Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Nice Côte d’Azur Airport
Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE) is the principal international airport serving Nice and the French Riviera in southern France. Its location close to the Mediterranean coast makes it a convenient arrival point not only for Nice itself, but also for many of the region’s best-known destinations, including Antibes, Cannes, Monaco, Menton and the resorts and towns of the Côte d’Azur.
WelcomeTaxi offers pre-booked private airport transfers from Nice Airport to hotels, villas, apartments, cruise terminals, railway stations and business addresses. Instead of looking for transport after landing, passengers can arrange a vehicle in advance and travel directly to their destination with a professional driver.
Private Transfers from Nice Airport to Nice
Nice Airport is situated on the western side of the city, making central Nice relatively easy to reach. A private transfer is particularly convenient for travellers arriving with luggage, families with children, business passengers, groups, or anyone staying somewhere that requires an additional connection by public transport.
Your driver collects you according to the booked pickup arrangements and takes you directly to your accommodation or other destination. This avoids changing between trams, trains or buses and is especially useful when travelling to hotels outside the immediate city centre, private residences, hillside neighbourhoods or addresses that are less convenient to reach using scheduled transport.
Pre-booking also allows travellers to select a vehicle appropriate for their group and luggage requirements. Depending on availability, options may range from private cars for individual travellers and couples to larger vans and minibuses for families and groups.
Transport Options from Nice Côte d’Azur Airport
Nice Airport has good public transport connections, so travellers can choose between trams, buses, trains, regular taxis, rental cars and private transfer services. The best option depends on destination, luggage, arrival time and how much convenience is required.
Tram from Nice Airport
Tram line 2 connects both airport terminals with central Nice, including the Jean Médecin area and Port Lympia. The journey into the city centre takes less than 30 minutes under normal operating conditions. Tram services also provide connections within the airport area, including the Grand Arénas transport interchange.
The tram is a practical choice for passengers travelling light and staying close to a convenient stop. For visitors with several suitcases, small children or accommodation away from the tram corridor, a door-to-door transfer can be considerably easier.
Train Connections
Nice Saint-Augustin railway station is located close to the airport and can be reached from the terminal area via Grand Arénas. Regional trains provide useful connections along the Mediterranean coast towards destinations such as Cannes, Monaco and Menton, as well as other towns in the Alpes-Maritimes.
Rail travel can be efficient for passengers whose final destination is close to a station. However, it normally requires additional walking or onward transport between the railway station and the final hotel or residence. A private airport transfer removes these intermediate stages.
Buses and Regional Connections
Local and regional bus services operate from the airport and surrounding transport hubs. Direct coach connections serve several Côte d’Azur destinations, including Cannes, Antibes and Monaco. Buses can be a cost-effective solution, although journey times and convenience depend on timetables, traffic and the location of the final stop.
Regular Airport Taxis
Official taxi ranks are available at both terminals. Taking a taxi on arrival can work well for straightforward journeys into Nice, particularly when there is little waiting time. However, during busy holiday periods, major events or peak flight arrival times, demand can be high.
A pre-booked transfer offers a different type of service: the journey is arranged before arrival, the required vehicle category can be selected in advance, and the destination is already included in the booking.
Car Rental
Hiring a car gives travellers flexibility when planning an extended road trip around Provence or the French Riviera. It may be useful for visitors staying in rural areas or making frequent independent journeys. For a simple airport-to-hotel transfer, however, renting a vehicle can add unnecessary procedures such as paperwork, parking and navigating unfamiliar roads immediately after a flight.
Chauffeur Service in Nice and the French Riviera
Nice is a natural base for exploring the Côte d’Azur, and a chauffeur service provides a comfortable alternative to coordinating several separate taxi journeys. A private vehicle with driver can be arranged for business travel, hotel transfers, events, restaurant visits and journeys between neighbouring Riviera destinations.
Professional chauffeur service is particularly useful when the itinerary involves several locations or when passengers prefer not to drive themselves. English-speaking drivers make communication easier for international visitors, while advance booking provides clarity about the planned pickup and destination.
Transfers from Nice Airport to Cannes, Monaco and the Côte d’Azur
Nice Airport serves a much wider area than Nice alone. Many passengers arriving at NCE continue directly along the coast to another resort, town or business centre.
Cannes is one of the most popular onward destinations, particularly during major conferences, festivals and events. Antibes and Juan-les-Pins are also within convenient road reach of the airport. East of Nice, private transfers are frequently suitable for journeys to Villefranche-sur-Mer, Èze, Monaco, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and Menton.
Private transport can also be arranged to inland destinations such as Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Grasse and other towns and villages of the Alpes-Maritimes. For these journeys, door-to-door service is valuable because public transport may require multiple connections or may not stop close to the final property.
Long-Distance Transfers from Nice Airport
Not every journey from NCE ends on the immediate Côte d’Azur. WelcomeTaxi can also arrange long-distance transfers when travellers need direct transportation to destinations farther across Provence and southern France.
A long-distance private transfer can be an attractive alternative when a rail journey would involve changes, significant luggage handling or additional taxis at both ends. It is also useful for groups travelling together, because everyone remains in the same vehicle throughout the journey.
Possible itineraries may extend towards destinations such as Saint-Tropez and the Var coast, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille and other locations in southern France, subject to vehicle availability and the requirements of the journey.
Why Pre-Book an Airport Transfer?
Nice has excellent transport infrastructure, and public transport or a regular taxi may be perfectly suitable for some passengers. Pre-booked private transfers are designed for travellers who place greater value on predictability, direct service and convenience.
The main advantage is that transport is organised before the flight arrives. There is no need to compare alternatives while carrying luggage or to work out connections after a long journey. The pickup, destination, passenger count and required vehicle are arranged as part of the booking.
This can be especially important during the busy summer season, when Nice and the surrounding Riviera attract large numbers of visitors. Road traffic can also become heavier during major events in Nice, Cannes and Monaco, so allowing sufficient travel time is important when planning airport departures.
Useful Information for Travelling from NCE
Nice Côte d’Azur Airport has two passenger terminals. Tram services connect the terminal area, and airport transport facilities include taxis, public buses, regional coaches and access to nearby rail services.
When booking your transfer, use the correct flight and passenger information and allow for the amount of luggage you will be carrying. Groups with substantial baggage may require a larger vehicle even when the passenger count itself would fit into a smaller car.
For departures from Nice or another Riviera destination, it is advisable to schedule the pickup with sufficient time for possible traffic as well as airline check-in and security procedures. Travel conditions can vary considerably between quieter periods and the peak summer season.
Whether you are travelling into central Nice, continuing to Monaco or Cannes, arranging a chauffeur for regional travel, or planning a longer journey across southern France, WelcomeTaxi provides an international private transfer service with pre-booked vehicles and professional drivers.
