Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Private Transfers and Chauffeur Travel in Munich
Munich is the capital of Bavaria and one of Germany’s leading destinations for business, culture, exhibitions and leisure travel. The city combines a compact historic centre with major corporate districts, extensive residential areas and excellent connections to the rest of Bavaria and the Alps. Whether you are arriving for a short city break, an international conference or a longer journey through southern Germany, pre-booked private transportation can make moving between the airport, hotel and onward destinations considerably easier.
WelcomeTaxi provides private transfers, airport transfers, chauffeur service and long-distance transportation in Munich. Vehicles can be arranged for individual passengers, families, business travellers and groups, with service between airports, hotels, railway stations, offices, exhibition venues and private addresses.
Munich Airport Transfers
Munich Airport (MUC) is the principal airport serving the city. It lies northeast of Munich and is connected with the centre by road and public transport. Passengers can travel into Munich by S-Bahn, airport bus, taxi, rental car or pre-booked private transfer.
The S1 and S8 suburban railway lines provide direct connections between Munich Airport and the city. They serve important central stations and make public transport a practical option for passengers travelling light. The Lufthansa Express Bus also operates between the airport, Munich North and Munich Central Station.
Public transport works particularly well when the final destination is close to a station. However, passengers staying elsewhere may still need to change to the U-Bahn, tram, bus or another taxi. Travelling with children, several suitcases, ski equipment or a larger group can make those additional connections less convenient.
A pre-booked Munich Airport transfer provides direct door-to-door transportation from the terminal to a hotel, apartment, office or other address. The vehicle is arranged before arrival, making it easier to plan the journey without deciding between different transport options after landing.
Transfers to Munich Hotels and Districts
Private transfers can be booked to destinations throughout Munich, including the historic centre around Marienplatz, the Hauptbahnhof area, Maxvorstadt, Schwabing, Bogenhausen, Haidhausen, Lehel, Nymphenburg and other districts.
For visitors staying in central Munich, a private vehicle can provide a straightforward connection directly to the hotel entrance. This is particularly useful after a long flight or when arriving late with luggage. Business passengers can similarly travel directly from the airport to an office, corporate headquarters, conference venue or meeting location.
Munich Chauffeur Service
Munich is an important business and exhibition centre, so many journeys involve more than a simple airport-to-hotel transfer. A chauffeur-driven vehicle can be arranged for several hours or for a schedule involving multiple appointments around the city.
Hourly chauffeur service is suitable for business meetings, corporate roadshows, events, sightseeing and transportation between several addresses. Instead of arranging a separate taxi for each journey, passengers can use a vehicle according to a planned itinerary.
English-speaking drivers can be requested where available. This can make communication easier for international visitors, particularly when the booking involves multiple stops or a longer regional journey.
Transportation to Messe München
Messe München is one of the city’s major business destinations and hosts international trade fairs, exhibitions and conferences. During large events, demand for transport and accommodation can rise considerably.
Private airport transfers can be arranged directly between Munich Airport and hotels or addresses near the exhibition grounds. Chauffeur service is also useful for companies whose representatives need transportation between hotels, the exhibition centre, business dinners and meetings elsewhere in Munich.
Getting Around Munich
Munich has an extensive public transport system based on U-Bahn underground trains, S-Bahn suburban trains, trams and buses. For sightseeing within the central city, public transport is often the most convenient way to travel. Many attractions in the historic centre are also within walking distance of one another.
Private transportation becomes particularly useful when passengers are carrying luggage, travelling between locations that are not conveniently connected, moving as a group or following a time-sensitive schedule. It is also valuable for journeys extending beyond the urban public transport network.
Visitors driving themselves should be aware that central Munich can be busy and parking may be less convenient than using public transport or a chauffeur service. For travellers who need a car only for airport transportation or an excursion outside the city, booking a driver can remove the need to collect, park and return a rental vehicle.
Oktoberfest and Event Transportation
Munich receives especially high visitor numbers during Oktoberfest and other major events. Hotels, taxis and other transportation services can be in strong demand during these periods.
Pre-booking transportation is useful when arrival times, business appointments or event schedules are fixed. Airport pickups, hotel transfers and chauffeur bookings can be arranged in advance rather than relying entirely on transportation availability after arrival.
Long-Distance Transfers from Munich
Munich is a convenient starting point for road journeys throughout Bavaria and towards the Alps. WelcomeTaxi can arrange long-distance transfers from Munich to cities, towns, resorts and tourist destinations that may otherwise require several railway or bus connections.
Popular directions include Augsburg, Ingolstadt, Regensburg, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Füssen area. Travellers visiting Neuschwanstein Castle can also arrange private transportation towards Füssen and Schwangau rather than coordinating several forms of public transport.
For families and groups, a direct long-distance vehicle can be especially practical because passengers remain together and luggage stays in the same vehicle for the journey.
Munich to Salzburg and Austria
Munich’s position in southern Germany also makes it a useful starting point for cross-border transfers into Austria. Private transportation can be arranged to Salzburg, Innsbruck and destinations throughout Tyrol, depending on the itinerary.
These transfers are convenient for travellers combining Munich with an Austrian city or continuing directly to an Alpine destination after a stay in Bavaria. A private vehicle avoids the need to travel to a railway station, board with luggage and arrange another transfer at the destination.
Ski and Alpine Transfers from Munich
During the winter season, Munich is an important gateway for journeys towards the Bavarian and Austrian Alps. Ski travellers may arrive with several suitcases, skis, snowboards and other bulky equipment, making direct road transportation particularly useful.
Private transfers can be arranged towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen and other Alpine destinations in Germany as well as resorts across the Austrian border. Passengers should provide accurate information about luggage and sports equipment when booking so that a suitable vehicle can be selected.
Winter weather and holiday traffic can affect driving times in the mountains, particularly on popular weekend routes. Allowing sufficient time is therefore important for journeys back to Munich or Munich Airport.
Memmingen Airport and Munich
Memmingen Airport (FMM) lies considerably farther from Munich than Munich Airport but is used by some passengers travelling to and from the Bavarian capital. A direct airport coach operates between Memmingen Airport and Munich Central Station.
Because FMM is outside the immediate Munich area, passengers should check transfer availability for their specific journey before relying on private transportation. Munich Airport remains the primary airport for the city and the main airport for standard Munich airport transfer services.
Why Pre-Book a Private Transfer in Munich?
Munich has excellent public transport and regular taxis, so private transportation is not necessary for every journey. Its main advantage is direct, pre-arranged travel. Instead of changing between transport services or finding a taxi after arrival, passengers can have transportation organized for their specific destination and schedule.
This is especially valuable for airport arrivals, families with children, groups, passengers with substantial luggage and travellers heading outside Munich. It also simplifies journeys involving several stops or locations that are inconvenient to reach using a single public transport route.
For longer trips, a private transfer provides another important advantage: the journey runs directly from one address to another. There is no requirement to travel first to Munich Hauptbahnhof, manage luggage through a station or arrange local transportation after reaching the destination city.
Useful Travel Information
Munich’s public transport network includes U-Bahn, S-Bahn, trams and buses, making it easy to explore much of the city without a car. Munich Hauptbahnhof is the main railway hub for national and international train services, while additional major stations include München Ost and München-Pasing.
Traffic conditions should be considered when booking road transportation. Morning and afternoon commuting periods, major trade fairs, football matches, Oktoberfest and holiday travel can increase journey times. For an airport departure, sufficient additional time should be allowed between Munich and MUC.
Whether you require a simple airport pickup, transportation between a hotel and business venue, an hourly chauffeur or a long-distance transfer through Bavaria and the Alpine region, pre-booking provides a convenient way to organise private travel in Munich.
