Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Private Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service in Bari
Bari is one of the main gateways to southern Italy and the capital of the Puglia region. Located on the Adriatic coast, the city combines a historic old town, an active commercial port, seaside promenades, business areas, and excellent access to some of the most visited destinations in Puglia and nearby Basilicata. For many travellers, Bari is not only a destination in itself but also the starting point for trips to Alberobello, Matera, Polignano a Mare, Monopoli, Ostuni, Lecce, and the wider Apulian coast.
WelcomeTaxi provides private transfers and chauffeur service in Bari for airport arrivals, hotel transfers, cruise port pickups, business travel, family trips, and long-distance journeys. Instead of arranging transport after arrival, you can pre-book a private car, minivan, van, or larger vehicle according to your route, luggage, and passenger count.
Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport Transfers
Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport (BRI), also known as Bari Palese Airport, is the main airport serving Bari and much of central and northern Puglia. It is located close to the city, but airport arrivals can still be stressful, especially during peak travel periods, late evenings, summer holidays, or when travelling with luggage, children, or a group.
A pre-booked airport transfer from Bari Airport gives you a fixed pickup plan and a direct journey to your accommodation, office, cruise terminal, villa, resort, or another city. Your driver meets you according to the booked details and takes you directly to your destination without the need to wait for a taxi queue, compare local fares, or manage several connections with luggage.
Popular private transfer routes from Bari Airport include Bari city centre, Bari Centrale, Bari Port, Polignano a Mare, Monopoli, Alberobello, Matera, Ostuni, Trani, Lecce, and Brindisi. Bari is also a practical arrival point for travellers continuing to rural villas, wedding venues, masserie, seaside resorts, and small towns where public transport may be limited or inconvenient.
Transfers from Bari Port and Cruise Terminal
Bari is an important ferry and cruise port on the Adriatic Sea, with connections to destinations across the region and beyond. Travellers arriving by cruise ship or ferry often need reliable transport from the port to hotels, the airport, nearby towns, or long-distance destinations in Puglia and Basilicata.
Private transfers from Bari Port are especially useful when arrival times are tight, when several passengers travel together, or when luggage makes public transport difficult. WelcomeTaxi can arrange direct transport from the cruise or ferry area to Bari Airport, the city centre, Matera, Alberobello, Polignano a Mare, Monopoli, Ostuni, Lecce, or other regional destinations.
Chauffeur Service in Bari
Chauffeur service in Bari is a comfortable option for travellers who need more than a simple point-to-point ride. It can be used for business meetings, events, hotel-to-restaurant transfers, sightseeing routes, weddings, private itineraries, and multi-stop travel around Puglia.
With a pre-booked chauffeur service, you can plan your route in advance and avoid the uncertainty of finding transport during the day. This is particularly useful in areas where taxis may not be readily available, where parking is difficult, or where the itinerary includes several towns in one day. Bari’s location makes it a strong base for private day trips to coastal towns, UNESCO-listed areas, countryside venues, and historic centres.
Long-Distance Transfers from Bari
Bari is well positioned for long-distance private transfers across southern Italy. Many travellers arrive at Bari Airport and continue directly to destinations outside the city, including Matera in Basilicata, the trulli area around Alberobello, the beaches near Monopoli and Polignano a Mare, or the Salento region further south.
Long-distance transfers are often more practical than taking several trains or buses, especially when travelling with family, large luggage, sports equipment, or a fixed schedule. A private transfer provides a direct door-to-door journey and removes the need to coordinate local transport at each stage of the trip.
Common long-distance routes from Bari include Bari to Matera, Bari to Alberobello, Bari to Lecce, Bari to Ostuni, Bari to Taranto, Bari to Brindisi, Bari to Vieste, and Bari to Naples. For travellers with flights from another airport, transfers between Bari Airport (BRI) and Brindisi Airport (BDS) can also be arranged.
Why Book a Private Transfer Instead of a Regular Taxi?
Regular taxis can work well for short city rides, but they are not always ideal for airport arrivals, regional travel, cruise pickups, or routes outside Bari. Availability may vary by time of day and season, larger vehicles may be limited, and not every driver will be prepared for long-distance journeys or complex itineraries.
A pre-booked private transfer gives you more control. You choose the route, date, pickup time, vehicle type, and destination in advance. This is useful for travellers arriving late, families with children, business guests, cruise passengers, and groups who need enough space for both passengers and luggage.
For visitors who do not speak Italian, English-speaking drivers can make the arrival process easier. Clear booking details also help avoid misunderstandings about pickup location, destination, vehicle size, and timing.
Local Transportation in Bari
Bari has a useful transport network for local and regional travel, including trains, buses, and connections from the airport to the city. Bari Centrale is the main railway station and a key transport hub for travel across Puglia and beyond. Public transport can be a good choice for simple city-to-city journeys, especially when travelling light and without time pressure.
However, many destinations in Puglia are not equally convenient by public transport. Coastal towns, countryside hotels, villas, masserie, wedding venues, and smaller historic centres may require several connections, walking with luggage, or onward local taxis. During summer, transport demand can also increase sharply, especially around airports, beaches, and popular towns.
For direct travel from Bari Airport, Bari Port, or a hotel to a specific address, a private transfer is often the more practical option. It is especially helpful when the destination is outside the main urban area or when the trip involves early departures, late arrivals, children, luggage, or multiple passengers.
Regional Travel Around Puglia and Southern Italy
Bari is one of the best starting points for exploring Puglia. From the city, travellers can reach the whitewashed towns of the Itria Valley, the beaches of the Adriatic coast, the cave city of Matera, and the historic towns of southern Italy. Many visitors combine Bari with Polignano a Mare, Monop
