Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Private Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service in Beijing

Beijing is one of Asia’s most important capital cities, combining imperial landmarks, modern business districts, large residential areas, and major international transport hubs. For visitors arriving in China for the first time, transportation in Beijing can feel impressive but complex: the city is vast, distances are long, traffic conditions vary by time of day, and airport choice can significantly affect travel time to the city center.

WelcomeTaxi provides pre-booked private transfers and chauffeur service in Beijing for travelers who want a smoother and more predictable way to move around the city. Whether you are arriving for a business meeting, a cultural trip, a hotel stay, an exhibition, or a private journey across northern China, a reserved vehicle with an English-speaking driver helps remove uncertainty from the first part of the trip.

Beijing Airports: PEK and PKX

Beijing is served by two major international airports: Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) and Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX). Both airports handle domestic and international traffic, but they are located in different parts of the region and can be very different in terms of convenience depending on your hotel, meeting location, or onward route.

Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) is located northeast of central Beijing and has long been the city’s main international gateway. It is often convenient for travelers staying in areas such as Chaoyang, Sanlitun, Wangjing, the embassy district, and parts of the central business area. For many international visitors, PEK remains the most familiar airport in Beijing.

Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) is located south of the city and is known for its large modern terminal and expanding route network. It can be convenient for southern Beijing, parts of Hebei, and some long-distance journeys outside the city. However, for travelers staying in central or northern Beijing, the transfer distance from PKX can be noticeably longer, so it is especially useful to arrange airport transportation in advance.

Airport Transfers from Beijing Capital International Airport

A private airport transfer from Beijing Capital International Airport is a practical choice after a long international flight, especially if you are traveling with luggage, arriving late, or visiting Beijing for business. Instead of looking for a taxi queue, checking local ride-hailing rules, or navigating the airport express with bags, your driver meets you at the airport and takes you directly to your hotel, office, residence, or meeting point.

Transfers from PEK are commonly requested to central Beijing, Wangfujing, Chaoyang, Sanlitun, the CBD, Haidian, and the area around the Forbidden City. Travel time depends heavily on traffic, but pre-booking helps you start the journey with a clear pickup plan and a suitable vehicle class for your group.

Airport Transfers from Beijing Daxing International Airport

Beijing Daxing International Airport is a major hub for the Chinese capital and the surrounding region. Because PKX is located south of Beijing, journey planning is important. A transfer to central Beijing can take longer than many first-time visitors expect, especially during peak traffic hours or when the destination is in the north or northeast of the city.

WelcomeTaxi offers private transfers from PKX to hotels, apartments, business districts, conference venues, embassies, and regional destinations. This service is useful for passengers who prefer a direct door-to-door ride instead of combining airport rail, metro changes, taxis, or local apps. It is also a good option for families, groups, and business travelers who need a comfortable arrival without unnecessary delays.

Chauffeur Service in Beijing

Beijing is not only an airport transfer destination. Many visitors need flexible transportation for meetings, sightseeing, events, diplomatic visits, exhibitions, or multi-stop itineraries. A chauffeur service in Beijing allows you to book a vehicle and driver for a fixed period, making it easier to move between hotels, offices, restaurants, landmarks, and private appointments.

Hourly chauffeur service is especially useful in a city where distances can be significant and traffic can change quickly. Instead of booking separate taxis for each ride, you can keep the same vehicle available for the planned duration. This is convenient for business travelers moving between meetings, families visiting several attractions in one day, or guests who want a more controlled schedule.

Private Transfers for Beijing Sightseeing

Beijing is home to some of China’s most famous landmarks, including the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace, the hutong neighborhoods, and major sections of the Great Wall near the city. Many of these places are spread across different districts, and some day-trip destinations are far outside central Beijing.

A private transfer is a comfortable option when traveling to attractions outside the city center, especially the Great Wall areas such as Mutianyu, Badaling, or Jinshanling. Public transport can be possible for some routes, but it may involve transfers, walking, waiting, and language barriers. With a pre-booked car, the route is arranged in advance and the journey is more direct.

Long-Distance Transfers from Beijing

WelcomeTaxi can arrange long-distance transfers from Beijing to nearby cities, resorts, industrial zones, conference venues, and regional destinations. Common long-distance travel needs may include trips from Beijing to Tianjin, parts of Hebei, business parks, cultural sites, or private addresses outside the city.

For travelers with luggage, families, executives, or small groups, a private long-distance transfer can be more convenient than coordinating train tickets, station transfers, and local taxis at both ends of the journey. It also provides a direct door-to-door option when the destination is not close to a railway station.

Why Pre-Book a Transfer Instead of Taking a Regular Taxi?

Regular taxis are widely available in Beijing, but they are not always the easiest solution for international travelers. Airport queues, language barriers, payment methods, address pronunciation, luggage capacity, and peak-hour demand can all create friction. Ride-hailing apps may also require local setup, mobile verification, or Chinese-language navigation.

With a pre-booked private transfer, your route, pickup location, destination, vehicle type, and price are arranged before the trip. This is particularly valuable at the airport, where a clear meeting point and a confirmed vehicle help reduce stress after arrival. It also helps avoid misunderstandings when traveling to hotels with similar names, large residential compounds, business towers, or destinations outside the city center.

Local Transportation Specifics in Beijing

Beijing has a strong public transport network, including metro lines, airport rail connections, buses, taxis, and high-speed rail stations. The metro is efficient for many city journeys, but it may not be ideal with heavy luggage, during rush hour, or when traveling directly from an airport to a hotel. Large stations can also require long walks between platforms, exits, and taxi areas.

Traffic in Beijing can be heavy, particularly during morning and evening peaks, around major business districts, and near key tourist sites. Travel times should be planned with a margin, especially for airport departures. A private transfer does not remove traffic, but it provides a more controlled and comfortable way to manage the journey.

Book Private Transfers in Beijing with WelcomeTaxi

WelcomeTaxi is an international private transfer and chauffeur service for travelers who want reliable pre-booked transportation. In Beijing, we arrange airport transfers from PEK and PKX, city-to-city rides, hourly chauffeur service, business transportation, and long-distance transfers across the region.

Whether you are arriving at Beijing Capital International Airport, landing at Beijing Daxing International Airport, traveling between meetings, or planning a private trip outside the city, WelcomeTaxi helps you book a suitable vehicle with an English-speaking driver. The result is a more comfortable, predictable, and professional transport experience in one of China’s most important cities.
