Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Taif International Airport

Taif International Airport (TIF) is the main airport serving Taif in western Saudi Arabia. Located outside the city, it handles both domestic and international flights and provides an important gateway to Taif, the surrounding mountain region and destinations across Makkah Province.

Taif is well known for its cooler mountain climate, rose farms, parks and resorts, making it a popular leisure destination within Saudi Arabia. The airport is also relevant for passengers travelling towards Makkah, particularly during periods of increased pilgrimage traffic.

WelcomeTaxi provides pre-booked private airport transfers from TIF for individual travellers, families, business passengers and groups. Vehicles can be arranged in advance for journeys to hotels, resorts, private addresses and other destinations in Taif or for longer transfers elsewhere in western Saudi Arabia.

Getting from Taif Airport to the City

Taif International Airport is located approximately 27 kilometres north of Taif. Road transportation is therefore the main way to reach the city and surrounding destinations after arrival.

Passengers can use taxis, rental cars or pre-booked private transfers. Unlike airports with extensive urban rail networks, Taif Airport is primarily dependent on road connections, making advance transport planning particularly useful for international visitors and travellers unfamiliar with the region.

Private Airport Transfer

A pre-booked private transfer offers direct transportation from Taif Airport to your hotel, resort, residence or business address. Your destination, passenger count and luggage requirements can be provided before arrival, allowing an appropriate vehicle to be reserved in advance.

This can be especially convenient for families, groups and passengers carrying several suitcases. Larger vehicles can also be arranged when additional passenger or luggage capacity is required.

English-speaking drivers can be requested for easier communication with international visitors.

Taxis from Taif Airport

Taxis provide another option for passengers arriving at TIF and can be used for journeys into Taif or nearby areas. They may suit travellers who prefer to arrange transportation after landing.

A pre-booked transfer offers greater predictability, particularly for longer journeys, groups or passengers who need a specific vehicle category. The destination is already known before pickup, which can also simplify travel to resorts and private properties outside central Taif.

Rental Cars

Rental cars can be useful for travellers planning to explore Taif and western Saudi Arabia independently. Road travel is an important part of transportation in the region, and many attractions and mountain destinations are more easily reached by car.

Visitors who prefer not to drive can instead use private transfers for point-to-point journeys or book chauffeur service for itineraries involving several destinations.

Transfers from TIF to Central Taif

Taif is a major regional city with hotels, shopping areas, restaurants, parks and business districts spread across a relatively large urban area. A private transfer from the airport provides direct transportation to the exact accommodation or address rather than requiring an additional local journey after reaching the city.

This can be particularly useful after an evening arrival or for travellers staying at resorts and properties outside the central districts.

When booking, providing the full hotel or property name helps ensure that the correct destination is used, especially when travelling to resorts in the surrounding mountain areas.

Chauffeur Service in Taif

WelcomeTaxi also provides chauffeur service for travellers who need transportation for several hours or multiple stops. This can be useful for sightseeing, business appointments, family visits or private itineraries around Taif and the surrounding region.

A chauffeur can provide transportation between hotels, restaurants, shopping areas, business locations and tourist attractions without the need to arrange a separate taxi for every journey.

English-speaking chauffeurs can be requested for international visitors. Hourly service can also be practical for travellers who want flexibility while exploring destinations outside the city.

Private Transfers to Al Hada

Al Hada is one of the best-known mountain destinations near Taif. Located along the dramatic mountain road descending towards the western lowlands, it is popular for its cooler climate, scenic viewpoints, resorts and leisure attractions.

A private transfer from Taif Airport to Al Hada allows travellers to continue directly to a hotel or resort without first travelling into central Taif. Chauffeur service can also be convenient for visitors planning to explore several mountain attractions during the same day.

The mountainous roads around Taif differ significantly from city driving, making a professional driver particularly appealing for travellers unfamiliar with local routes.

Taif Airport to Makkah

Taif International Airport is one of the aviation gateways used by passengers travelling towards Makkah. Taif and Makkah are connected by mountain roads, and the journey can be made directly by private vehicle.

A pre-booked transfer from TIF to Makkah provides door-to-door transportation from the airport to a hotel or other permitted destination. This can be particularly convenient for families, groups and travellers carrying pilgrimage luggage.

During Hajj and Umrah periods, travel conditions, access restrictions and traffic patterns may change substantially. Passengers should therefore allow additional time and ensure that their travel arrangements comply with any applicable pilgrimage regulations.

Taif Airport and Pilgrimage Travel

Taif Airport plays an important role during periods of pilgrimage travel because of its proximity to Makkah. The airport can receive passengers travelling for Hajj and Umrah in addition to its regular domestic and international traffic.

For pilgrims arriving at TIF, a private transfer can simplify the onward journey by providing direct transportation according to the booked itinerary. Larger vehicles are available for families and groups requiring additional luggage capacity.

Passengers travelling during the Hajj season should take into account that road access and transport arrangements around Makkah can be subject to temporary restrictions and special requirements.

Long-Distance Transfers from Taif Airport

Taif's location in western Saudi Arabia makes the airport a useful starting point for private road journeys beyond the city. WelcomeTaxi can arrange long-distance transfers from TIF to regional destinations including Makkah and Jeddah.

Private long-distance transportation can be particularly convenient when passengers want to travel directly from the airport to their final hotel or private address without changing vehicles or using several different transport services.

For families and groups, travelling together in one suitable vehicle can also make longer journeys more comfortable and easier to coordinate.

Taif Airport to Jeddah

Jeddah is the largest major city on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast and an important business and tourism centre. Although Jeddah has its own major international airport, some travellers arriving at Taif may need to continue there by road.

A private transfer from TIF to Jeddah can provide direct transportation to hotels, residences, business districts or King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED).

This option can also be useful for itineraries involving arrival through one airport and departure through another, although sufficient time should always be allowed for the road journey and airport procedures.

Transfers Between TIF and JED

Taif International Airport (TIF) and King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) serve different parts of western Saudi Arabia but are both relevant to travellers visiting the wider Makkah region.

Passengers should carefully check the airport code shown on each flight reservation. TIF refers to Taif International Airport, while JED refers to King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.

A pre-booked airport-to-airport transfer can be arranged for passengers who need to travel between the two, providing direct transportation without the need to coordinate separate taxis or public transport connections.

Exploring Taif and the Mountain Region

Taif is often called the City of Roses and is one of Saudi Arabia's best-known summer destinations. Its elevated location gives it a milder climate than many lower-lying parts of the country, while the surrounding region is known for mountain scenery, gardens and agricultural areas.

Popular places around Taif include Al Hada, Al Shafa and local rose-growing areas. Many of these destinations are outside the compact city centre, so private transportation or chauffeur service can be useful for travellers planning a full day of sightseeing.

A chauffeur booking provides flexibility to visit several locations according to a planned itinerary while retaining the same vehicle and driver.

Why Pre-Book a Transfer from Taif Airport?

Road transport is central to travel from Taif Airport, and pre-booking allows passengers to arrange their onward journey before departure. This can be particularly useful for international visitors who are unfamiliar with the airport or local transport arrangements.

The vehicle can be selected according to the number of passengers and luggage requirements. Families and larger groups can therefore reserve suitable capacity rather than relying on whatever vehicle is immediately available after arrival.

Private transfers are also useful for passengers heading directly from the airport to mountain resorts, Makkah, Jeddah or other destinations outside Taif.

English-Speaking Drivers in Taif

English-speaking drivers can be requested for WelcomeTaxi airport transfers and chauffeur services in Taif. This can make communication easier when travelling to hotels, resorts, business locations or regional destinations.

For multi-stop journeys, an English-speaking chauffeur can also make it easier to coordinate the itinerary throughout the day.

Useful Travel Information

When booking a transfer from Taif International Airport, provide accurate flight details, passenger numbers and luggage requirements. Travellers carrying additional pilgrimage luggage, sports equipment or oversized items should select a vehicle with sufficient capacity.

Taif is located in mountainous terrain, and road travel towards destinations such as Al Hada and Makkah can involve significant elevation changes. Journey times should therefore be planned with appropriate flexibility.

Travel patterns can change substantially during major religious holidays and the Hajj season. Passengers travelling towards Makkah should allow additional time and check any current access requirements relevant to their journey.

Whether you are travelling from TIF to central Taif, heading to Al Hada or Makkah, continuing to Jeddah or arranging a chauffeur for regional travel, WelcomeTaxi provides pre-booked private transfers designed around your itinerary.
