Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a ride?
We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.
What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?
If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.
If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.
How do I know if my order has been accepted?
After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.
If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
How do I change my booking?
To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.
Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.
How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking in two ways:
- Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
- By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.
If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.
Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.
How will I find my driver?
For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).
Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.
For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.
How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?
WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.
Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.
I can’t find my driver. What should I do?
If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.
Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.
If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.
Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Private Transfers, Airport Transport and Chauffeur Service in Denpasar
Denpasar is the capital of Bali and the island’s main administrative and commercial centre. While many visitors associate Bali primarily with its beach resorts, Denpasar is an important transport hub for the southern part of the island and a convenient base for reaching Sanur, Kuta, Seminyak, Nusa Dua, Ubud and other destinations.
WelcomeTaxi provides pre-booked private transfers and chauffeur service in Denpasar for airport journeys, hotel and villa transfers, business travel and longer trips around Bali. Professional English-speaking drivers make the service particularly convenient for international visitors who prefer their transportation arranged before travelling.
Denpasar Airport Transfers
Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), often called Bali Airport or Denpasar Airport, is the main airport serving Denpasar and the entire island of Bali. Despite its common association with Denpasar, the airport is actually located south of the city, between the Kuta and Jimbaran areas.
The airport handles both domestic and international flights and is the usual arrival point for visitors staying anywhere in southern Bali. WelcomeTaxi airport transfers can be arranged from DPS to Denpasar hotels, private addresses, offices and onward destinations throughout the island.
A pre-booked airport transfer can be especially useful after a long international flight. Instead of choosing transportation in the arrivals area, passengers can continue directly to their accommodation with the vehicle requirements arranged in advance.
Getting Around Denpasar
Unlike many large Asian cities, Denpasar does not have an urban railway or metro system. Road transport therefore plays a central role in everyday travel. Taxis, ride-hailing services, buses, scooters and private vehicles are commonly used for journeys within the city and between Denpasar and surrounding areas.
Local public transport can be useful for selected journeys, but it is generally less comprehensive for visitors than the rail and metro networks found in cities such as Singapore or Bangkok. Many travellers therefore use taxis or app-based transport for short local trips.
Private transfers serve a different purpose. They are particularly useful when travelling with luggage, moving between hotels, attending business appointments or travelling directly to destinations outside the city.
Private Transfers Between Denpasar and Sanur
Sanur lies on Bali’s southeast coast and is one of the closest major tourism areas to Denpasar. It is known for beachfront hotels, villas and restaurants and is also an important departure point for fast boats to Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan.
A private transfer between Denpasar, the airport and Sanur provides direct transport to a hotel, villa or harbour area. Travellers connecting with a boat should check their exact departure point carefully and allow extra time for traffic, baggage handling and check-in.
Transfers to Kuta, Seminyak and Canggu
Kuta, Seminyak and Canggu are among the best-known visitor areas on Bali’s southwest coast. Although all are relatively close to Denpasar geographically, road travel times can vary significantly because of traffic.
Kuta is close to Ngurah Rai Airport, while Seminyak lies farther north and is known for hotels, restaurants and beach clubs. Canggu has become a major destination for villas, cafés, coworking spaces and longer stays.
WelcomeTaxi can arrange direct private transfers from Denpasar to these areas, avoiding the need to organise several separate local journeys when changing hotels or travelling with luggage.
Private Transfers to Nusa Dua and Jimbaran
Nusa Dua is one of Bali’s principal resort districts, with international hotels, conference venues and beaches concentrated in the southern part of the island. Jimbaran is closer to the airport and is well known for beachfront accommodation and dining.
Private transfers from Denpasar are suitable for both leisure and business travellers heading to these areas. Door-to-door transport can be particularly convenient for families, groups and passengers carrying several suitcases.
Denpasar to Ubud Transfers
Ubud is one of Bali’s major cultural destinations and a popular next stop for travellers staying in Denpasar or southern Bali. It lies inland among villages, temples, rice fields and countryside accommodation.
There is no railway connection between Denpasar and Ubud, so road transport is the usual way to travel. A private transfer provides a direct journey from a Denpasar hotel, residence or business address to accommodation in Ubud and the surrounding area.
Because many Ubud properties are outside the central town and can be located on smaller local roads, providing the full hotel or villa name and address is useful when arranging transportation.
Chauffeur Service in Denpasar
WelcomeTaxi chauffeur service in Denpasar is suitable for corporate travellers, private clients and visitors who require more than a simple point-to-point ride. A private vehicle can be arranged for business meetings, hotel changes, events and longer journeys around the island.
English-speaking drivers make communication straightforward for overseas visitors. Chauffeur service can also be useful for passengers travelling to several locations during the same day, particularly when those locations are spread across different parts of southern Bali.
Long-Distance Transfers from Denpasar
Bali may appear compact on a map, but travelling between different parts of the island can take considerably longer than the distance suggests. Roads outside southern Bali may pass through towns, villages and mountainous terrain, while congestion can add significant time around the main tourism areas.
WelcomeTaxi can arrange long-distance transfers from Denpasar to destinations such as Ubud, Candidasa, Padangbai, Sidemen, Amed, Lovina and other locations across Bali. These journeys are particularly useful for visitors changing resorts or continuing to accommodation away from the island’s main transport corridors.
A direct private vehicle allows passengers to travel from one hotel or villa to another with their luggage rather than arranging several separate local services.
Transfers to Ports and Island Connections
Denpasar is also a useful starting point for travellers continuing to Bali’s neighbouring islands. Fast boats operate from departure areas such as Sanur and Padangbai towards destinations including Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, the Gili Islands and Lombok.
A private transfer can connect a Denpasar hotel, villa or Ngurah Rai Airport with the appropriate harbour. Boat departure locations and schedules vary between operators, so passengers should confirm the exact terminal and leave sufficient time for road traffic.
Why Pre-Book Instead of Taking a Regular Taxi?
Taxis and ride-hailing services are widely used for everyday journeys around Denpasar and southern Bali. They can be practical for spontaneous short trips, especially when travelling without much luggage.
A pre-booked transfer becomes more useful for airport arrivals, longer journeys, families and groups. The destination and vehicle requirements are arranged beforehand, reducing the need to organise transportation after landing or while changing accommodation.
This is particularly valuable when travelling beyond the immediate Denpasar area. For a journey to Ubud, eastern Bali or the north coast, arranging a suitable vehicle in advance can provide greater predictability than looking for transport immediately before departure.
Traffic and Journey Times in Denpasar
Traffic conditions are an important consideration throughout southern Bali. Congestion can be significant around Denpasar, Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu and the main roads leading to Ngurah Rai Airport.
Journey times therefore depend not only on distance but also on the time of day, local events, weather and road conditions. Travellers heading to the airport, a boat departure or another time-sensitive connection should allow additional time rather than relying on the shortest estimated journey.
For visitors planning several destinations in one day, realistic scheduling is particularly important. Locations that look close together on a map may require substantially more driving time than expected.
Useful Travel Information for Denpasar
Denpasar is primarily a working Balinese city rather than a purpose-built resort. It offers markets, temples, museums, commercial districts and local neighbourhoods, while many of Bali’s major beachfront tourism areas are located outside the municipal centre.
This geography makes private road transportation useful for visitors combining Denpasar with several parts of southern Bali. A traveller may stay in the city, attend a meeting in another district and continue to a beach resort or Ubud without ever needing to travel through a central transport terminal.
For short journeys after arrival, taxis and ride-hailing apps are widely available. For airport transfers, hotel changes, business travel and longer journeys across Bali, advance booking offers the convenience of a vehicle organised specifically for the planned trip.
Whether you need an airport transfer from Ngurah Rai Airport, an English-speaking chauffeur in Denpasar, transportation to a Bali resort or a long-distance transfer across the island, WelcomeTaxi provides a comfortable pre-booked door-to-door option.
