Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Barcelona Airport
Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport (BCN), commonly known as Barcelona Airport or Barcelona–El Prat, is the main international airport serving Barcelona, Catalonia and one of the busiest travel regions in Spain. Located southwest of the city centre, the airport is a major arrival point for leisure travellers, cruise passengers, business visitors, families and groups heading to Barcelona, the Costa Brava, the Costa Dorada, Andorra and other destinations across northeastern Spain.
WelcomeTaxi provides private airport transfers, chauffeur service and long-distance transfers from Barcelona Airport with pre-booked vehicles and professional English-speaking drivers. Instead of searching for transport after landing, you can arrange your ride in advance and travel directly from the terminal to your hotel, apartment, cruise port, meeting venue or regional destination.
Getting from Barcelona Airport to the City
Barcelona Airport is well connected with the city, and travellers can choose between several transport options depending on budget, luggage, arrival time and final destination. The main choices include train, metro, airport bus, regular taxi, rental car and private transfer.
The Aerobús is a popular shuttle option between the airport and central Barcelona, with stops such as Plaça d’Espanya and Plaça de Catalunya. It is convenient for solo travellers staying near the route, but less practical if you have heavy luggage, children, late-night arrival, or accommodation in a narrow street away from the main stops.
The metro connects the airport with the Barcelona public transport network. It can be useful for passengers familiar with the city, but it usually requires at least one change to reach many hotels or residential areas. The train is another option from Terminal 2, connecting the airport with stations in Barcelona, although passengers arriving at Terminal 1 may need to use the airport shuttle between terminals.
Regular taxis are available at the airport taxi ranks. This can be a simple solution for short city rides, but the final price may depend on traffic, surcharges, luggage, night rates and the exact route. During busy travel periods, cruise days, large events or late arrivals, waiting time at the taxi queue can also become an issue.
Private Airport Transfers from BCN
A pre-booked private transfer from Barcelona Airport is the most comfortable door-to-door option. Your driver meets you at the agreed location, helps with luggage and takes you directly to your destination without unnecessary stops or changes. This is especially useful after a long flight, when travelling with family, carrying several suitcases, arriving for a cruise, or heading outside Barcelona city centre.
WelcomeTaxi offers transfers from BCN to hotels, private addresses, business districts, exhibition venues, Barcelona Cruise Port, railway stations and coastal resorts. Popular transfer routes include Barcelona Airport to the Gothic Quarter, Eixample, Diagonal, Barceloneta, Sants Station, Fira Barcelona, Sitges, Castelldefels, Tarragona, Girona, Lloret de Mar, Salou and Andorra.
For travellers who value predictability, a private airport transfer is often easier than combining several forms of public transport. You receive a pre-arranged service, a suitable vehicle class and clear pickup instructions. This makes the arrival process smoother, particularly for passengers who do not speak Spanish or Catalan, or who are visiting Barcelona for the first time.
Chauffeur Service in Barcelona
Barcelona is a major business, conference and cruise destination, and many visitors need more than a simple airport pickup. WelcomeTaxi can arrange chauffeur service in Barcelona for business meetings, hourly hire, event transportation, private sightseeing, restaurant transfers and corporate roadshows.
An hourly chauffeur service gives you flexibility during the day. Instead of booking separate point-to-point rides, you can keep the vehicle and driver available for several hours while moving between meetings, hotels, restaurants, shopping areas or landmarks. This is practical for business travellers, VIP guests, families with a busy itinerary and visitors who prefer a private vehicle rather than taxis or public transport.
Barcelona traffic can be dense, especially around the city centre, the waterfront, Passeig de Gràcia, Sants Station, the cruise port and major event venues. A local professional driver helps make the day more efficient, choosing practical routes and managing pickup points where access may be restricted or crowded.
Transfers to Barcelona Cruise Port and Sants Station
Barcelona is one of the busiest cruise ports in the Mediterranean. Many passengers arrive at Barcelona Airport and continue directly to the cruise terminal, while others stay in the city before or after their voyage. A private transfer from BCN to Barcelona Cruise Port is a convenient option because it avoids dragging luggage through buses, metro stations or taxi queues.
Transfers are also available from Barcelona Airport to Barcelona Sants Station, the city’s main railway hub for high-speed and regional trains. This is useful for passengers connecting to Madrid, Zaragoza, Valencia, Girona, Figueres, Tarragona, France and other destinations by rail. With a pre-booked car, you can plan your airport-to-station connection with less stress and better control over timing.
Regional and Long-Distance Transfers from Barcelona Airport
Barcelona Airport is not only an entry point to the city. It is also a practical starting point for private long-distance transfers across Catalonia, eastern Spain, southern France and Andorra. WelcomeTaxi can arrange direct transfers from BCN to coastal resorts, ski areas, historic towns and business destinations.
Popular regional routes include Barcelona Airport to Sitges, Tarragona, Salou, Cambrils, Lloret de Mar, Tossa de Mar, Girona, Figueres, Cadaqués, Roses, La Molina, Andorra la Vella and Perpignan. For families and groups, a private transfer can be much easier than coordinating train and bus connections, especially when travelling with luggage, sports equipment or children.
Long-distance transfers are particularly useful when your destination is not close to a railway station or when arrival times do not match public transport schedules. Instead of waiting for the next connection or making several changes, you can travel directly from the airport to your hotel, villa, resort or meeting point.
Why Pre-Book Instead of Taking a Regular Taxi?
A regular airport taxi may work well for a simple ride to central Barcelona, but pre-booking a private transfer gives you more control. You can choose the vehicle type in advance, arrange enough luggage space, specify child seats if needed and avoid uncertainty during peak arrival times.
For groups, private transfers can be especially practical. Instead of splitting into several taxis, passengers can often travel together in a van or minibus. This keeps the group organized, simplifies luggage handling and makes the journey more comfortable after arrival.
Pre-booked transfers are also useful for destinations outside Barcelona, where regular taxi pricing may be less predictable and availability may vary. With WelcomeTaxi, long-distance routes can be arranged in advance, so the driver, vehicle and itinerary are prepared before your flight arrives.
Local Transportation Specifics in Barcelona
Barcelona is a compact but busy city with a dense historic centre, limited stopping areas in some districts and frequent traffic around the airport corridor, cruise port, beach areas and main avenues. Hotels in the Gothic Quarter, El Born and older neighbourhoods may be located on narrow streets where vehicles cannot always stop directly at the door. In such cases, your driver will use the closest practical pickup or drop-off point.
The city also hosts major exhibitions, football matches, concerts, festivals and cruise ship turnaround days. During these periods, transport demand can rise sharply. Pre-booking your airport transfer or chauffeur service helps avoid last-minute availability problems and reduces the risk of delays.
Barcelona Airport has two main terminals, T1 and T2. When booking a transfer, it is important to provide the correct flight number and arrival details so the pickup can be planned properly. For departures, allow enough time for traffic, check-in and security, especially during summer, holidays and major events.
Useful Travel Information for BCN Arrivals
Barcelona is in Catalonia, Spain, and local signs may appear in Catalan, Spanish and English. The city is international and tourism-friendly, but having an English-speaking driver can still make the arrival process easier, especially when confirming pickup instructions, luggage needs, stops or route details.
For airport pickups, travellers should keep their phone switched on after landing and check messages for any driver instructions. If you are arriving with oversized luggage, bicycles, golf equipment, ski bags or many suitcases, it is better to mention this during booking so that the correct vehicle can be arranged.
Whether you need a simple airport transfer to Barcelona, a premium chauffeur service for business travel, a family van to the cruise port or a long-distance transfer to a resort, WelcomeTaxi offers a reliable private transport solution from Barcelona Airport with professional service and comfortable vehicles.
