Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service in Cusco
Cusco is one of Peru’s most important cultural and tourism destinations and the principal gateway to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. Once the capital of the Inca Empire, the city combines archaeological sites, colonial architecture, traditional neighbourhoods and a well-developed tourism infrastructure in the Peruvian Andes.
WelcomeTaxi provides pre-booked private transfers and chauffeur services in Cusco for travellers who prefer to arrange transportation before arrival. Services can include airport pickups, hotel transfers, point-to-point journeys within the city, hourly chauffeur hire and long-distance transportation to destinations throughout the Cusco region and southern Peru.
Cusco Airport Transfers
Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ) is the main commercial airport serving Cusco. The airport is located within the urban area, relatively close to the historic centre, making transfers to many hotels and accommodation areas straightforward.
A pre-booked private transfer from Cusco Airport provides direct transportation to a hotel, apartment or other address without the need to arrange a taxi after landing. Passengers can reserve an appropriate vehicle in advance according to the number of travellers, luggage requirements and destination.
Airport transfers are particularly convenient for families, small groups and passengers arriving after a long journey through Lima or another connecting airport. Larger vehicles can be requested where available for travellers who need additional luggage capacity.
Pickup from Alejandro Velasco Astete Airport
Passengers booking an airport pickup should provide accurate flight information in advance. This helps coordinate the service with the scheduled arrival and makes collection at the terminal easier to organise.
Transfers can also be arranged from hotels and private addresses in Cusco to CUZ Airport for departing flights. Although the airport is close to the city, traffic conditions can affect journey times, so travellers should allow sufficient time before departure.
Private Transfers Around Cusco
Cusco’s historic centre is compact and many major attractions can be explored on foot, but the wider city extends across hilly terrain at high altitude. Hotels, residential districts, railway stations and archaeological sites can be located some distance apart, making private transportation useful for certain journeys.
Private transfers can be arranged between the airport, hotels, railway connections and other accessible locations in and around the city. This is particularly convenient for passengers carrying luggage or travellers who prefer direct transportation rather than navigating local transport after arrival.
WelcomeTaxi services are reserved before travel. Passengers can specify their pickup location, destination, group size and vehicle requirements in advance, helping make their transportation easier to plan.
Chauffeur Service in Cusco
Hourly chauffeur service is suitable for travellers who require a vehicle for several hours rather than a single point-to-point journey. It can be useful for business travel, customised sightseeing, visits to archaeological sites or itineraries involving several locations around Cusco.
The same vehicle remains available for the agreed period, giving passengers greater flexibility than arranging separate taxis for each journey. Chauffeur hire can also be useful when combining locations inside the city with attractions in the surrounding countryside.
English-speaking drivers can be requested for international visitors, making communication easier when coordinating pickup arrangements, destinations and schedule changes.
Transfers from Cusco to the Sacred Valley
The Sacred Valley of the Incas is one of the most popular regions visited from Cusco. Stretching through the Andes northwest of the city, it includes historic towns, archaeological sites, traditional communities and some of the region’s best-known hotels and resorts.
Private transfers can be arranged from Cusco Airport or a city hotel to destinations such as Pisac, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo. Door-to-door transportation is particularly useful for travellers carrying luggage or staying at accommodation outside the main town centres.
A private car also allows passengers to travel directly to their chosen Sacred Valley destination without first returning to a bus or shared transport departure point in central Cusco.
Cusco to Ollantaytambo Transfers
Ollantaytambo is both an important archaeological destination and one of the main railway departure points for journeys toward Machu Picchu. Many travellers therefore use private transportation from Cusco or Cusco Airport to Ollantaytambo before continuing their journey by train.
A pre-booked transfer provides direct transportation from the passenger’s hotel or airport pickup point to accommodation or the accessible road area near the railway station in Ollantaytambo. This is especially convenient when travelling with suitcases or coordinating the road journey with a specific train departure.
The service can also be arranged in reverse for passengers returning from Ollantaytambo to Cusco after visiting Machu Picchu or travelling through the Sacred Valley.
Travelling from Cusco toward Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu is not reached by a conventional direct road transfer from Cusco. Most visitors combine road and rail transportation, often travelling to a railway station in Cusco, Poroy or Ollantaytambo before continuing toward Machu Picchu Pueblo, also known as Aguas Calientes.
A private transfer can simplify the road portion of this journey. Passengers can arrange transportation from Cusco Airport or their hotel to the appropriate railway departure point, reducing the need to organise additional taxis while travelling with luggage.
For visitors staying in the Sacred Valley before travelling to Machu Picchu, a private car can also connect Cusco with their hotel in Pisac, Urubamba or Ollantaytambo.
Cusco to Pisac and Urubamba
Pisac and Urubamba are among the most popular destinations in the Sacred Valley. Pisac is known for its archaeological complex and traditional town, while Urubamba serves as an important accommodation and transport centre with numerous hotels and resorts throughout the surrounding valley.
Private transfers from Cusco provide direct transportation to hotels, lodges and other accessible addresses in these areas. They are suitable both for one-way travel and for travellers using Cusco as the starting point for a longer Sacred Valley itinerary.
Long-Distance Transfers from Cusco
Cusco is connected by road with destinations throughout southern Peru. In addition to the Sacred Valley, private long-distance transportation may be arranged toward destinations such as Abancay, Puno and other towns depending on the route and local vehicle availability.
For longer journeys, a private transfer provides door-to-door transportation without requiring passengers to move luggage between buses, terminals and local taxis. This can be especially useful for families, groups and travellers following a customised itinerary through southern Peru.
Journey times can be considerable because of the mountainous terrain and distances involved, so long-distance routes should be planned carefully in advance.
Private Transfer or Regular Taxi?
Taxis are widely available in Cusco and can be practical for spontaneous journeys within the city. A pre-booked private transfer is better suited to trips where the pickup time, destination and vehicle requirements are already known.
For airport arrivals, passengers can arrange transportation before their flight rather than searching for a vehicle after landing. For Sacred Valley journeys, pre-booking provides a direct service to hotels and railway connections outside central Cusco.
Groups and passengers with substantial luggage can also request a suitable vehicle in advance, which can be more convenient than relying on whichever taxi is immediately available.
Getting Around Cusco
Cusco is situated at high altitude in the Andes, and many streets in the historic centre are steep, narrow or unsuitable for large vehicles. Travellers arriving from lower elevations may also prefer to take their first days at a slower pace while adjusting to the altitude.
Private transportation can be particularly useful when moving luggage between the airport and accommodation or when visiting destinations outside the walkable historic centre. Exact pickup points may occasionally depend on vehicle access to narrow streets or pedestrian areas.
For itineraries involving several sites in one day, hourly chauffeur service provides additional flexibility and reduces the need to arrange transportation separately at every stop.
Regional Travel from Cusco
Cusco is the natural starting point for many journeys through the surrounding Andes. The Sacred Valley, archaeological sites, mountain communities and railway connections toward Machu Picchu are all part of the wider regional travel network.
A pre-booked vehicle can connect the airport or a city hotel directly with the next stage of the journey. This is particularly useful for travellers whose first night is in the Sacred Valley rather than central Cusco, or for those travelling directly to Ollantaytambo for an onward train.
Whether you require a Cusco Airport transfer, a private car to the Sacred Valley, transportation to Ollantaytambo, hourly chauffeur service or a longer journey through southern Peru, booking in advance provides a convenient way to organise travel from door to door.
