Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Private Transportation in Chengdu and Sichuan
Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan Province and one of the most important commercial, cultural, and transportation centres in western China. The city is internationally known for giant pandas, Sichuan cuisine, historic neighbourhoods, teahouse culture, modern shopping districts, and its relaxed urban atmosphere.
Greater Chengdu covers a large area, and journeys between the airports, railway stations, business districts, hotels, and tourist attractions can take considerable time. A pre-booked private transfer provides direct transportation without the need to navigate public transport with luggage, arrange several separate taxis, or communicate a complex itinerary after arrival.
WelcomeTaxi provides private transfers and chauffeur service in Chengdu for individual travellers, families, corporate passengers, tour groups, and visitors travelling between the city and other parts of Sichuan. Transportation can be arranged from airports, railway stations, hotels, private residences, offices, exhibition centres, tourist attractions, and other accessible pickup points.
Airport Transfers from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport
Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU) is a major aviation gateway serving Chengdu and western China. The airport is located southeast of the central city and handles a wide range of domestic and international services. Because of its distance from many central districts, arranging transportation in advance is especially useful.
A private transfer from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport can take passengers directly to hotels and addresses in central Chengdu, including areas around Tianfu Square, Chunxi Road, Taikoo Li, Jinjiang, Wuhou, Qingyang, Chenghua, and the southern business districts. Transfers can also be arranged to railway stations, conference venues, industrial zones, university campuses, or destinations outside Chengdu.
Pre-booking allows the passenger count, luggage, pickup time, flight details, and vehicle requirements to be recorded before arrival. Travellers can choose an appropriate sedan, minivan, van, minibus, or larger vehicle depending on the size of the group and the amount of baggage.
Return transfers from Chengdu to TFU are available for early departures, evening flights, business travellers, and families. Additional travel time should be allowed during busy periods because road conditions and journey times can vary significantly across the metropolitan area.
Transfers from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport
Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) is located closer to the established central districts and remains an important airport for the Chengdu region. Travellers should always check the airport code on their ticket, as TFU and CTU are separate airports located in different parts of the city.
Private airport transfers from CTU are available to central Chengdu, Tianfu New Area, the eastern and northern districts, railway stations, hotels, business parks, and nearby cities. Transportation can also be arranged between Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and Chengdu Tianfu International Airport when passengers need to connect between flights at different airports.
An inter-airport transfer should be planned carefully, with sufficient time allowed for road travel, baggage collection, terminal procedures, and possible congestion. A private vehicle provides a direct journey between the two airports without requiring passengers to manage multiple public transport connections.
Chauffeur Service in Chengdu
Chauffeur service is a practical option for travellers who require a vehicle for several appointments, multiple destinations, or a personalised sightseeing programme. Instead of booking a separate ride for every journey, passengers can reserve a car and driver for a specified number of hours or for a full day.
Hourly chauffeur hire can be used for corporate meetings, factory visits, trade events, conferences, diplomatic travel, shopping, restaurant visits, and private functions. It is also suitable for sightseeing itineraries that include several attractions located in different parts of Chengdu.
English-speaking drivers can make local transportation easier for international travellers. Route details, pickup arrangements, waiting time, stops, and the final destination can be agreed in advance. For complex business or leisure schedules, passengers should provide a clear itinerary when requesting the service.
Transfers to Chengdu’s Main Attractions
Chengdu’s attractions are distributed throughout the city and surrounding districts. One of the best-known destinations is the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, located north of the central area. Visiting early in the day is often preferred, and a private transfer allows travellers to leave directly from their hotel without depending on a group tour schedule.
Other popular destinations include Wuhou Shrine, Jinli Ancient Street, People’s Park, Kuanzhai Alley, Du Fu Thatched Cottage, Qingyang Palace, Tianfu Square, Chunxi Road, and the Taikoo Li shopping and entertainment district. Private transportation is especially useful when combining several locations in a single day.
A chauffeur-driven itinerary can be adjusted to include historical sites, museums, shopping areas, restaurants, parks, and evening entertainment. Passengers can also arrange pickup after dinner or a performance rather than searching for transportation at a busy location.
Railway Station Transfers in Chengdu
Chengdu is served by several major railway stations, and the correct station should always be confirmed before travel. High-speed and conventional trains may depart from different parts of the city, including Chengdu East Railway Station, Chengdu South Railway Station, Chengdu West Railway Station, and other regional terminals.
A private railway station transfer is useful for passengers carrying large suitcases, families with children, business groups, and travellers connecting from an airport. The driver can collect passengers from a hotel, residence, office, or airport and take them directly to the appropriate station.
Pickup can also be arranged after a train arrival. Providing the train number and scheduled arrival time helps ensure that the transfer is planned for the correct terminal and station.
Long-Distance Transfers from Chengdu
Chengdu is a convenient starting point for private journeys to cultural, natural, and business destinations across Sichuan. Long-distance transfers are available for travellers who prefer a direct vehicle instead of navigating railway stations, bus terminals, or multiple connections.
Leshan is a frequent destination for visitors travelling to see the Leshan Giant Buddha. A transfer may be booked as a one-way journey, a round trip, or as part of a full-day itinerary. Mount Emei can also be combined with Leshan, although the route and duration should be planned according to the required stops and available time.
Dujiangyan and Mount Qingcheng are popular destinations northwest of Chengdu. Private transportation allows passengers to travel from their hotel to the scenic area and return at a pre-arranged time. Other possible regional journeys include Ya’an, Meishan, Deyang, Mianyang, Zigong, and destinations in the wider Sichuan region.
For multi-day travel, the route should be provided in detail, including each day’s pickup point, planned stops, approximate duration, overnight location, and final drop-off. This allows the correct vehicle and pricing structure to be selected.
Why Pre-Book a Transfer Instead of Taking a Regular Taxi?
Regular taxis and app-based ride services are widely used in Chengdu, but they may not always be the most practical option for airport arrivals, large groups, passengers with substantial luggage, or travellers who do not speak Chinese. Pickup points at airports and railway stations can also be unfamiliar to first-time visitors.
A pre-booked transfer provides a confirmed route, vehicle class, pickup time, and destination. The service is private, so the vehicle is not shared with unrelated passengers and does not make additional stops unless these have been requested.
Pre-booking is particularly valuable when a van, minibus, child seat, or specific luggage capacity is required. It also helps travellers plan inter-airport connections, long-distance journeys, and early-morning departures in advance.
Local Transportation and Travel Planning
Chengdu has an extensive metro system, public buses, taxis, and high-speed railway connections. Public transportation is useful for many journeys within the city, but distances can be substantial and stations may involve long walks, security procedures, transfers, and crowded conditions.
Road traffic can be heavy during weekday commuting periods, holidays, exhibitions, and major events. Journey times between Tianfu Airport, Shuangliu Airport, central Chengdu, and the outer districts should therefore be treated as estimates rather than fixed durations.
International visitors should keep the destination name and address available in both English and Chinese whenever possible. Hotel names may have several English translations, while large compounds, office parks, and residential developments may have multiple entrances. Providing a precise address, building name, contact number, and any relevant entrance instructions helps avoid delays.
Private Transfers for Business and Leisure
Chengdu receives international tourists, conference delegates, technology professionals, manufacturing specialists, students, and corporate travellers. WelcomeTaxi can provide transportation for a single airport pickup, a return transfer, a sequence of business meetings, or a multi-day regional itinerary.
Services are available between airports, hotels, railway stations, offices, restaurants, exhibition centres, tourist attractions, industrial areas, and private addresses. Each booking is arranged according to the route, timing, passenger count, luggage, and required vehicle type.
By booking your Chengdu transportation in advance, you receive a direct and organised travel solution with an English-speaking driver and a suitable private vehicle. Whether you need an airport transfer, chauffeur service, inter-airport connection, railway station pickup, or a long-distance journey across Sichuan, pre-booking provides greater comfort and control over your itinerary.
