Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Private Transport in Stockholm and Central Sweden
Stockholm is the capital of Sweden and one of Northern Europe’s leading destinations for tourism, business, design and technology. Built across islands between Lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea, the city combines historic neighbourhoods, modern commercial districts, waterfront hotels and residential areas spread across a wide metropolitan region.
Visitors arrive for city breaks, conferences, corporate meetings, cruises, cultural events and onward travel through Sweden. Although Stockholm has an extensive public transport system, a pre-booked private transfer offers a more direct and comfortable solution when travelling with luggage, children, colleagues or a larger group.
WelcomeTaxi provides private airport transfers, chauffeur service and long-distance transportation in Stockholm and surrounding parts of Sweden. Services can be arranged between airports, hotels, homes, railway stations, ferry terminals, cruise ports, offices and event venues.
Stockholm Airport Transfers
Transfers from Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN)
Stockholm Arlanda Airport is the principal international airport serving the Swedish capital. Located north of Stockholm, it handles domestic, European and long-haul flights and is the most common arrival point for international visitors.
Passengers can reach the city by express train, commuter rail, airport coach, taxi or private transfer. Rail services are convenient for travellers heading to locations near central stations, but they may be less practical for families, groups or passengers carrying several suitcases.
A private airport transfer from Arlanda provides direct transportation to the requested hotel, apartment, office or residential address. There is no need to change trains, carry luggage between platforms or arrange another taxi for the final part of the journey.
Transfers can be booked to central areas such as Norrmalm, Östermalm, Vasastan, Södermalm and Gamla Stan, as well as destinations outside the city centre. Private vehicles are also available for journeys from ARN to Solna, Sundbyberg, Täby, Danderyd, Lidingö and other municipalities around Stockholm.
For departures, the pickup time should allow for the road journey, terminal procedures and possible traffic delays. Early-morning transfers are particularly useful when regular public transport connections are less convenient.
Transfers from Bromma Stockholm Airport (BMA)
Bromma Stockholm Airport is situated close to the city and is the nearest airport to central Stockholm. Its location can make it convenient for passengers using the flights available there or travelling to western and northern parts of the metropolitan area.
A private transfer from Bromma can provide a quick door-to-door connection to hotels, offices and residential addresses. It is also suitable for travellers continuing to Solna, Sundbyberg, Bromma, Kungsholmen or other nearby districts.
Despite the airport’s proximity to the centre, journey times still depend on traffic and the final destination. Advance booking ensures that the correct vehicle type and luggage capacity are arranged before arrival.
Transfers from Stockholm Skavsta Airport (NYO)
Stockholm Skavsta Airport is located near Nyköping, well south of Stockholm. It serves the wider Stockholm region but is significantly farther from the capital than Arlanda or Bromma.
Scheduled coaches provide connections to Stockholm, but passengers must travel according to the bus timetable and may still need additional transportation after reaching the city. A private transfer from Skavsta offers a direct journey from the terminal to the final address.
This option can be especially convenient for families, groups, late arrivals and passengers with bulky luggage. It is also practical for travellers whose destination is outside central Stockholm, as the journey can be planned without unnecessary travel through a city-centre bus terminal.
Private transfers from NYO can also serve Nyköping, Södertälje and other destinations in the southern part of the Stockholm region.
Transfers from Stockholm Västerås Airport (VST)
Stockholm Västerås Airport is located near the city of Västerås, west of Stockholm. Like Skavsta, it is marketed as an airport serving the wider Stockholm area, although the road journey to the capital is relatively long.
A pre-booked transfer provides direct travel between the airport and Stockholm without relying on a scheduled coach or arranging several separate connections. Services can also be booked to Västerås itself, Enköping, Eskilstuna and other locations in central Sweden.
For passengers arriving as a group, one larger vehicle may be more convenient than purchasing separate tickets and managing luggage across several stages of public transport.
Chauffeur Service in Stockholm
A chauffeur service provides flexible private transportation for passengers who require more than a single transfer. The driver and vehicle can remain available for an agreed period, allowing several meetings, attractions or event locations to be combined in one booking.
Hourly chauffeur hire is suitable for business travellers, diplomatic visits, corporate delegations, weddings, conferences, shopping trips and private sightseeing. Passengers can start from an airport, hotel or private address and follow a planned itinerary without arranging a new taxi at every stop.
Stockholm is an important centre for finance, technology, government and international business. A chauffeured vehicle can connect offices and meeting venues in central Stockholm, Kista, Solna, Nacka and other commercial areas.
Executive and premium vehicles may be requested for formal occasions or senior corporate travellers. Vans and minibuses are available when several colleagues or event participants need to travel together.
Private Sightseeing and City Transportation
Stockholm’s attractions are located across several islands and districts. Public transport is efficient, but a private vehicle can make it easier to combine places that are not situated along one direct route.
A chauffeur-driven itinerary may include the historic streets of Gamla Stan, the Royal Palace, City Hall, the Vasa Museum, Djurgården, the ABBA Museum and viewpoints around Södermalm. Passengers can also visit Drottningholm Palace or destinations outside the central tourist area.
Some parts of the old town have restricted vehicle access, and the driver may need to use the nearest permitted pickup or drop-off point. Providing the exact hotel or attraction name helps determine the most suitable meeting location.
Hourly hire is also useful during winter, when cold weather, snow or icy streets can make repeated outdoor transfers less comfortable.
Transfers to Stockholm Hotels and Railway Stations
Private transfers are available to hotels throughout central Stockholm and the wider metropolitan area. Door-to-door service is helpful when accommodation is located away from a railway station or when the passenger is unfamiliar with the city.
Stockholm Central Station is the main hub for national and regional rail services. Transfers can be arranged between the station, airports, hotels and cruise terminals. Passengers arriving by train can continue directly to their final address without navigating the metro or searching for a taxi with sufficient luggage space.
Transportation can also be booked to other stations, including those in Solna, Flemingsberg and surrounding municipalities.
Stockholm Cruise and Ferry Transfers
Stockholm is a major Baltic cruise destination and an important departure point for ferries travelling to Finland, Estonia and other destinations. Different ships use different terminals, so passengers should provide the vessel name and terminal information when requesting a transfer.
A private cruise transfer can connect Arlanda Airport with a Stockholm hotel or take passengers directly to the correct terminal. Transfers are also available between cruise facilities, railway stations and private addresses.
Cruise passengers often travel with more luggage than ordinary city visitors. Reserving a suitable vehicle in advance helps ensure that there is enough space for both passengers and suitcases.
Groups can request vans, minibuses or coaches for coordinated transportation to the port. This avoids splitting the party between several taxis and simplifies arrival procedures.
Getting Around Stockholm
Stockholm has a comprehensive public transport system consisting of metro trains, commuter rail, buses, trams and passenger ferries. It is an effective choice for many journeys within the city and surrounding county.
However, Stockholm’s geography can make some routes less direct than they appear on a map. Waterways, bridges and islands influence road travel, and two nearby locations may require a longer route than expected.
A private transfer is often preferable when the journey involves several passengers, heavy luggage, strict timing or destinations outside the central network. It is also useful for airport trips that begin before normal daytime services or finish late at night.
Traffic can be heavier during weekday commuting periods and around major events. Winter weather may also affect journey times. Passengers travelling to an airport, ferry departure or important meeting should include a reasonable time allowance.
Why Pre-Book Instead of Taking a Regular Taxi?
Regular taxis are widely available in Stockholm, but a pre-booked transfer provides greater certainty for an important journey. The date, pickup time, addresses, passenger number and vehicle requirements are recorded before the service begins.
Advance booking is particularly useful at Skavsta and Västerås airports, where the journey to Stockholm is long and passengers may otherwise depend on scheduled coaches. It also helps groups avoid waiting for several available taxis after landing.
The vehicle can be selected according to the number of passengers and quantity of luggage. Families can request appropriate child-seat arrangements, while larger parties can reserve a van or minibus.
An English-speaking driver makes communication easier for international visitors. The passenger can travel directly to the destination without explaining the route to an unfamiliar driver or dealing with several separate transport providers.
Long-Distance Transfers from Stockholm
Stockholm is a convenient starting point for journeys throughout central and southern Sweden. WelcomeTaxi can arrange long-distance transfers to cities, resorts, conference venues, ferry ports and private destinations.
Uppsala is one of the most popular regional destinations and can be reached directly from Stockholm or Arlanda Airport. Private transfers can also be arranged to Västerås, Örebro, Nyköping, Linköping, Norrköping and other Swedish cities.
Regional transportation may be suitable for travellers visiting countryside hotels, castles, industrial facilities or homes that are not easily reached by direct public transport. It also provides flexibility when the itinerary includes additional stops.
For longer routes, the booking should account for driving time, road conditions and any required breaks. Winter travel may take longer because of snow, ice or reduced visibility.
Vehicle Options for Stockholm Transfers
Sedans are suitable for individual travellers, couples and small groups carrying a standard amount of luggage. Business and premium vehicles can be requested for executive journeys, formal events or passengers who prefer additional comfort.
Vans provide more passenger and luggage capacity and are commonly used for families, corporate teams and cruise travellers. Minibuses and coaches can be arranged for conferences, tour groups and larger organised parties.
Passengers should provide accurate information about suitcases, pushchairs, wheelchairs, skis or oversized equipment. The number of passenger seats alone does not determine whether a vehicle has enough luggage space.
Planning Your Stockholm Transfer
To request a private transfer, provide the complete pickup and drop-off addresses, travel date, pickup time, number of passengers and total luggage quantity. Airport bookings should include the flight number, while cruise transfers should include the ship and terminal details.
For chauffeur hire, describe the planned route, expected duration and intermediate stops. Long-distance bookings should include the full destination address and any required breaks or additional pickups.
WelcomeTaxi offers international private transfer and chauffeur services in Stockholm and across Sweden. Advance booking provides a convenient way to organise airport transportation, city journeys, business travel and regional transfers with a suitable vehicle and professional driver.
