Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Private Transfers and Chauffeur Service in Amsterdam
Amsterdam is one of Europe’s most visited cities, known for its canals, historic architecture, museums, business districts, and international atmosphere. As the capital of the Netherlands, the city attracts millions of leisure and business travelers every year. Efficient transportation is essential for navigating both Amsterdam itself and the wider Randstad region, especially for visitors arriving through Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
WelcomeTaxi offers private transfers and chauffeur service in Amsterdam for airport arrivals, hotel transportation, corporate travel, sightseeing, and long-distance transfers throughout the Netherlands and neighboring countries. Pre-booked transportation provides a reliable and comfortable alternative to regular taxis and public transport, particularly after long flights or during busy travel periods.
Airport Transfers from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is one of Europe’s busiest aviation hubs and the primary international gateway to the Netherlands. Located southwest of the city center, Schiphol handles a large volume of international flights, including intercontinental connections from North America, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
Travelers arriving at Schiphol often face crowded train platforms, long taxi queues, and fluctuating transportation prices during peak hours. A pre-booked airport transfer simplifies the arrival process with fixed pricing, professional meet-and-greet service, and direct transportation to hotels, apartments, offices, or cruise terminals.
Private Schiphol airport transfers are particularly convenient for:
- business travelers with tight schedules,
- families with luggage,
- first-time visitors to Amsterdam,
- travelers arriving late at night,
- groups traveling to conferences or events,
- passengers continuing to other Dutch cities.
WelcomeTaxi drivers monitor incoming flights and adjust pickup times in case of delays, helping travelers avoid unnecessary stress after arrival.
Why Choose a Private Transfer in Amsterdam
Amsterdam is compact compared to many European capitals, but transportation can still be challenging due to heavy bicycle traffic, narrow streets, canal-side roads, and busy public transport systems. During tourist seasons, major events, and rainy weather, regular taxis may be difficult to find and significantly more expensive.
Pre-booked chauffeur service offers several advantages:
Fixed Pricing
Unlike regular street taxis, private transfers are booked in advance with transparent pricing. Travelers know the total cost before the trip begins, reducing uncertainty and avoiding unexpected surcharges.
Professional Meet-and-Greet Service
Airport pickups typically include driver meet-and-greet inside the terminal, helping visitors quickly locate their transportation after arrival.
Comfortable Vehicles
Private transfers provide a range of vehicle options for solo travelers, families, corporate passengers, and larger groups. This is especially useful for travelers carrying large luggage or equipment.
English-Speaking Drivers
International visitors often prefer English-speaking drivers who can assist with local travel information and communication during the trip.
Efficient Door-to-Door Transportation
Amsterdam’s train and tram systems are efficient, but they may not always be practical for travelers with multiple suitcases, children, or tight schedules. Private transfers provide direct transportation without additional transfers or walking.
Chauffeur Service for Business Travel
Amsterdam is an important European business destination, hosting international corporations, conferences, financial institutions, and technology companies. Areas such as Zuidas, Amsterdam South, and the RAI convention center regularly attract business travelers from around the world.
Professional chauffeur service is commonly used for:
- airport-to-office transfers,
- corporate meetings,
- conference transportation,
- roadshows,
- executive travel,
- client transportation,
- hotel-to-event transfers.
Business travelers often prioritize punctuality, reliability, and comfort, especially when moving between meetings or arriving after long international flights.
Long-Distance Transfers Across the Netherlands
Amsterdam is also a starting point for regional and intercity travel throughout the Netherlands. Many visitors combine Amsterdam with other Dutch destinations during the same trip.
Popular long-distance transfer routes include:
Amsterdam to Rotterdam
Rotterdam is known for its modern architecture, Europe’s largest seaport, and growing business sector. Private transfers between Amsterdam and Rotterdam are frequently used by both tourists and corporate travelers.
Amsterdam to The Hague
The Hague is home to the Dutch government, international courts, embassies, and major institutions. Chauffeur service between Amsterdam and The Hague is especially common for diplomatic and business travel.
Amsterdam to Utrecht
Located in the center of the Netherlands, Utrecht combines historic canals with a major university and business community. It is one of the country’s most important transport hubs.
Amsterdam to Eindhoven
Eindhoven is a technology and innovation center in the southern Netherlands, attracting business travelers attending conferences and visiting technology companies.
Amsterdam to Brussels
International transfers between Amsterdam and Brussels are also popular for travelers continuing into Belgium. Private transportation offers flexibility compared to train schedules and airport connections.
Transportation in Amsterdam
Amsterdam has an extensive public transportation network including trams, buses, ferries, and metro lines. Cycling is also a major part of daily life in the city, and many streets prioritize bicycles over cars.
While public transport works well for many local trips, visitors should be aware of several local transportation characteristics:
Busy Tourist Areas
Central Amsterdam can become crowded, especially around Dam Square, the Red Light District, Central Station, and the museum quarter. Traffic congestion and pedestrian density may increase travel times.
Limited Parking
Parking in Amsterdam is expensive and limited. Many travelers prefer private transfers instead of renting a car within the city center.
Narrow Streets and Canal Areas
Historic canal districts feature narrow streets and restricted access areas. Professional local drivers are familiar with optimal pickup and drop-off points.
Weather Conditions
Rain and wind are common throughout the year in the Netherlands. Private transportation provides additional comfort compared to walking or waiting for public transport during poor weather.
Cruise Port and Hotel Transfers
Amsterdam is also an important cruise destination in Northern Europe. Many passengers require transportation between Schiphol Airport, hotels, and cruise terminals before or after their voyages.
Private transfers are commonly booked for:
- cruise port pickups,
- hotel transfers,
- group transportation,
- early morning departures,
- late evening arrivals.
Travelers staying in canal hotels or historic city-center properties often appreciate direct transportation assistance with luggage.
Exploring the Netherlands from Amsterdam
The Netherlands is relatively compact, making many destinations accessible by road within a few hours. Travelers frequently use private chauffeur service for day trips and regional travel.
Popular destinations include:
- Keukenhof Gardens,
- Zaanse Schans,
- Giethoorn,
- Kinderdijk,
- Delft,
- Haarlem,
- Maastricht,
- Bruges in Belgium.
Private transportation allows visitors to travel at their own pace without depending on train schedules or navigating unfamiliar transport systems.
Pre-Booked Transfers vs Regular Taxis
Although taxis are available in Amsterdam, pre-booked transfers offer several practical advantages for international travelers.
Regular taxis may involve:
- uncertain wait times,
- limited vehicle availability,
- dynamic pricing during busy periods,
- communication difficulties,
- lack of guaranteed child seats or larger vehicles.
By comparison, pre-arranged chauffeur service provides predictable transportation with confirmed pickup details and customer support before arrival.
Travel Comfort in Amsterdam
Amsterdam welcomes visitors year-round for tourism, business, events, and conferences. Whether arriving for a canal cruise, museum visit, business meeting, or regional tour, reliable transportation plays an important role in the overall travel experience.
WelcomeTaxi provides private transfers and chauffeur service in Amsterdam with professional drivers, fixed pricing, airport meet-and-greet service, and comfortable transportation throughout the Netherlands and neighboring regions.
