Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from La Romana Airport

La Romana International Airport (LRM), frequently called La Romana Casa de Campo International Airport, serves La Romana and the southeastern tourism region of the Dominican Republic. Its location provides convenient access to Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, La Romana Cruise Port, Bayahibe, Dominicus and the surrounding Caribbean coast.

The airport handles commercial, charter and private aviation and is closely connected with the region’s resort, marina and cruise industries. Its passenger facilities include separate arrival and departure areas, taxi services, rental-car counters and an information desk. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}

WelcomeTaxi offers pre-booked private airport transfers from LRM to hotels, resorts, villas, cruise terminals and private addresses. Chauffeur-driven vehicles, hourly hire and long-distance transfers to destinations across the Dominican Republic can also be arranged.

Transportation from LRM to La Romana

Ground transportation from La Romana Airport primarily consists of private transfers, authorised taxis, rental cars and pre-arranged shuttle services. There is no metro or direct urban railway connecting the terminal with La Romana, Casa de Campo or nearby resort areas.

The best option depends on the final destination, group size, luggage and arrival time. A traveller staying in La Romana city has different transportation requirements from someone travelling to a private villa in Casa de Campo or a beachfront resort near Bayahibe.

Pre-Booked Private Airport Transfer

A private transfer provides direct transportation from the airport to the passenger’s hotel, villa, marina or cruise terminal. The vehicle is reserved specifically for the booking and selected according to the number of passengers and the amount of luggage.

This service is particularly convenient for families, couples, business travellers and groups. Passengers do not need to negotiate transport after landing, wait for other travellers or make additional connections from a town-centre stop.

English-speaking drivers may be requested in advance. This can make arrival easier for international visitors and help avoid confusion about resort entrances, villa numbers, marina locations or cruise embarkation points.

Airport Taxis

Taxi services are available in the public ground-transportation area of the airport. An authorised taxi can provide a direct journey, although prices, vehicle sizes and availability may vary according to flight schedules and passenger demand. The airport officially lists taxi services among the facilities available in its arrivals area. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}

Passengers should confirm the destination and fare before departure and use authorised providers. Travellers requiring a larger van, child seats or transportation for substantial luggage may prefer to reserve the appropriate vehicle before arriving.

Shared Shuttle Services

Some hotels and tour operators arrange shared transportation from La Romana Airport. A shared shuttle may reduce the per-person cost, but passengers may have to wait for other flight arrivals and stop at several properties before reaching their own accommodation.

A private transfer normally offers a faster and more comfortable journey because the vehicle travels directly to the confirmed destination without collecting unrelated passengers.

Rental Cars

Rental-car counters are available at the airport. Hiring a car may suit travellers planning an independent itinerary across the eastern Dominican Republic, particularly when visiting several beaches, towns or attractions.

Visitors should review insurance conditions, deposits, fuel policies, road tolls and parking arrangements before renting. Driving after a long flight may be tiring, while access to private resorts and gated residential communities can require precise directions.

Transfers to La Romana City

La Romana is an important city on the Dominican Republic’s southeastern coast, with commercial areas, residential districts, hotels and access to the local cruise port. Private transfers can be arranged from LRM to city hotels, private homes and business addresses.

Passengers should provide the complete property name and address. Smaller hotels and private residences may not be widely known, and map locations can be useful when conventional street details are limited.

Private Transfers to Casa de Campo

Casa de Campo Resort & Villas is one of the principal destinations served by La Romana Airport. The extensive resort complex includes hotels, private villas, golf courses, restaurants, beaches, a marina and the Altos de Chavón cultural area.

LRM is closely integrated with Casa de Campo and its marina, making it particularly convenient for resort guests and private-aviation passengers. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}

Because Casa de Campo covers a large gated area, passengers should provide the exact hotel, villa number or marina destination. A transfer simply addressed to “Casa de Campo” may not contain enough information for an efficient drop-off.

WelcomeTaxi can arrange transportation for individual guests, families, wedding parties and groups. Larger vehicles may be requested for golf equipment, event luggage or several passengers travelling together.

Airport Transfers to Bayahibe and Dominicus

Bayahibe is a coastal village and resort destination east of La Romana. It is known for beaches, diving, waterfront hotels and boat excursions to Saona Island. The neighbouring Dominicus area contains numerous all-inclusive resorts and holiday properties.

La Romana Airport is one of the most convenient airports for both Bayahibe and Dominicus. A private transfer provides direct transportation to the hotel or resort entrance without travelling first to La Romana city or changing vehicles.

Passengers joining a boat excursion should confirm whether the meeting point is in Bayahibe village, at a hotel or at another marina. Boat tickets and island excursions are separate from the road transfer service.

Transfers to La Romana Cruise Port

La Romana is an important Caribbean cruise destination and homeport. The airport promotes a direct connection with La Romana Cruise Port, which is located approximately 15 minutes away under normal conditions. :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}

Private airport-to-port transfers can be arranged for passengers embarking on a cruise shortly after arrival. Travellers should provide the cruise line, vessel name, embarkation date and required check-in time.

Passengers arriving before their cruise check-in opens may need transportation to a hotel or another agreed location. Luggage storage, early embarkation and terminal access are controlled by the cruise operator and should be confirmed separately.

Transfers can also be arranged from the cruise port to La Romana Airport after disembarkation. Pickup timing should allow for possible delays during immigration, baggage collection and port procedures.

Connections to Punta Cana Airport

Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) is the largest alternative airport for travellers visiting eastern Dominican Republic. Some passengers may arrive at LRM and depart from PUJ, or require an airport change because different airlines use different airports.

A private transfer between LRM and PUJ provides direct transportation without the need to travel through local bus stations. The journey time varies according to traffic, road conditions and the exact terminal.

Passengers connecting between separate flights should allow a generous margin for baggage collection, road travel, airline check-in and security. Airlines may not provide assistance when two flights have been booked independently.

Connections to Santo Domingo Airport

Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) serves Santo Domingo and is another relevant airport for La Romana and the southeastern coast. Private transfers can be arranged between LRM, SDQ, Santo Domingo hotels and addresses throughout the capital.

This service may be useful for travellers whose international route is available only through Santo Domingo or who are combining a stay in La Romana with business or sightseeing in the capital.

The airport code should always be checked carefully. LRM refers to La Romana International Airport, PUJ to Punta Cana International Airport and SDQ to Las Américas International Airport near Santo Domingo.

Professional Chauffeur Service in La Romana

WelcomeTaxi chauffeur service can be arranged for business appointments, weddings, golf trips, restaurant visits, marina transportation and private sightseeing. Instead of booking a separate taxi for every journey, passengers may retain a vehicle and driver for an agreed number of hours.

Hourly chauffeur hire is useful for travel between Casa de Campo, La Romana, Bayahibe and nearby attractions. It can also simplify transportation for weddings and private events involving several venues.

The itinerary, estimated duration, number of passengers and planned stops should be provided in advance. Depending on availability, sedans, vans and larger vehicles can be arranged for individuals, families and groups.

Long-Distance Transfers from La Romana Airport

Private long-distance transfers can be arranged from LRM to destinations across the Dominican Republic. Popular routes include Punta Cana, Bávaro, Santo Domingo, Juan Dolio, Boca Chica and other towns, resorts or private addresses.

Longer journeys may also be organised to destinations outside the eastern region. A direct private vehicle is particularly useful for families and groups who prefer to remain together with their luggage rather than make several bus or taxi connections.

For long-distance travel, passengers should provide the complete destination, planned stops and any special luggage requirements. Multi-day chauffeur services may also be requested for itineraries involving several cities or resort areas.

Why Pre-Book Instead of Taking a Regular Taxi?

Pre-booking confirms that a suitable vehicle will be reserved before the passenger arrives. This is valuable when travelling with children, several suitcases, golf equipment or a larger group.

The driver receives the airport and destination information in advance. This reduces the risk of misunderstandings involving private villas, gated resorts, cruise terminals and hotels with similar names.

A private transfer also provides clear pickup arrangements and direct door-to-door transportation. Passengers do not need to compare offers after leaving customs or wait for a shared shuttle to collect travellers from other flights.

Useful Information for Arriving Passengers

Passengers should provide the complete flight number, arrival date and destination when booking. Flight information helps identify the correct arrival and coordinate the airport pickup.

After immigration, baggage collection and customs, travellers should follow the pickup instructions included with their booking. The driver or local representative may arrange a designated meeting point outside the arrivals area.

Resorts and villas should be identified by their complete names. For Casa de Campo, the villa number, hotel section or marina location is particularly important because the complex covers an extensive area.

The Dominican Republic uses the Dominican peso, although US dollars are accepted by many tourism businesses. Passengers should not assume that every driver or local service can accept foreign cards or mobile payments.

For departure transfers, sufficient time should be allowed for road travel, airline check-in, immigration and security. Flight schedules at LRM may include seasonal and charter operations, so passengers should reconfirm departure details with their airline.

Book a Private Transfer from LRM

WelcomeTaxi provides private airport transfers, chauffeur-driven vehicles and long-distance transportation from La Romana International Airport. Services can be arranged to La Romana city, Casa de Campo, Bayahibe, Dominicus, the cruise port, Punta Cana and Santo Domingo.

Booking in advance provides an organised door-to-door journey with a vehicle selected for the passenger count, luggage and itinerary, making it a practical choice for holidays, cruises, private events and business travel.
