Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend booking your transfer or hourly hire service at least 72 hours in advance. If you don’t have that much time, you can request an urgent transfer — we’ll let you know as soon as possible whether we can confirm it.

What pick-up time should I specify for the transfer?

If your transfer starts from an airport or railway station, please specify your flight or train arrival time as the start of your transfer. This helps the driver organize the meeting more accurately.

If your transfer starts from a hotel to an airport, please indicate the time you wish to be picked up at reception. You’ll need to calculate it yourself, allowing extra time for check-in. We recommend adding about 3 hours before your flight’s departure. For example, if your flight leaves at 14:00 and the trip takes 1 hour, your pick-up time should be 10:00.

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

After submitting your booking, you’ll receive an email with all trip details and your order status as “Waiting”. Once we receive and confirm your payment, the status will change to “Accepted”, and you’ll receive another email confirmation.

If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

How do I change my booking?

To make changes to your booking, please contact our support team at office@welcome.taxi.

Important note: Requests for changes made less than 72 hours before your trip may be declined.

How can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking in two ways:

  1. Via the booking page on our website — use the cancellation number provided in your booking voucher, at least 72 hours before the trip.
  2. By contacting our support team if it’s less than 72 hours before your ride.
Important note: In case of urgent cancellation, we may not be able to refund your deposit. The free cancellation period is stated in your confirmation email.
What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed by less than 30 minutes, the driver will adjust their arrival time automatically.

If the delay is longer, please inform the driver directly (their phone number is in your confirmation voucher) or contact WelcomeTaxi Customer Support at office@welcome.taxi. Please include your order number and the new arrival time.

Important note: The driver may charge an additional fee for extended waiting time.

How will I find my driver?

For airport transfers, if you’ve added the meet-and-greet option to your order, the driver will meet you in the arrivals area — right after passport control and baggage claim. You’ll see a name sign with your first and last names (or custom text, if specified in your booking).

Important note: We strongly recommend adding the meet-and-greet option to your airport transfer booking.

For hotel pickups, the driver will wait for you in the hotel lobby. Detailed meeting instructions and your driver’s contact number are provided in your booking confirmation voucher.

How can I be sure that my driver will pick me up?

WelcomeTaxi guarantees that your driver will do their best to meet you on time.

Both you and the driver will have each other’s phone or WhatsApp number. Please keep your mobile phone switched on at the time of pickup. If you can’t reach the driver, contact our support team immediately.

I can’t find my driver. What should I do?

If you can’t find your driver, please double-check the name signs again — the driver may have missed you in the crowd.

Try calling or messaging the driver via WhatsApp. If there’s no response within the meeting time, contact our support team.

If necessary, go to the airport’s Information Desk to arrange a local taxi to your destination.

Important note: If the driver fails to meet you, we will refund your payment.

Airport Transfers and Chauffeur Service from Capital International Airport

Capital International Airport (CCE) is one of the airports serving the Greater Cairo region in Egypt. Located near the New Administrative Capital, east of Cairo, it is especially relevant for travelers heading to government districts, business zones, new residential developments, conference venues, and eastern Cairo communities. While Cairo International Airport remains the main air gateway for the capital, Capital Airport is an important option for passengers whose final destination is closer to the New Administrative Capital, New Cairo, or the eastern side of the metropolitan area.

Greater Cairo is a large, fast-growing urban region where the right airport and the right transfer route can make a noticeable difference. A destination described simply as “Cairo” may actually be in Downtown Cairo, New Cairo, Maadi, Giza, Heliopolis, the New Administrative Capital, or a private compound outside the traditional city center. For this reason, arranging a private airport transfer from Capital International Airport in advance is often the most comfortable and practical choice.

WelcomeTaxi offers private airport transfers, chauffeur service, and long-distance transfers from Capital International Airport with professional local drivers and vehicles selected for your route, passenger count, and luggage needs. Whether you are arriving for a business meeting, a government visit, a conference, a family trip, or onward travel across Egypt, a pre-booked transfer from CCE helps make your journey easier from the moment you land.

Getting from Capital Airport to Cairo and the New Administrative Capital

Capital International Airport is positioned to serve Egypt’s New Administrative Capital and the eastern approaches to Cairo. This makes it a useful airport for passengers traveling to ministries, embassies, business districts, corporate offices, hotels, residential compounds, and construction or development areas connected with the new capital region.

The airport can also be used for transfers to New Cairo, Madinaty, El Shorouk, Heliopolis, Nasr City, central Cairo, Maadi, and other parts of Greater Cairo. Travel time depends heavily on the exact destination and traffic conditions. Routes toward the New Administrative Capital and nearby eastern districts may be relatively direct, while transfers to Downtown Cairo, Zamalek, Giza, or the Pyramids area may require more time because of the distance and urban traffic.

A private transfer from Capital Airport gives you a direct door-to-door journey without the need to arrange transport after landing. This is especially helpful for international passengers who are unfamiliar with Cairo’s geography, arriving late at night, traveling with luggage, or heading to a specific office, hotel, residential compound, or event venue.

Transportation Options from Capital International Airport

Private Airport Transfers

A pre-booked private airport transfer is the most convenient option for many travelers arriving at Capital International Airport. The driver receives your flight and destination details in advance, and the vehicle is planned according to the number of passengers and suitcases. This avoids uncertainty at the terminal and removes the need to search for a taxi after arrival.

Private transfers are suitable for business travelers, government delegations, families, VIP guests, conference participants, and small groups. Depending on the request, the service can be arranged with a sedan, SUV, van, minibus, or another suitable vehicle class. For passengers arriving in a developing urban area with many new addresses and compounds, having the transfer organized in advance can save time and reduce confusion.

Regular Taxis

Regular taxis may be available at or near the airport, but availability and comfort can vary depending on the time of day, demand, and destination. For travelers who know the area and speak Arabic, arranging a taxi on arrival may be possible. However, visitors arriving from abroad often prefer not to negotiate a fare, explain a complex address, or coordinate transport after a flight.

A pre-booked transfer is usually more practical for hotels, business addresses, residential compounds, construction sites, event venues, and destinations outside the immediate airport area. The pickup point, destination, and vehicle type are confirmed before arrival, giving the journey a clearer structure.

Ride-Hailing Services

Ride-hailing apps are commonly used in the Greater Cairo area, but they still require mobile internet, app access, a clear pickup location, and communication with the driver. Around airports and newly developed districts, finding the exact meeting point can sometimes be less straightforward than expected, especially for passengers without a local SIM card or knowledge of the area.

For short local trips, ride-hailing may be convenient. For airport arrivals, business travel, larger groups, family transfers, or journeys to less familiar addresses, a pre-booked private transfer from Capital Airport is usually a more reliable and comfortable solution.

Public Transportation

Public transportation may not be the most convenient option for many passengers arriving at Capital International Airport, particularly with luggage or when traveling to a hotel, office, compound, or regional destination. Depending on the route, public transport can require several changes, local knowledge, and additional taxi rides.

For most international travelers, a direct private transfer is simpler. It provides door-to-door travel from the airport to the exact destination, without the need to work out local connections immediately after landing.

Transfers from Capital Airport to the New Administrative Capital

One of the main reasons to use Capital International Airport is its proximity to Egypt’s New Administrative Capital. The new capital area includes government buildings, business districts, residential communities, hotels, conference facilities, and large-scale development zones. For passengers traveling to this part of Egypt, CCE can be a convenient airport choice.

Private transfers from Capital Airport to the New Administrative Capital are suitable for business meetings, official visits, site inspections, relocation trips, hotel arrivals, and event transportation. Since many addresses in the area may be new, large, or located inside gated developments, it is helpful to provide the full destination name, map pin, building number, gate, or entrance instructions when booking.

A pre-booked transfer allows the driver to plan the route in advance and helps avoid unnecessary delays on arrival. This is particularly important when the trip is connected to a meeting, conference, airport connection, or scheduled appointment.

Transfers from Capital Airport to New Cairo and Eastern Cairo

Capital International Airport is also useful for passengers traveling to New Cairo, Madinaty, El Shorouk, Heliopolis, Nasr City, and other eastern parts of Greater Cairo. These areas include residential compounds, universities, shopping districts, hotels, business offices, hospitals, and event venues.

New Cairo in particular is a major destination for corporate and residential travel. Many international visitors arrive for meetings, education, medical appointments, relocation, or family visits. A private transfer from CCE to New Cairo gives passengers a direct ride to the exact address, without the need to explain compound names, gates, or local landmarks to a taxi driver at the airport.

For travelers staying in eastern Cairo, Capital Airport may sometimes be more convenient than Sphinx International Airport, which is located on the western side of the metropolitan region. Cairo International Airport remains the main airport for the city as a whole, but CCE can be useful when the final destination is closer to the New Administrative Capital or New Cairo.

Transfers from Capital Airport to Central Cairo and Giza

Although Capital International Airport is most naturally connected with the eastern side of Greater Cairo, private transfers can also be arranged to central Cairo, Zamalek, Garden City, Maadi, Giza, and the Pyramids area. These journeys may take longer because they involve crossing large parts of the metropolitan area, and travel time can vary significantly depending on traffic.

Visitors heading to central Cairo hotels, Nile-side properties, embassies, museums, or business districts should allow enough time, especially during peak traffic hours. Transfers from CCE to Giza or the Pyramids area may require even more planning because the route crosses from the eastern side of the region to the west.

For these longer city transfers, pre-booking is especially helpful. The driver receives the destination details in advance, the correct vehicle class can be selected, and the journey can be arranged as a direct door-to-door service instead of a series of separate rides.

Chauffeur Service from Capital Airport

WelcomeTaxi also offers chauffeur service from Capital International Airport for travelers who need flexible transportation for several hours or a full day. This is useful for business meetings, government visits, site inspections, conferences, hotel viewings, real estate appointments, and multi-stop itineraries around the New Administrative Capital, New Cairo, and Greater Cairo.

An hourly chauffeur service is often more convenient than booking separate taxis throughout the day. The car and driver remain available for the agreed period, making it easier to move between meetings, offices, hotels, restaurants, and private addresses. In a large metropolitan area like Cairo, this can save time and make the schedule more predictable.

English-speaking drivers are especially useful for international passengers who need help with coordination, addresses, and timing. A chauffeur-driven car can provide a smoother experience for corporate guests, VIP travelers, families, and visitors who prefer private transport instead of relying on taxis or apps for every segment of the day.

Long-Distance Transfers from Capital International Airport

Capital International Airport can also be a practical starting point for long-distance transfers from eastern Greater Cairo. Depending on the itinerary, private transfers may be arranged from CCE to Ain Sokhna, Suez, Ismailia, Port Said, Alexandria, the North Coast, Fayoum, and other destinations in Egypt.

For travelers continuing directly from the airport to a resort, port, business site, private residence, or another city, a long-distance private transfer avoids the need to enter central Cairo first. This can be more comfortable and efficient, especially for families, groups, and passengers with luggage.

Long-distance routes require suitable vehicle planning. A comfortable sedan may be enough for one or two passengers, while families or groups may need an SUV, van, or minibus with more luggage space. By booking in advance, you can confirm the vehicle type, route, timing, and any planned stops before the journey begins.

Why Pre-Book a Transfer from Capital Airport?

Pre-booking a transfer from Capital International Airport gives passengers a more organized arrival experience. This is important because the airport serves a developing region where many destinations may be spread across new districts, compounds, business zones, and official areas. A private transfer helps avoid uncertainty about transport availability, pricing, route planning, and address communication.

Compared with taking a regular taxi on arrival, a pre-booked transfer provides clearer expectations. Your destination is confirmed before the trip, the vehicle is chosen according to your requirements, and the driver has the necessary details in advance. This is particularly valuable for travelers arriving for business meetings, official visits, conferences, or time-sensitive appointments.

For families and groups, pre-booking also solves the luggage and capacity problem. Standard cars may not be suitable for several passengers and suitcases, while a planned transfer can be arranged with a more appropriate vehicle class. This makes the service more comfortable for airport arrivals, intercity journeys, and multi-stop travel.

Local Travel Tips for Capital Airport Arrivals

When booking a transfer from Capital International Airport, provide the full destination address, hotel or company name, flight details, passenger count, and luggage information. For the New Administrative Capital and new residential districts, it is especially useful to include a map pin, gate number, building name, or landmark if available.

Travelers should also plan extra time for journeys across Greater Cairo. Routes to eastern districts may be relatively direct, while transfers to Downtown Cairo, Zamalek, Maadi, Giza, or the Pyramids area may take longer because of distance and traffic. If you have a meeting, tour, dinner reservation, or onward flight, it is better to allow a comfortable time buffer.

Capital International Airport is one of several airports serving the Cairo region. Cairo International Airport (CAI) is the main airport and is located northeast of central Cairo. Sphinx International Airport (SPX) serves Giza and western Greater Cairo. Capital International Airport (CCE) is most relevant for the New Administrative Capital, New Cairo, and eastern regional travel.
