Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Private Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Services in Osaka

Osaka is one of Japan’s largest cities and a major commercial, cultural and transportation centre in the Kansai region. Known for its energetic street life, excellent food, modern shopping districts and historic landmarks, the city attracts both leisure and business travellers throughout the year.

Popular areas include Namba, Dotonbori, Shinsaibashi, Umeda, Osaka Bay, Tennoji and the districts surrounding Osaka Castle. The wider metropolitan area is closely connected with Kyoto, Kobe, Nara and other important destinations in western Japan.

Osaka has an extensive public transport network, but navigating busy railway stations with luggage can be challenging, particularly after a long international flight. WelcomeTaxi offers pre-booked private transfers and chauffeur services for passengers who prefer direct door-to-door transportation with a suitable vehicle reserved in advance.

Transfers from Kansai International Airport to Osaka

Kansai International Airport (KIX) is the principal international gateway serving Osaka and the wider Kansai region. The airport is located on an artificial island in Osaka Bay, south of the city, and handles a large number of international and domestic flights.

Private airport transfers can be arranged from Kansai International Airport to hotels, apartments, offices and private addresses throughout Osaka. Common destinations include Namba, Shinsaibashi, Umeda, Tennoji, Osaka Castle, Universal Studios Japan and the Osaka Bay area.

A pre-booked transfer is especially useful for families, passengers carrying several suitcases and groups requiring a van or minibus. Instead of changing trains or carrying luggage through crowded stations, travellers are taken directly from the airport to their destination.

The journey from Kansai Airport can vary considerably depending on the location of the hotel, traffic conditions and the time of day. Passengers should allow additional travel time during weekday commuting periods, public holidays and major events.

Kansai Airport Transfers to Namba and Shinsaibashi

Namba and Shinsaibashi are among Osaka’s most popular areas for hotels, restaurants, shopping and nightlife. Namba is also a major railway and metro hub, while nearby Dotonbori is famous for its illuminated signs, canal promenade and extensive choice of restaurants.

Although direct railway services connect Kansai Airport with Namba, a private transfer provides door-to-door travel to the exact hotel or apartment. This can be more convenient when arriving late, travelling with children or carrying luggage that would be difficult to manage through stations and busy streets.

Kansai Airport Transfers to Umeda and Osaka Station

Umeda is Osaka’s main northern business and shopping district. The area around Osaka Station contains office towers, department stores, hotels and connections to regional railway services.

A private transfer from Kansai Airport to Umeda avoids the need to identify the correct railway line or walk between interconnected station buildings. The driver takes passengers directly to the hotel, office or meeting location specified in the booking.

Transfers from Osaka Itami Airport

Osaka International Airport (ITM), commonly called Itami Airport, is an important domestic airport serving Osaka and surrounding cities. Despite its official name, it primarily handles flights within Japan and is closer to central Osaka than Kansai International Airport.

Private transfers from Itami Airport are available to central Osaka, business districts, hotels and regional destinations. The airport is frequently used by passengers connecting to Osaka from Tokyo, Sapporo, Fukuoka, Okinawa and other Japanese cities.

A pre-booked transfer can be particularly convenient for business travellers with a fixed meeting schedule or passengers continuing directly to accommodation outside the central railway network. Suitable vehicles can be arranged for individuals, families and larger groups.

Kobe Airport Transfers to Osaka

Kobe Airport (UKB) is located west of Osaka and serves Kobe and the wider Kansai metropolitan region. It may be a practical alternative for some domestic and regional journeys, especially when flight schedules or onward travel plans are more convenient than those available through Osaka’s other airports.

Private transfers can be arranged between Kobe Airport and Osaka hotels, private addresses, conference venues and tourist districts. The service is also available in the opposite direction for passengers departing from Kobe Airport after staying in Osaka.

As the journey crosses a busy metropolitan corridor, travel time depends on traffic and the exact pickup or drop-off location. Advance booking allows passengers to plan sufficient time for airport check-in and road conditions.

Osaka Cruise Port and Osaka Bay Transfers

Osaka Bay is home to cruise facilities, exhibition venues, entertainment attractions and large hotels. Passengers arriving by cruise ship may require transfers to central Osaka, Kansai International Airport, Itami Airport or destinations elsewhere in the region.

Private cruise transfers are useful because passengers often travel with substantial luggage and may not know the exact location of the terminal in advance. The terminal name, ship details and scheduled arrival time should be provided when requesting the service.

Transfers can also be arranged to Universal Studios Japan, Tempozan, the Osaka Aquarium area and other destinations around Osaka Bay. Larger vehicles should be booked in advance when several passengers are travelling together.

Professional Chauffeur Service in Osaka

A private chauffeur service offers flexible transportation for business meetings, conferences, shopping, sightseeing and special events. Instead of arranging several separate taxi journeys, passengers can reserve a vehicle for an agreed number of hours and follow a planned itinerary.

Corporate travellers may require transport between hotels, offices, exhibition centres, industrial areas and restaurants. Hourly chauffeur hire is particularly suitable when the schedule includes several appointments or when waiting time is required between meetings.

Visitors can also use chauffeur service for personalised sightseeing. A typical itinerary may include Osaka Castle, Dotonbori, Shinsaibashi, Umeda, Shinsekai, Tennoji and attractions around Osaka Bay. Stops can be adjusted according to the available time and passenger preferences.

Mileage for hourly hire is calculated only for travel completed while the passengers are in the vehicle. The driver’s approach to the pickup point is not included in the client’s mileage allowance.

Long-Distance Transfers from Osaka

Osaka is well positioned for private road transfers to major destinations throughout the Kansai region. WelcomeTaxi can arrange direct long-distance transportation to Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, Himeji, Wakayama and other cities in western Japan.

Long-distance transfers provide a convenient alternative to trains when passengers are travelling with large amounts of luggage, require child seats or need to reach a destination that is not close to a major railway station. They can also be practical for families and groups who want to travel together in one vehicle.

Private Transfers from Osaka to Kyoto

Kyoto is one of the most popular destinations for travellers staying in Osaka. A private transfer provides direct transportation between Osaka hotels, airports and accommodation in Kyoto without the need to change trains or navigate busy stations.

The service is suitable for passengers travelling to central Kyoto, traditional districts, private residences or hotels outside the immediate station area. It may also be combined with sightseeing stops when sufficient time is reserved.

Transfers from Osaka to Nara

Nara is known for its historic temples, traditional neighbourhoods and the deer of Nara Park. Private transfers can be booked for direct travel between Osaka and Nara, either as a one-way journey or part of an hourly sightseeing itinerary.

A chauffeur-driven excursion allows visitors to travel at their own pace and reduces dependence on railway timetables. Exact waiting arrangements and planned stops should be confirmed in advance.

Transfers Between Osaka and Kobe

Osaka and Kobe are closely connected metropolitan cities, with frequent travel for business, tourism, port connections and airport transportation. Private transfers are available between hotels, offices, cruise terminals and residential addresses in both cities.

The service can also continue beyond Kobe to destinations such as Himeji, Arima Onsen and other parts of Hyogo Prefecture. Longer itineraries should be requested in advance to confirm travel time and vehicle availability.

Getting Around Osaka

Osaka has a comprehensive network of metro lines, suburban railways, national rail services and buses. Public transport is efficient for many journeys, but the system includes several operators and large interconnected stations that may be confusing for first-time visitors.

Stations such as Osaka, Umeda, Namba and Shin-Osaka can be extremely busy. Different railway companies may use separate platforms or station buildings within the same district. Travellers carrying luggage should allow additional time for finding exits, transferring between services and walking to their accommodation.

Private transportation is particularly useful for airport arrivals, early departures, late-night journeys, multi-stop itineraries and destinations outside the main railway corridors. It also offers greater comfort during periods of extreme summer heat, heavy rain or crowded holiday travel.

Shin-Osaka Station Transfers

Shin-Osaka Station is Osaka’s main high-speed railway terminal and an important arrival point for passengers using the Shinkansen from Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima and other Japanese cities.

Private transfers can be arranged from Shin-Osaka Station to hotels, business districts, cruise facilities and airports. Passengers should provide the train number, arrival time and preferred meeting point when booking.

The station is separate from Osaka Station in Umeda, so travellers should ensure that the correct railway station is specified. Clear pickup information helps avoid confusion and allows the driver to plan the appropriate meeting location.

Why Pre-Book Instead of Taking a Regular Taxi?

Regular taxis are widely available in Osaka, but pre-booked transportation provides greater certainty for airport transfers, groups and long-distance journeys. The vehicle is selected according to the number of passengers, luggage and requested service type.

Advance booking is especially important for vans and minibuses, which may not be readily available at ordinary taxi ranks. It also allows travellers to request child seats, additional stops and detailed pickup arrangements before the day of service.

A pre-arranged transfer creates a clear door-to-door travel plan. International visitors do not need to explain a destination immediately after arrival or determine whether their luggage will fit into the available taxi.

Useful Information for Booking an Osaka Transfer

Passengers should provide the complete pickup and drop-off addresses, service date, pickup time, number of travellers and total luggage. Airport bookings should include the airport code and flight number, while railway transfers should state the train number and arrival station.

For hourly chauffeur hire, provide the estimated duration, planned route and all expected stops. Long-distance transfer requests should include the exact destination and any intermediate stops required during the journey.

WelcomeTaxi operates as an international private transfer and chauffeur service. Transportation in Osaka can be arranged with English-speaking drivers, subject to availability, for airport transfers, business journeys, sightseeing, cruise transportation and long-distance travel throughout Osaka and the Kansai region.
