Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Felipe Ángeles International Airport

Felipe Ángeles International Airport (NLU), commonly known as AIFA, is one of the main airports serving the Mexico City metropolitan area. Located in Zumpango, in the State of Mexico, it was developed as a modern alternative airport for the capital and now handles a growing number of domestic and international flights. For many passengers, especially those unfamiliar with the city, a pre-booked private transfer from NLU is the simplest way to reach Mexico City comfortably and without confusion on arrival.

Although NLU is connected to Mexico City, it is not located in the central urban area. The airport sits north of the capital, and journey times can vary significantly depending on the destination, traffic conditions and time of day. A trip to Polanco, Reforma, Roma, Condesa, Centro Histórico, Santa Fe or Coyoacán may take considerably longer than a transfer from the older Mexico City International Airport (MEX), so planning transport in advance is especially important.

WelcomeTaxi arranges airport transfers, private transfers and chauffeur service from Felipe Ángeles International Airport to hotels, private residences, offices, embassies, event venues and regional destinations across central Mexico. The service is designed for international visitors, business travellers, families, small groups and passengers who prefer a reliable door-to-door option instead of managing airport transport after landing.

Getting from NLU Airport to Mexico City

Travellers arriving at Felipe Ángeles International Airport have several transportation options. These may include airport buses, public transport connections, authorized taxis, app-based rides and private transfers. The most suitable option depends on your destination, luggage, arrival time, language comfort and tolerance for transfers or waiting.

Public transport can be useful for experienced travellers with light luggage, especially if the route matches available bus or rail connections. However, Mexico City is large, and many hotel and business districts require additional local transport after reaching the city. For visitors arriving late in the evening, travelling with children, carrying multiple bags or heading directly to a meeting, public transport is not always the most convenient choice.

Airport taxis and app-based rides may be available, but the experience can depend on queue times, pickup rules, driver availability and local traffic. For some passengers, the main challenge is not simply finding a vehicle but coordinating the correct pickup point at a relatively new airport located far from many central districts. A pre-booked private transfer removes much of that uncertainty.

With WelcomeTaxi, the route and destination are confirmed before the trip. The vehicle is selected according to the number of passengers and luggage, and the driver receives the booking details in advance. This helps make the arrival process smoother, particularly for travellers who are landing in Mexico City for the first time or connecting directly to another city.

Private Transfers from NLU to Mexico City Hotels and Districts

Mexico City is a huge metropolitan area with many distinct districts. From Felipe Ángeles International Airport, passengers often travel to Polanco, Paseo de la Reforma, Roma Norte, Condesa, Juárez, Centro Histórico, Santa Fe, Interlomas, Coyoacán, Lomas de Chapultepec and other hotel, residential or business areas. Each district has different traffic patterns, access routes and travel times.

A private airport transfer from NLU is useful because the driver takes you directly to your hotel, apartment, office or venue without requiring a change of transport in the city. This is particularly valuable when your destination is in western or south-western Mexico City, where the distance from AIFA can be substantial and travel time may be affected by congestion on major urban roads.

The service can be arranged for individuals, couples, families, business travellers and groups. Depending on availability and booking requirements, vehicles may include sedans, SUVs, vans and minibuses. For corporate passengers or VIP arrivals, chauffeur service can provide a more comfortable and discreet travel experience from the airport to meetings, hotels or events.

Why Pre-Book a Transfer from AIFA?

Felipe Ángeles International Airport is modern, but its location makes advance planning especially important. Unlike a short city taxi ride, a transfer from NLU can involve a long cross-metropolitan journey. If the destination is in Polanco, Santa Fe, Reforma, Roma, Condesa or Coyoacán, the route may pass through busy roads and changing traffic conditions.

Pre-booking a transfer helps avoid several common arrival problems. You do not need to compare transport desks, negotiate locally, check multiple ride-hailing pickup points or worry whether the available vehicle can fit your luggage. Your transport is arranged before you land, and the booking can include passenger count, luggage details, child seats, pickup instructions and the final destination.

This is also a practical solution for passengers arriving on late flights, families with young children, travellers with heavy luggage, elderly passengers and visitors who do not speak Spanish. English-speaking drivers are available for many services, which can make communication easier after arrival and help reduce stress during the first part of the trip.

Chauffeur Service in Mexico City

WelcomeTaxi also provides chauffeur service from Felipe Ángeles International Airport for passengers who need more than a simple transfer. Mexico City is a major business, diplomatic, cultural and event destination, and many travellers require transport for meetings, conferences, site visits, dinners, shopping, sightseeing or multi-stop itineraries.

Hourly chauffeur service can be especially useful in a city where traffic can change plans quickly. Instead of booking separate rides between each appointment, passengers can keep the same vehicle and driver for an agreed period. This is convenient for business routes between Polanco, Reforma, Santa Fe, Lomas de Chapultepec and other commercial areas, as well as for private city visits to museums, restaurants and cultural districts.

For premium travel, a chauffeur service offers a more polished experience than a regular taxi. It is suitable for executives, delegations, VIP guests, wedding parties and travellers who value privacy, comfort and clear arrangements. The service can be adapted to airport pickups, departures, city transportation or full-day hire.

Long-Distance Transfers from Felipe Ángeles International Airport

NLU can also be a practical starting point for long-distance private transfers across central Mexico. Depending on the travel plan, passengers may continue from the airport to Puebla, Querétaro, Toluca, Cuernavaca, Pachuca, San Miguel de Allende, Teotihuacán or other regional destinations. A direct transfer is often more comfortable than combining airport transport, bus terminals and local taxis after a flight.

Long-distance transfers are particularly useful when the final destination is outside Mexico City or when the journey involves luggage, children, business equipment or a tight schedule. Instead of renting a car or navigating unfamiliar roads, passengers can travel door to door from the arrivals terminal to their hotel, residence, office, factory, campus or event venue.

For regional travel, it is important to choose the correct airport when booking flights and transfers. Felipe Ángeles International Airport (NLU), Mexico City International Airport (MEX) and Toluca International Airport (TLC) are different airports serving the wider Mexico City region. Travel times between them and the city can vary substantially, so the IATA code on your ticket should always be checked before arranging transport.

Local Transportation Specifics at NLU

One of the most important things to understand about NLU is distance. The airport is part of the Greater Mexico City airport system, but it is located north of the capital, outside the central urban core. This makes private transfers especially relevant for passengers whose final destination is in the main hotel or business districts of Mexico City.

Traffic in and around Mexico City can be heavy, particularly during weekday peak hours. Transfers from NLU to western and central districts may require extra time, and departures from the city to the airport should be planned with a comfortable buffer. For international flights, early morning departures, large groups or hotel pickups in busy areas, leaving too little time can create unnecessary stress.

Accurate booking details help the transfer run smoothly. Passengers should provide the flight number, arrival time, passenger name, mobile phone number, luggage quantity and exact destination address. If the service involves a hotel, residential complex, office tower or gated area, any additional access instructions should be shared before the pickup.

Useful Travel Information for Arrivals

After landing at Felipe Ángeles International Airport, keep your phone active and check messages in case the driver or dispatch team needs to confirm pickup details. If you are travelling with oversized luggage, sports equipment, pets or child seats, these requirements should be included at the booking stage so the correct vehicle can be arranged.

Mexico City is one of the largest urban areas in the world, and travel within the metropolitan region can be slower than expected. A pre-booked private transfer gives you a more predictable arrival experience and avoids the need to make transport decisions at the airport after a long flight.

WelcomeTaxi offers international private transfer and chauffeur service for travellers who need reliable transportation from NLU to Mexico City and beyond. Whether you are booking a short airport transfer, a full-day chauffeur service or a long-distance transfer across central Mexico, pre-arranged transport from Felipe Ángeles International Airport helps make the journey easier from the moment you arrive.
