brooklyn, another New York airport, or a regional destination outside the city, transportation can be arranged before your arrival.

A pre-booked transfer is designed for travelers who value direct transportation, a suitable vehicle, luggage capacity, and the convenience of having the journey planned in advance.
