Private Transfers from Ben Gurion Airport

Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) is Israel’s principal international gateway and the main airport serving Tel Aviv. WelcomeTaxi provides pre-booked airport transfers with direct transportation to hotels, apartments, offices and private addresses throughout Tel Aviv and the surrounding coastal region.

Choose a private transfer, professional chauffeur service or long-distance transfer with an English-speaking driver. Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Ben Gurion Airport

Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) is the main international airport serving Tel Aviv and the principal air gateway to Israel. The airport is located southeast of Tel Aviv, within convenient driving distance of the city centre, the Mediterranean coastline and Israel’s main road network. It handles the majority of the country’s international passenger traffic and is the usual arrival point for visitors travelling to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Herzliya, Netanya and other destinations.

WelcomeTaxi offers private airport transfers from Ben Gurion Airport to hotels, apartments, business districts and private addresses. A pre-booked vehicle provides a simple and comfortable alternative to waiting for a taxi, navigating public transport with luggage or arranging several separate connections after a long flight.

Private Transfers from TLV to Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv is approximately 15–25 kilometres from Ben Gurion Airport, depending on the destination within the city. Journey times vary according to traffic, the time of day and the exact drop-off location. Central areas such as Neve Tzedek, Rothschild Boulevard, Florentin, the beachfront and the Old North may require different routes, particularly during busy periods.

With a private airport transfer, the vehicle is reserved exclusively for you and your travelling companions. Your driver takes you directly from the airport to your requested destination without scheduled stops for other passengers. This is particularly convenient for families, business travellers, groups and passengers carrying several suitcases.

Transfers can be arranged to all major parts of Tel Aviv, including:

  • Tel Aviv city centre and Rothschild Boulevard
  • Neve Tzedek and Florentin
  • Jaffa and the Old Port
  • Tel Aviv beachfront hotels
  • Sarona and the business districts
  • Tel Aviv University and northern residential areas
  • Ramat Gan, Givatayim and Bnei Brak
  • Herzliya and Herzliya Pituach

Transportation Options from Ben Gurion Airport

Passengers arriving at TLV can choose between trains, buses, regular taxis, rental cars and pre-booked private transfers. The best option depends on the destination, arrival time, luggage and the number of passengers.

Train

Ben Gurion Airport has a railway station located below Terminal 3. Direct rail services connect the airport with Tel Aviv and other major cities. Tel Aviv has several railway stations, so passengers should check which one is most convenient for their accommodation.

The train can be efficient for passengers travelling light and staying close to a railway station. However, an additional bus, taxi or walk may still be required to reach the final address. Railway services are also affected by the weekly Shabbat timetable, when most public transport stops from Friday afternoon until Saturday evening. Engineering work, holidays and operational changes may also affect schedules.

Bus and Public Transport

Bus connections are available from the airport area, although they may be less convenient for first-time visitors or passengers with heavy luggage. Some journeys require a transfer at Airport City or another transport hub. Travellers should check current routes and operating hours before departure, especially when arriving late at night, on weekends or during public holidays.

Regular Airport Taxi

Licensed taxis operate from designated areas at Ben Gurion Airport. A taxi can be suitable for an immediate journey, but passengers may need to wait during busy arrival periods. The final fare can depend on the route, traffic, time of travel, luggage and applicable surcharges.

A pre-booked private transfer provides greater certainty because the vehicle category, passenger capacity and service arrangements are confirmed in advance. This can be especially useful when travelling with children, oversized luggage or a larger group.

Car Rental

Several car rental companies operate at Ben Gurion Airport. Renting a vehicle may be practical for travellers planning an extended road trip. For a city stay, however, parking restrictions, traffic congestion and unfamiliar road conditions can make driving less attractive. Tel Aviv has busy streets, limited parking in central neighbourhoods and numerous one-way roads.

Why Pre-Book Your Ben Gurion Airport Transfer?

Pre-booking allows you to organise the journey before arriving in Israel. You can choose a suitable vehicle based on the number of passengers and luggage, provide the complete destination address and add any relevant booking information in advance.

A private transfer is particularly useful when:

  • you are arriving late at night or during limited public transport hours;
  • you are travelling with children or elderly passengers;
  • your hotel is not close to a railway station;
  • you have several suitcases or bulky luggage;
  • you need transportation for a business delegation or group;
  • you are continuing directly to another city.

Unlike shared shuttle services, a private transfer does not require passengers to wait for other travellers or visit several hotels before reaching their own destination. The route is planned around your booking, creating a more direct and predictable arrival experience.

Chauffeur Service in Tel Aviv

WelcomeTaxi also provides chauffeur service for business appointments, conferences, private events and customised itineraries. A vehicle with a professional driver can be booked for a specific journey or for several hours, depending on the travel plan.

Chauffeur-driven transportation is suitable for meetings in Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan’s business district, Herzliya Pituach and other commercial areas. It can also be used for restaurant visits, shopping, private sightseeing and transportation between hotels, offices and event venues.

English-speaking drivers are available on request, making communication easier for international visitors. When booking, provide the itinerary, expected duration, passenger count and any planned stops so that the appropriate vehicle and service can be arranged.

Transfers from TLV to Jerusalem

Ben Gurion Airport is conveniently positioned for travel to both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. A private transfer to Jerusalem is a practical choice for passengers who want to continue directly from the airport to a hotel, apartment or religious site without changing trains or handling luggage between transport services.

Transfers can be arranged to central Jerusalem, the Old City area, West Jerusalem, East Jerusalem and surrounding districts, subject to vehicle access and local traffic restrictions. Journey times can vary significantly depending on congestion and the precise destination.

Regional and Long-Distance Transfers

Ben Gurion Airport is connected to Israel’s main highways, making it a useful starting point for long-distance transfers. WelcomeTaxi can arrange direct transportation from TLV to destinations throughout the country.

Popular regional and long-distance routes include:

  • Ben Gurion Airport to Jerusalem
  • Ben Gurion Airport to Haifa
  • Ben Gurion Airport to Netanya
  • Ben Gurion Airport to Caesarea
  • Ben Gurion Airport to Nazareth
  • Ben Gurion Airport to Tiberias and the Sea of Galilee
  • Ben Gurion Airport to the Dead Sea
  • Ben Gurion Airport to Beersheba
  • Ben Gurion Airport to Eilat

For longer journeys, travelling with a private driver avoids transfers between railway stations and bus terminals. It also allows passengers to travel directly to resorts, rural accommodation and addresses that may not be easily accessible by public transport.

Group and Family Airport Transportation

Families and groups should select a vehicle with enough capacity for both passengers and luggage. A standard passenger car may not be suitable for several large suitcases, pushchairs or sports equipment. Minivans, vans and minibuses can be arranged for larger parties.

When requesting a transfer, include the total number of passengers, the number and approximate size of suitcases, and details of any additional items. Child seats should also be requested in advance so that the required type can be confirmed before the journey.

Useful Information for Travellers

Ben Gurion Airport operates Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Most international arrivals use Terminal 3, while Terminal 1 is also used for certain domestic and low-cost international services. Passengers should always confirm the correct terminal with their airline because terminal arrangements can change.

Israel has heightened airport security procedures, and passengers departing from Ben Gurion Airport are generally advised to arrive earlier than they might at many other airports. Allow sufficient time for security screening, baggage procedures and check-in.

Public transport schedules differ during Shabbat and Jewish holidays. From Friday afternoon until Saturday evening, trains and many regular bus services usually do not operate. Private transfers and taxis are therefore particularly useful during these periods, although advance booking is strongly recommended.

Traffic in and around Tel Aviv can be heavy during weekday rush hours. Allow extra travel time when travelling to the airport in the morning or late afternoon, and when major events, demonstrations, roadworks or holiday traffic may affect the route.

Booking a Transfer from Ben Gurion Airport

To request a private transfer, provide the flight date, scheduled arrival time, flight number, destination address, number of passengers and luggage details. For transfers to the airport, include the required pickup time and departure flight information so that sufficient time can be allowed for the journey and airport formalities.

Whether you need a direct airport transfer to Tel Aviv, a chauffeur for business travel or a long-distance journey across Israel, WelcomeTaxi offers pre-arranged transportation tailored to your itinerary.
