Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Private Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from YHU
MET – Montréal Metropolitan Airport (YHU) is a commercial passenger airport serving Greater Montreal from Longueuil on the South Shore of the St. Lawrence River. Formerly best known as Montréal Saint-Hubert Airport, YHU entered a new stage in its development with the opening of its modern passenger terminal in June 2026.
Located approximately 15 kilometres from downtown Montreal, the airport provides an alternative gateway to the metropolitan region and serves domestic and regional air travel. WelcomeTaxi offers pre-booked private airport transfers from YHU to Montreal, Longueuil and destinations throughout Quebec, together with chauffeur service and long-distance private transportation.
For travellers who prefer to have their journey arranged before landing, a private transfer provides direct transportation from the airport terminal to a hotel, residence, office or other specified destination. It can be particularly convenient for families, groups, business passengers and travellers carrying substantial luggage.
Getting from Montréal Metropolitan Airport to Montreal
YHU is situated in Longueuil, southeast of central Montreal. Its location on the South Shore makes it particularly convenient for travellers whose destination is in Longueuil, Brossard or other communities south and east of Montreal, while downtown Montreal remains readily accessible by road.
Passengers can choose between public transportation, taxis and pre-booked private transfers. The most suitable option depends on the final destination, travel schedule, luggage and number of passengers.
Private Airport Transfer
A pre-booked airport transfer provides direct door-to-door transportation from YHU without requiring passengers to arrange a vehicle after their flight. Pickup details and the destination are organised in advance, making the service suitable for travellers who value predictable arrangements and a straightforward journey after arrival.
Private transfers are especially useful when travelling with children, several suitcases or a group that needs to remain together. Larger vehicle categories can also be arranged when a standard car would not provide sufficient passenger or luggage capacity.
Public Transportation
MET is connected with Longueuil metro station by the METbus service operated in partnership with RTL. The shuttle runs between the airport terminal and the Longueuil–Université-de-Sherbrooke metro station, providing access to Montreal’s public transport network.
From Longueuil station, passengers can continue by metro and other local services to destinations across the city. Public transportation can be a practical and economical solution for travellers with light luggage who are staying close to a convenient metro station.
Passengers heading to a hotel, residential address or destination requiring additional connections may prefer a direct private transfer, particularly after a long flight or when travelling as a group.
Taxi and Other Road Transport
Taxi services provide another way to leave YHU after arrival. For travellers making a simple journey and comfortable arranging transportation at the airport, a regular taxi may be sufficient.
A pre-booked private transfer offers a different type of service because the vehicle requirements, passenger numbers and final destination can be organised before travel. This becomes more valuable for longer journeys, airport-to-airport connections or bookings that require a larger vehicle.
Transfers from YHU to Downtown Montreal
Downtown Montreal is approximately 15 kilometres from Montréal Metropolitan Airport, although actual driving distance and journey time depend on the precise destination and traffic conditions. The route requires crossing the St. Lawrence River, so travel times can vary during busy commuting periods, major events and road works.
Private transfers can take passengers directly to central areas including Downtown Montreal, Old Montreal and the city’s main hotel and business districts. Door-to-door service removes the need to travel first to Longueuil metro station and then continue with luggage through the public transport system.
The same service can be used for journeys from central Montreal back to YHU. For airport departures, travellers should allow sufficient time for traffic and check-in, particularly during weekday peak periods.
Transfers to Longueuil and Montreal’s South Shore
One of YHU’s main advantages is its position on Montreal’s South Shore. Travellers staying in Longueuil can reach their destination without first crossing into Montreal, while locations such as Brossard and other communities in the Montérégie region are also conveniently positioned for road transfers from the airport.
A pre-booked transfer can be arranged directly to hotels, private homes, offices and event venues throughout the area. This is useful for business visitors whose appointments are based on the South Shore and for travellers who do not need to enter central Montreal at all.
Chauffeur Service from YHU
WelcomeTaxi chauffeur service is available for passengers who require transportation beyond a simple airport-to-address transfer. A vehicle with driver can be arranged for business meetings, corporate visits, events, sightseeing or journeys involving several stops.
Hourly chauffeur service can be particularly convenient when a traveller has a changing schedule or several appointments across Greater Montreal. Instead of arranging a separate taxi or transfer for every journey, passengers can use a pre-arranged vehicle for a defined period.
English-speaking drivers can be requested for international travellers who want easy communication during their journey. Chauffeur service can begin at YHU or be arranged separately for transportation during a stay in Montreal.
Long-Distance Transfers from Montréal Metropolitan Airport
YHU can also be used as the starting point for private long-distance transfers beyond Greater Montreal. WelcomeTaxi can arrange direct road transportation to destinations throughout Quebec and neighbouring regions, subject to vehicle availability for the requested journey.
Potential onward destinations include Mont-Tremblant, Ottawa, Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivières and Quebec City, as well as resorts, smaller towns and private addresses that may require additional connections when travelling by scheduled public transport.
Long-distance private transfers are especially useful for families, small groups and travellers carrying substantial luggage. They provide a continuous journey from the airport terminal to the final destination without the need to travel first into central Montreal to connect with an intercity train or coach.
YHU to YUL Airport Transfers
Greater Montreal is served by two separate commercial airports. MET – Montréal Metropolitan Airport uses the IATA code YHU and is located in Longueuil, while Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) is situated in Dorval, west of central Montreal.
Passengers connecting between flights at YHU and YUL should remember that these airports are on opposite sides of the metropolitan area. They are not interchangeable terminals within the same airport complex, and an onward road journey is required.
A pre-booked private airport-to-airport transfer can simplify this connection by providing direct transportation between YHU and YUL. Because travel involves crossing the Montreal metropolitan area, passengers should allow a generous connection time and consider possible congestion when planning separate flight tickets.
Why Pre-Book a Transfer from YHU?
Pre-booking is not necessary for every airport journey, but it offers several practical advantages. The transportation plan is established before arrival, the correct vehicle category can be selected in advance, and passengers know that their transfer is intended for their specific destination.
This can be more convenient than making arrangements after landing, particularly for groups, families, business travellers and anyone travelling with more luggage than a normal sedan can comfortably accommodate. It also becomes useful when travelling beyond the immediate Montreal area, where a regular local taxi may not be the most practical option.
For corporate travellers, a booked transfer or chauffeur service can also be coordinated with meetings, hotels and onward appointments. For visitors unfamiliar with the city, door-to-door transportation removes the need to navigate the public transport network immediately after arriving.
Useful Information for Travellers Arriving at YHU
The new passenger terminal at Montréal Metropolitan Airport opened in June 2026. Travellers should therefore pay particular attention to the airport code shown on their itinerary, especially because YHU and YUL both serve the Montreal region but are located in different parts of the metropolitan area.
The official address of MET is in Longueuil, and the airport is also associated historically with the Saint-Hubert area. Depending on travel websites, airline information or older references, passengers may therefore encounter names such as Montréal Saint-Hubert Airport, Saint-Hubert Longueuil Airport or Montréal Metropolitan Airport. The IATA code YHU is the clearest way to identify the airport.
French is the official language of Quebec, while English is also commonly encountered in Montreal’s tourism and travel environment. For international travellers who prefer to communicate in English, an English-speaking driver can be requested when arranging a WelcomeTaxi transfer.
Whether the journey is a short transfer to Longueuil, a trip into downtown Montreal, an airport connection to YUL or a long-distance transfer across Quebec, pre-booked private transportation provides a comfortable door-to-door option from Montréal Metropolitan Airport.
