Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service in Nice

Nice is one of the principal destinations on the French Riviera, combining a Mediterranean seafront, historic neighbourhoods, business districts and easy access to the wider Côte d’Azur. Whether you are arriving for a holiday, a conference, a cruise, a private event or a longer journey through southern France, WelcomeTaxi provides pre-booked private transfers and chauffeur service in Nice with professional drivers and vehicles selected for your journey.

Private transportation can be arranged between the airport, hotels, villas, apartments, railway stations, ports and other addresses throughout Nice. The service is also suitable for travel beyond the city, including direct transfers to Cannes, Antibes, Monaco, Menton and other coastal and inland destinations.

Nice Côte d’Azur Airport Transfers

Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE) is the main commercial airport serving Nice and the French Riviera. It lies immediately west of the city, making airport transfers into central Nice relatively short compared with many major European destinations.

WelcomeTaxi offers pre-booked airport transfers from NCE to addresses throughout Nice. Instead of arranging transport after landing, passengers can reserve a suitable vehicle in advance and travel directly to their hotel, residence or business destination.

Airport transfers are particularly convenient for families, groups, business travellers and passengers carrying substantial luggage. They are also useful for accommodation that is not directly served by the tram or requires another connection after reaching central Nice.

For departures, a private transfer can collect passengers directly from their hotel or other address and take them to the appropriate airport terminal. When planning the pickup time, it is sensible to allow additional time during busy holiday periods and major events, when road traffic throughout the Côte d’Azur can be considerably heavier.

Airports Serving Nice and the French Riviera

For most visitors travelling on scheduled commercial flights, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is the natural gateway to the city. It handles domestic and international services and has two passenger terminals connected to Nice by public transport and road.

Cannes–Mandelieu Airport (CEQ), southwest of Nice, is also part of the Côte d’Azur aviation network. Unlike NCE, it is focused primarily on business and general aviation rather than regular commercial airline services. Chauffeur-driven transfers can be useful for passengers arriving by private aircraft and continuing to Nice or other destinations along the Riviera.

Getting Around Nice

Nice has a well-developed urban transport network, and many central districts are easy to explore without a car. Trams and buses serve the city, while Nice-Ville railway station provides regional and long-distance train connections. The compact historic centre and the seafront are also highly walkable.

Trams and Local Buses

Nice’s tram network is one of the most useful forms of public transport for visitors. Tram line 2 runs between Nice Côte d’Azur Airport and central Nice, reaching the Jean Médecin area in less than 30 minutes under normal operating conditions before continuing towards Port Lympia. Other tram and bus routes connect residential districts, shopping areas, transport interchanges and major points throughout the city.

Public transport is often a practical choice for straightforward journeys during a stay. A private car becomes more useful when travelling with luggage, making several stops, moving between hotels, attending appointments or continuing beyond the urban transport network.

Rail Travel

Nice-Ville is the city’s main railway station, with services along the Mediterranean coast and towards other parts of France. Regional trains make rail travel particularly useful for journeys between Nice, Antibes, Cannes, Monaco and Menton.

Nice Saint-Augustin station is located close to the airport and provides another useful connection to the regional railway network. Travellers choosing trains should take into account the additional journey between the station and their final address, particularly when travelling with luggage.

Taxis in Nice

Regular taxis are available in the city and at major transport points, including Nice Airport. They can be convenient for spontaneous local trips when a suitable vehicle is immediately available.

For an airport transfer or a planned intercity journey, however, pre-booking provides greater certainty. The pickup details, destination, passenger count and vehicle requirements are organised in advance, reducing the need to make arrangements after arrival.

Chauffeur Service in Nice

A private chauffeur service is suitable for passengers who need more than a simple one-way transfer. It can be arranged for business meetings, conferences, private appointments, special events or individual travel around Nice and the surrounding region.

Nice is a convenient base for exploring the Côte d’Azur, but travelling between several places in one day can involve multiple train, bus or taxi journeys. A chauffeur-driven vehicle keeps the itinerary together and allows passengers to travel directly between their chosen locations.

English-speaking drivers are particularly useful for international visitors who prefer straightforward communication about pickup locations, schedules and itinerary details. Depending on the journey and availability, different vehicle categories can be arranged for individual travellers, families and larger groups.

Private Transfers from Nice to Cannes and Antibes

The western Côte d’Azur contains several destinations that are closely linked to Nice. Antibes, Juan-les-Pins and Cannes are all common destinations for leisure and business travellers arriving in the region.

A direct private transfer is useful when the final destination is a hotel, villa or private address rather than a railway station. Cannes is particularly busy during internationally recognised events, conferences and festivals, when advance transportation arrangements can be valuable.

Transfers can also be arranged between Nice and Cannes–Mandelieu Airport for passengers using private or business aviation.

Private Transfers from Nice to Monaco and Menton

East of Nice, the Riviera continues towards Villefranche-sur-Mer, Èze, Monaco, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and Menton. These destinations can be reached by public transport, but private transfers provide direct door-to-door service and are especially practical for travellers with luggage or accommodation away from railway stations.

Monaco is one of the region’s major business, leisure and event destinations. A private car between Nice and Monaco can be arranged for hotel transfers, meetings, events or onward travel, while chauffeur service is suitable for passengers requiring a vehicle for several appointments or locations.

Regional Travel from Nice

The city is well positioned for journeys not only along the coastline but also into the hills and inland areas of the Alpes-Maritimes. Private transportation can be arranged to destinations such as Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Grasse and other towns and villages where public transport may involve indirect routes or several changes.

A dedicated vehicle is particularly convenient for accommodation in rural or hillside areas, where the nearest railway station may still be some distance from the final destination. It also provides flexibility when travelling with a family or group whose luggage would make repeated public transport connections inconvenient.

Long-Distance Transfers from Nice

WelcomeTaxi can arrange long-distance transfers from Nice when the destination lies beyond the immediate French Riviera. Direct road transportation can be useful for journeys towards Saint-Tropez and the Var coast, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille and other destinations across southern France.

A long-distance transfer offers a single vehicle from the initial pickup point to the final address. This can be particularly attractive when an equivalent train journey would require transfers, additional taxis at one or both ends, or repeated handling of luggage.

For groups, travelling together in one vehicle may also simplify logistics compared with buying separate rail tickets and coordinating onward transportation on arrival.

Why Pre-Book a Private Transfer in Nice?

Nice has good taxis and public transport, so a private transfer is not necessary for every journey. Its main advantage is predictability. The service is organised before travel, the destination and pickup arrangements are already known, and an appropriate vehicle can be selected according to the passenger and luggage requirements.

This is especially valuable for airport arrivals, early departures, unfamiliar addresses, larger groups and journeys outside Nice. Travellers avoid looking for a taxi after landing or determining which combination of public transport will reach a specific hotel or private residence.

Pre-booking is also useful during the Riviera’s busiest periods. Summer tourism, international events and major gatherings in Nice, Cannes and Monaco can all increase demand for transportation and create heavier road traffic.

Useful Travel Information for Nice

Central Nice stretches around the Bay of Angels, with the Promenade des Anglais running along the seafront and Vieux Nice forming the historic core close to the waterfront. The main commercial centre lies around Avenue Jean Médecin, while Port Lympia is located to the east of the Old Town.

Many central journeys can be made easily on foot or by tram. For travellers staying farther from the centre, in hillside neighbourhoods or elsewhere along the Riviera, private transportation can provide a more direct alternative.

Traffic conditions vary substantially by season and time of day. During summer, weekends and major events, journeys along the coastal corridor can take longer than expected. Passengers heading to an airport, railway departure or fixed appointment should therefore allow a suitable margin when arranging their pickup.

Whether you need an airport transfer from Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, a chauffeur for business or private travel, a direct journey to another Riviera destination or a long-distance transfer across southern France, WelcomeTaxi provides pre-booked transportation tailored to the route, passenger count and luggage requirements.
